I was looking for a provider with an easy-to-use staging environment that works for vanilla PHP/MySQL websites. Cloudways has it—one click and it just works. Every other place I tried only supported staging for WordPress sites.

The dashboard is easy to use, though it’s nowhere near as straightforward as a hosting account with cPanel. That said, for someone who knows what they’re doing, it’s excellent and works very well. When I make a setting, the interface is a bit slow. Probably because when I change a toggle for an option, it immediately makes the change on the server, and you have to wait for that. I appreciate Cloudways for the staging environments, which make it easy to create test environments from production to test new features. I love that there's a single panel with all the credentials I might need, like DB and SSH, making it easy to find them. Backups are super annoying. If I want to download an old backup for audit or I need to restore a backup from an environment into a new environment, that's not possible at all. It's a serious oversight as a feature. It's also a bit confusing that there's one owner of the account and I cannot give the same privileges to other users in the same account (for example, only the owner can access the Cloudways API key generation). Cloudways has one of the best hosting platforms I’ve worked with. The interface is intuitive, server scaling is simple, and the overall system is very well designed. Cloudways has been an excellent hosting platform for our agency. The UI is clean, intuitive, and makes server management and scaling straightforward. Their support and ticketing system is honestly one of the fastest and smartest I’ve experienced in hosting — quick responses, knowledgeable technicians, and real problem-solving.

We currently run on DigitalOcean through Cloudways and have had a strong overall experience. My only wish is that Cloudways offered more enterprise-grade compliance infrastructure options, such as SOC 2 aligned server environments, for agencies and healthcare-related projects that require stricter compliance standards. Honestly, the best thing about Cloudways is their support. There is always someone that can solve your problems. On top of that they seem to always be keeping up with technological innovation on the platform making it both easier to use and preventing redundancy of service. Just today a new message came through about js.node which for those that understand it, means they are taking both AI and development seriously for their users. I use Clouways' Digital Ocean Server, $11/mo. It renders my music website way fast than I had expected. Music production files involve heavy sizes to render so I needed a fast and affordable hosting for this. Cloudways is easy to use and manage. I use it for my client websites, Laravel projects, and WordPress sites. Server performance is good and websites run smoothly. The new interface is great and it has AI integrated for the autonomous scalability and AI solutions for getting stuff fixed. You can now basically pay like 100$ a month for Wordpress or Woo service with all in one solution with automatic scaling and stuff built right with AI and Kubernetes. You have new site manager portal for your Wordpress stuff and is a one stop management software for all your Wordpress sites. There is a free basic plan too if you wonder. Also if you are just starting Astra Pro is first for a year and you can integrate with Cloudflare services right from the portal which is just excellent. I will say, they need to bring back some of their old tech support people and for the autonomous management stuff the price should not be 100$ for month, it should be around 45-50$. They are basically making it more AI friendly and cutting of their staff and making more profit and not forwarding those incentives to the end users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cloudways still has the best support team of any hosting company I have worked with! Anytime we have an issue (which is very rare) I am able to quickly connect with a member of their team and they are always able to help me resolve it. It looks like they have also rolled out a lot of new features but we are still quite happy with the setup we have now and have not looked to make any changes. Previously I expressed some concern with how Cloudways was rolling out new features. When Cloudflare was first offered as an add-on we ran into some issues and had trouble getting support from either Cloudways or Cloudflare. But we have had no issues since that time and I imagine the support protocols are well ironed out now. I would like for Cloudways to not just offset emissions but more explicitly engage with good energy management and the energy transition while maintaining performance. I note that Krystal have gone B-Corp and reporting power usage effectiveness. Mythic Beasts are also high performance and have been verified as a green hosting provider.
