So, I read some reviews about Cloudways, and several CMS platforms recommended using this server. I decided to hire a developer to transfer all my data from A2 Hosting to Cloudways. Initially, it seemed much better, and my website loaded faster. However, after the server updated its firmware, my website crashed, and all my product posts disappeared. I was unable to load my website, and their tech support could not fix it, so I had to hire a developer to resolve the issue, spending a lot of money—thousands of dollars—to get my website up and running again. Then, after a few months, my credit card was stolen, causing a missed payment of only 5-7 days. The server suspended my account. Once I got a new credit card and made the payment, my account was reactivated, but my website crashed again and was unable to load. Tech support could not fix the issue and told me I needed to hire a developer again. I felt like I had spent so much money, and I questioned the point of using this server since they continued to have issues that messed up my business. I had never experienced anything like this with other servers; when issues arose, they were able to restore my site to normal functioning. However, this server could not restore my website, and all my data was gone. They just kept telling me to hire a developer. I have to spend money again to fix it. I deployed a website on Cloudways and the entire process was smooth and easy, with added niceties to make my life easier. I have professional experience with setting things up directly in AWS, Azure, and GCP, and I have to say Cloudways uses language and structure that is much more intuitive and easier to understand. For WordPress Hosting, while maybe not as simple as some WordPressed focused solutions, Cloudways gives you much more for your money. Also, it has been about a year and I've had *zero* issues. No emergiencies, sudden bugs or servers crashing from updates, no accidental changs that make the website disappear, nothing. Incredibly reliable so far. Lastly, if you setup Cloudways with DigitalOcean as your backend, you'll probably end up spending less money. The pricing structure is very straight forward giving you a lot of very reasonable options depending on scale. **What do you dislike about Cloudways?** If you need more complex setups, advanced IAM, or extreme customization, you may start running into limitations. I cannot speak too much to this, though, because I used Cloudways for a fairly standard deployment. The end result is that even complex pages can often be rendered in less than 0.1 seconds. On Cloudways, I was able to get a 100% page speed index. Even New Relic is easy to set up -- as far as it goes. **What do you dislike about Cloudways?** This isn't a big deal to me, but you don't get a cPanel-like web-based file manager. You do, however, have the option to set up SFTP and SSH for file transfer; it just takes a little bit longer to set up. It would be nice if there was a bucket of storage for staging websites, this way it wouldn't use up server space to develop. It's vital for my business that the server has high availability, and in my experience it's never failed. I got help from support to get me moving with a couple of tricky things I hadn't done before, and they delivered in a friendly and helpful way. **What do you dislike about Cloudways?** The dashboard can be slow, but that's OK as I mostly use SFTP to get what I need on the occasions I need to get hold of a log file, for example. Because there are loads of options (they are versatile and it's suitable for all manner of devops), the control panel can appear complex. I don't think there's anything they can do about this because these are features that they want to offer, but for my more basic business case I'm not using most of what they offer. The support is all delivered via chat which is generally positive, but there was one occasion where it took a while because I asked a difficult question and it took three support team members to have a look before I got an answer that moved me forward.
