**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

It’s very user-friendly, the design feels intuitive, and it’s easy to set up. It is also budget-friendly compared to other similar services. It provides excellent customer support as and when required, and performance is top-notch. It's ai features are of great deal specially when creating a new job cause when we describe what we need, it provides recommendations, thereby making our job easier.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Honesty, there is nothing to dislike about TestGorilla, but yes, there is only one point of concern, and that is we can only add 20 custom questions in TestGorilla if we are on the plus plan. If this can be increased, then it would be a great deal.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When it comes to hiring a genuine deserving candidate by filtering them from lots of other candidates, the main challenge was taking tests for skills assessments, especially for remote hiring, since it is not possible to take the tests from a physical examination centre, also if the candidate was allowed to give the test from home then there is possibility they may cheat, specially when today AI is there, but that is not possible with test gorilla as test gorilla ensures that when the test is going the camera should be turned on and the test happens in full screen thereby capturing the candidates photo while he is giving the test, so unbiased hiring for the right candidate always happens with use of testgorilla, also is saves us wastings hours of reading cv's.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

The most helpful feature of TestGorilla is the ranking and comparison of candidates' assessment results, which allows us to look at candidates fairly.

The user interface is easy to navigate, and the integration with other applications makes it easier to handle the results. We have used TestGorilla for hiring for multiple roles at once with multiple assessments, and the website performance catches up with what we need.

We definitely had a few quality hires with the help of the assessments, which led me to think that the yearly pricing is reasonable and that ROI can be achieved.

I have not reached out to the support team yet, but the onboarding for getting the assessments ready is helpful enough the first time. I've set up a lot of assessments with the help of the knowledge library, even without prior experience. The most helpful AI feature is the detection of suggested tests based on the job descriptions we have.

Overall, TestGorilla is worth the shot.

One downside of TestGorilla is not being able to modify the columns to filter the candidates' results.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

TestGorilla has been a valuable tool in helping us create a more structured and intentional screening process. What I like best is the flexibility. We can customize assessments to fit the specific skills and competencies we’re hiring for, while also leveraging their pre-built test library when we need a faster solution.

I also appreciate the option to collect both written and video responses. Depending on the role, this gives us better insight into communication style, professionalism, critical thinking, and culture fit before moving candidates further into the process. It has helped streamline early-stage hiring and improve the quality of candidates advancing through interviews.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

One downside we’ve experienced is occasional browser compatibility or technical issues on the candidate side. At times, candidates have had trouble getting assessments to load or function properly depending on their browser or device, which then requires additional troubleshooting and support from our team during the hiring process. While it hasn’t been a dealbreaker, it has created some friction in certain cases.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use TestGorilla as one tool within our overall hiring process to help us better understand candidates beyond just a resume. The assessments often give us additional insight into communication style, problem-solving, and areas we may want to probe further during interviews.

That said, we don’t treat the results as the final deciding factor or automatically dismiss candidates based solely on assessment performance. In fact, at a previous company, one of our strongest and most successful employees performed poorly on their TestGorilla assessment initially. That experience reinforced for me that these tools are most valuable when used as a guide and conversation starter, not as the sole determinant of talent or potential.

Overall, it has helped us create more intentional interviews and ask better follow-up questions throughout the hiring process.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

We like the variety of assessments available. We are in the IT industry and whether we are filling a Level 1 Helpdesk position, or a Senior Software Engineer, there are several skills assessments to choose from for each.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

The cost to add API capability for integration with our ATS would have doubled what we are currently paying so we decided against it. We don't need the other features that come with Plus, so it would be nice to be able to pay for the API key separately. This would improve our hiring workflow without a lot of additional cost for us.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestGorilla's assessments allow us to filter out candidates who might say they have more technical expertise than they actually do. We believe assessing our candidates during the hiring process helps us to save time and cost in avoiding new hires that end up unable to perform the basic functions of the job.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I like the easiness of using the platform its clear and straightforward information which is super efficient. I also like that its not only skill based options but also behavioural/personality categories to choose as well. The support team is great! i had a meeting once and learned  so much about the platform

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I would say i dislike how much you have to read into the results and analyse it because sometimes the 'percentile' score and the 'raw' score make me feel like im choosing between which score to choose from if that makes sense. I also wish it was integrated to Seek or Employment Hero. Performance wise i wish we could choose more than 5 categories for the skill based section.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

well it surely helps me a lot as part of my recruitment process as testing is embedded in our process as part of the final stages. 
it also tells me a lot about the individual based on their answers to like BIG OCEAN or DISC etcc

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I like TestGorilla's user interface; it's great and makes the experience smooth. I also appreciate the extensive number of tests available, which offers a lot of variety to choose from. Additionally, I find the cross-comparison between candidates to be particularly useful. Viewing by percentile, overall score, and doing the weightings between different tests makes the assessment process very efficient.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I think that each job or role is listed independently, which is a bit frustrating. I'd like to be able to create a job that we're applying for and create different stages of tests, sending all applicants one test, maybe the free tests, and then another set for those who pass. But right now, I've got to create different jobs altogether for the same job, just different stages of the application process. I also think it'd be helpful to be able to try more test questions. Being able to ask more clarifying questions would be great. It's about collecting metadata or supporting information, like where candidates are based or their salary expectations, using dropdowns for collection. I also wish Google Forms was more integrated into TestGorilla.

TestGorilla helps in assessing candidates by enabling cross comparison between them through percentile scores and test weightings.

Some candidates are resistant to do online assessments like "Critical Thinking" and this sometimes slows down our filtering process (but is a standard we think should be enforced).

It allows us to evaluate how "smart" a candidate is in addition to the skills-specific interview approach which is our default. We are trying to hire people not only with the tactical skills to do the job today but with the ability to adapt and grow as our business changes in the future.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

What I like most about TestGorilla is the ease of use of the program and how dynamic and fun it can be for both the user and the employer. It is very practical to set up the tests, which offer various options, including sending video questions and adapting and evaluating the tests with AI. The diversity of tests, including language and technical tests, is quite useful for our needs, especially for positions like junior engineers. The ease of use and the dynamism with which it is presented make it very attractive. I think it is one of the best platforms on the market.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

There are few things I would say could be improved currently, such as expanding the new 'jobport' functionality beyond remote jobs and locations. Another improvement would be to allow for larger or longer tests, if necessary, for certain positions.

TestGorilla helps us have a less biased candidate selection and conduct automated tests to assess skills such as communication and problem-solving. It facilitates a more objective evaluation of candidates in the initial phase of the process.

I like how TestGorilla eliminates the need to manually oversee assessing a large number of candidates for our positions. It takes a lot of the manual work out of our hands. I find the automatic tracking of assessment results to be most helpful to us. The initial setup of TestGorilla for my team was fairly simple.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

The API key sometimes doesn't work as well as intended, and we get errors. A simpler interface would be nice, and I'd like upgrade emails and addresses to be improved so that errors go to TestGorilla support instead of us.

Here is what I like the most about Testgorilla:
1. For a newbie like me, Testgorilla provided enough sample questionnaires to get me started
2. The questionnaires come with their set of carefully structured questions to get me the result that I am looking for - makes my work so much easier as I don't have to go around googling
3. It's an absolutely easy platform to use
4. It had all the assessments that I was looking for - FYI I am into recruitment so behavioural assessment was my major focus

I actually didn't find anything to dislike at TestGorilla honestly.

Even for a new user like me, it was an absolute delight to use it and I did not face any issue :)

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I've really loved the product itself. I think it's brilliant. It's been so user-friendly for us; the interface is so simple to navigate. The team is amazing too. I haven't interacted with a single person who wasn't great to chat to. They've all been super helpful and amazing. I was able to onboard onto TestGorilla easily even in the trial stage, and I already felt like an expert. The people made the product as well, and they're knowledgeable about it, answering all of my questions and making onboarding really seamless. The automatic scoring saves us a huge chunk of time, and knowing that the candidates haven't relied on AI is incredible and so needed in today's landscape. It's just one less tool to worry about learning.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

Test Gorilla has been a game-changer for our hiring process. The platform's intuitive interface makes it incredibly easy to set up and administer assessments, saving us valuable time. The variety of available tests caters to a wide range of skills, allowing us to assess candidates comprehensively. Their customer service is responsive and always ready to assist, ensuring we get the most out of the platform. The detailed reports and insights provided help us make data-driven decisions, ultimately leading to better hires. However, we've requested different assessments over time, and those haven't been added to the test bank, so, we haven't really received a ton of support in that area. 

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

While I'm thoroughly satisfied with Test Gorilla, there’s always room for growth. I'd love to see more customization features that allow for even greater tailoring to our specific needs. Additionally, expanding the test library to include more specialized tools, such as Adobe After Effects, and Premiere Pro would be a fantastic enhancement. I feel like many other companies, they're pushing their AI tech into things nobody is really asking for. Nonetheless, these are minor wishes compared to the overall value the platform brings.

Test Gorilla has been instrumental in helping us efficiently evaluate candidates' English proficiency, ensuring that language barriers are minimized from the start. **What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

The service has a vast variety of tests that can be compiled into insightful test assessments that can be sent to potential candidates. best to use when you have no time for manual analysis of candidates. Not they have new tests, a little better interface and I like it. Will continue to use the service.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I don't like the pricing policy, the fact that free tests can be done only inside the company emails, and the range of free tests available is very little. I would like to see more free tests.
Test crashing sometimes and no option to fix it for the candidate. It doesn’t happen often but it happens.

technical skills problem, especially when building a small team and there is not tech lead yet who can test manually each candidate for their skills. That save as some time and can make us do the assessment faster.

I find TestGorilla to be customizable, detailed, and easy to use. I specifically like the option to create custom tests and send links through TestGorilla to a bulk group of candidates, which makes the process easy for our team to apply to different roles and specific expectations as well as streamlines the process. The initial setup was very straightforward.

Could be more clear about how the timing of the test impacts the score as it plays no role. Ability to customize the factors that make up the score would be great

The AI feature where it will suggest tests based on your job description, I like also the feature where it can flag any candidate. It has wide pool of assessment depends on your needs.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

For simulation test, it would be great to see the raw answers. While I appreciate the test results / overall results, seeing how the candidate navigates the test or strategize would be great to see.

It measures the candidate skills beyond a CV. It help us understand his profile versus real life situations, how the candidate will fit in the culture, the personality and what to train for.

One upside of TestGorilla is that it lets us see how applicants are taking the test—for example, screenshots, whether they open another window, how much time they spend on the test, and similar details.

TestGorilla presents itself as a transparent, customer-friendly product, but the reality is very different. The pricing and checkout flow are deeply misleading. What looks and feels like a monthly subscription turns out to be a locked-in annual contract, split into monthly charges — a distinction that is not clearly or responsibly communicated to users.

Once you realize this and try to cancel, you hit a wall.

Refunds are not an option AS A COMPANY POLICY. They literally force you to use their product(which rarely used as you'd like). 

I’ve since discovered I’m far from alone — many users online report the exact same issue: sudden surprise in billing, trying to cancel, and being refused outright.

If you’re considering TestGorilla:

*Read every line of the checkout very carefully**
* Assume there is no flexibility, no goodwill, and no customer advocacy
* Understand that once they have your card, you’re locked in — whether you use the product or not

There are plenty of alternatives in this space. I strongly recommend choosing a company that values transparency, ethics, and long-term trust over aggressive billing tactics.

This experience alone is enough to make sure I never recommend this product — and actively warn others against it.

We used TestGorilla as a small startup to hire one key role. While the tool worked, the subscription model was frustrating. We thought we signed up for a monthly plan, but only afterward learned it was a locked 12-month contract, something not clearly shown at checkout.

After finishing our hire, we asked for fair options (cancellation with penalty or reduced term) but were only offered a rigid 3-month pause. For a platform that markets itself as startup-friendly, this felt misaligned. We sent them over 20 emails begging for cancellation. Still paying 1 year now.

We respect the need for policies, but clearer communication and more flexible solutions would make a big difference for startups like ours.

It worsened when I couldn't log in anymore, and the system auto-renewed my yearly subscription. I had to reach out via email to ask for cancellation, and they said they can't cancel the account. Even after that, I still don't have login access. They failed to understand the main issue and provide solutions. I suggest adding a cancellation option in the account management section instead of requiring email cancellations and giving customers what they paid for.

We've recently started to adopt TestGorilla assessments, we've been searching for something that gives us super objective and standardised data to help us assess who the top percentile candidates potentially are. The Account management team have been great

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Nothing really as of yet, there are A LOT of assessment, which is great, but it's hard to know what tests we should / shouldn't combine in the same groups. I am very ciocious of candidate experience in these things, I am glad candidates can see the results but it would be good if it offer them tips / advice on how to improve / what to work on within their poorer assessments. That would help me really sell the stage and get buy in from candidates, so it's vert two-way

I love how TestGorilla accelerates the interview process by offering a thorough and intensive questionnaire experience. It's great for finding good candidates quickly. I also appreciate the way questions are divided to give candidates breathers, along with helpful examples provided.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I like TestGorilla for its well-structured and role-relevant assessments. The timed tests and mix of technical and aptitude questions make evaluations fair and efficient. I also find the user-friendly interface and clear instructions work especially well. Additionally, the initial setup was really easy.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

One area for improvement is the question depth for more advanced roles, where some tests can feel a bit generic. For advanced roles, it would help to include deeper, scenario-based questions that test real-world problems.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I found their pre-made tests helpful for screening candidates, as they provided a structured approach to evaluating potential hires.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I renewed TestGorilla for 1 full year. And asked their support team to refund in the first week after renewal. But they did not refund anything! This is extremely bad user practice! I find TestGorilla is not solving any problem for me and not benefiting me at all. The pre-made tests, while useful, do not provide me good results. Moreover, I am not satisfied with their support team. These issues contribute to my decision not to repurchase TestGorilla, and I am unlikely to recommend it, giving it a low score of three out of ten.

TestGorilla does not solve any problems for me or provide any benefits. Their pre-made tests are useful for screening candidates but do not yield good results.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I appreciate that TestGorilla makes online assessments easier. I like how I can allow both multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and coding challenge assessments to shortlist candidates. The initial setup was also easy.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I used TestGorilla for assessments, but it was having so many problems. So many candidates are unable to start the test on time, and it has heavy time pressure on students. The UI and support team could be improved. The setup was easy, but the candidates will face so many problems.

I use TestGorilla for job assessments, making online assessment easier and allowing both MCQs and coding challenge assessments to shortlist candidates.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

TestGorilla is incredibly user-friendly and intuitive. I was able to set up and run assessments within minutes—no tutorials or walkthroughs needed. The clean interface made navigation seamless. One standout feature is the ability to send the assessments to myself first—this allowed me to experience the test as a candidate would, which was hugely helpful. Reviewing completed assessments was just as simple; I could quickly jump into individual profiles and see detailed results, including resumes submitted through the Jobs beta page. For a free tool, it delivers a highly professional and polished experience which is really great for us as start up.

Also dealing with the customer support team has been a breeze - quick with info and feedback!

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

There isn’t much to dislike, especially considering the value of the free version. That said, the Jobs feature is still in beta but I'd love the ability to edit job posts after creation. I’d also love to see features like automated rejection emails included in the free version but at the same time - I do understand the business needs to make income as well (#startuplife).

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're a scrappy start up that really looks to bring in people with a start up mentality with a heavy lean towards data driven decision making. The OCEAN 5 and problem solving tests are currently our go to to gauge off the bat if the candidate should move forward. Having done the assessment ourselves it was easy to set the bar and in weeding out those that aren't meeting our criteria is saving us time!
