But it frustrated me how slow it was on a 'cheaper' plan from one of the long standing, market 'leaders' who have developed shocking customer service and charge an add-on for everything. For a small cost, I handed this task to an outsourcer on Upwork for less than $100 (USD) and it was all taken care in a couple of days - the websites I use most are already SO much faster and making edits/content creation much more enjoyable! All up, the cost for this hosting isn't much more and the customer support team are far more efficient and pleasant to deal with. Overall, a great first impression and happy to have made the move :) **What do you dislike about Cloudways?** I wasn't confident using the interface as the language/terminology was completely different to anything I'd seen on previous hosting services. Basically you get cloud hosting for the priced of shared hosting. Their servers (especially Vultr) are fast, their support is friendly, they include a staging feature even in their cheapest plan and have a top affiliate program. Also, I love the many datacenter locations I can choose from. For small/local business websites, this is a huge plus. In addition, moving WordPress websites over to Cloudways is easy and fast thanks to their migration plugin. From an agency perspective, I also like that they allow my clients to own the accounts with the option of us having full access. I have used Cloudways almost on a daily basis for 5 years now. **What do you dislike about Cloudways?** I have sometimes experienced unusual slowness on their DigitalOcean servers especially when the website is under load. However, this seems to be almost not in existance when choosing their Vultr servers. The email accounts (Rackspace) and transactional email (Elastic Email) add-ons are somewhat limiting, but cheap and easy to set up. Depending on the need, it might be best to sign up with third party provider directly. So, not a big deal. Also, I wished they would offer phpMyAdmin instead of their database editor. But when needed, I can install phpMyAdmin on their server. **What problems is Cloudways solving and how is that benefiting you?** They allow my clients to own the hosting account but give me the option to have full access. No extra charge and no credential sharing. Plus, they offer quality hosting at a low price. So, I read some reviews about Cloudways, and several CMS platforms recommended using this server. I decided to hire a developer to transfer all my data from A2 Hosting to Cloudways. Initially, it seemed much better, and my website loaded faster. However, after the server updated its firmware, my website crashed, and all my product posts disappeared. I was unable to load my website, and their tech support could not fix it, so I had to hire a developer to resolve the issue, spending a lot of money—thousands of dollars—to get my website up and running again. Then, after a few months, my credit card was stolen, causing a missed payment of only 5-7 days. The server suspended my account. Once I got a new credit card and made the payment, my account was reactivated, but my website crashed again and was unable to load. Tech support could not fix the issue and told me I needed to hire a developer again. I felt like I had spent so much money, and I questioned the point of using this server since they continued to have issues that messed up my business. I had never experienced anything like this with other servers; when issues arose, they were able to restore my site to normal functioning. However, this server could not restore my website, and all my data was gone. They just kept telling me to hire a developer. I have to spend money again to fix it. I deployed a website on Cloudways and the entire process was smooth and easy, with added niceties to make my life easier. I have professional experience with setting things up directly in AWS, Azure, and GCP, and I have to say Cloudways uses language and structure that is much more intuitive and easier to understand. For WordPress Hosting, while maybe not as simple as some WordPressed focused solutions, Cloudways gives you much more for your money. Also, it has been about a year and I've had *zero* issues. No emergiencies, sudden bugs or servers crashing from updates, no accidental changs that make the website disappear, nothing. Incredibly reliable so far. Lastly, if you setup Cloudways with DigitalOcean as your backend, you'll probably end up spending less money. It has numbers of useful features that helps hosts different servers directly on cloud. Implementing this platform is very easy. It has the option to chose and integrate cloud platforms like, google cloud, aws, and digitalocean, etc. Their customer support is also very good, their executive is always available to help whenever needed. **What do you dislike about Cloudways?** While using cloudways I saw that it does not feature related to hosting emails. So, it is a demarit of this tool. Due to this unavilability, we need to use other platforms like google or zoho for email hosting. Apart from this all fetaures are use. Cloudways UI is also very clean. **What problems is Cloudways solving and how is that benefiting you?** From past one and half year I am using cloudways to host ours and our clients servers on cloud servers, so that it can work effectively even in peak hours. We are using this tool to host servers, icnluding wordpress servers in the google cloud as well as aws. After shifting our websites in cloud thorugh cloudways, we found that our platforms are working smoothly. When students registers for exams, it does not crash. Or even, when huge number of users use our platform for attempting exam at a time it works well. Two common headaches are page-level caching and offloading WP Cron to an external process. Breeze is exactly that (a breeze) for caching, and offloading WP Cron is as easy as a toggle. The end result is that even complex pages can often be rendered in less than 0.1 seconds. On Cloudways, I was able to get a 100% page speed index. Even New Relic is easy to set up -- as far as it goes. **What do you dislike about Cloudways?** This isn't a big deal to me, but you don't get a cPanel-like web-based file manager. You do, however, have the option to set up SFTP and SSH for file transfer; it just takes a little bit longer to set up.
