One of the things I value most about Cloudways is how it simplifies the management of multiple tools and services in one place. For a small to mid-sized business like ours, having features like server management, backups, staging environments, and SSL setup all centralized is a huge time saver. It makes project management a lot easier and more efficient. The interface is also very clean and beginner-friendly, which helps when working with non-technical team members — although it can be a bit sluggish at times. Support is hit-or-miss. While the agents are knowledgeable and usually resolve issues effectively, response times can be frustrating — sometimes it takes several minutes or even hours to get connected with someone. Also, as mentioned, the UI—despite being simple and well-organized—feels slow or unresponsive at times. It would also be great to have more flexibility with backups and integrations with external monitoring or CI/CD tools. Lastly, pricing can ramp up quickly if you’re not careful with resource scaling. I was a VPS user of Linode for a few years, but I'm not great at keeping up with regular updates, so found managing a VPS to be a hassle. Decided to try Cloudways to see if the experience was easier, and while its more expensive than a n equivalent VPS, it's definitely easier. While I am only a new user, I found that the site monitoring tools in Cloudways seem a bit odd. My test site which has no real traffic, is generating large spikes in incoming traffic and outgoing traffic, which I cannot explain. I've contacted the Cloudways staff and am waiting for a response. It doesn't seem to be impacting my site, but if I develop something that gets to scale, then I would like more detailed information or a way to diagnose this unknown traffic... Update (July 2025):

Cloudways has now resolved my refund issue. I appreciate the efforts of their team in closing this matter and following up to ensure everything was settled.

While I’m glad the issue is resolved, the process took much longer than expected and required multiple follow-ups. I hope Cloudways improves their response time for similar situations in the future.

I had high expectations for Cloudways, especially seeing their #1 rating on G2. However, my experience with their support has been disappointing.

After UGURUS shut down, Cloudways took over their accounts. I reached out in early April 2025 regarding a refund discrepancy—ticket #639327 (and later #642612). Despite providing all necessary details and following up multiple times through tickets and live chat, I never received a final resolution or even a clear explanation.

I was promised a response “within a few hours” back on May 5, but I’m still waiting weeks later. Even escalation attempts have gone unanswered. This lack of accountability and communication from a top-rated provider is frustrating and unexpected.

I’m hopeful this review will help get attention on the issue. Cloudways has potential, but their support for legacy UGURUS customers needs serious improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like most about Cloudways is how simple and intuitive the platform is. There are a few limitations that affect flexibility for more advanced users. For example, it's not possible to set a different PHP version per application – only at the server level, which can be restrictive when managing multiple projects with different requirements. I also couldn’t find a way to create a local backup for a single application; backups seem to apply only to the entire server. - The markup for bigger servers is quite steep

- The new firewall is not good enough. Website has started getting DDOS attacks whereas that was not the case earlier. Need to make the WAF much more robust. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very easy to use! I like that you can either have a dedicated application or a server that can host multiple ones. They have a variety of options to choose from so you're not stuck with a few choices. It's hard when I'm starting a business and don't know what I'm doing but with the cloudways software it's been super easy especially connecting the domain to the app itself was extremely easy Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Customer service is slow if you don't pay for the good tier/plan. I understand that other people pay more therefore they get better support but before I got my subscription the support team was so fast to respond but once I got my subscription activated, there were crickets all of a sudden and my emails had 0 responses Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
