**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

While I have only used TestGorilla as an applicant, I like that it gives a reasonably fair assessment of my skills and abilities. The platform is easy to use and has a lot of tests for a wide range of skill sets.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I do not like that my camera has to be on while I take an assessment when my screen usage and microphone are already being monitored. Feels like the ultimate invasion of privacy.

I use TestGorilla to apply for jobs and sometimes complete skill assessments for personal appraisals.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

It is quite good for assisting skills based on individual measures. It's super easy to use and can be implemented in no time. It has some the best features just like the proctored exam types. It can easily integrate with our platform workable.

The primary thing would be cost, which will be quite a lot for a small business. Assesment time should be customisable.

We wanted to ensure that before we phone screen any candidates, we wanted to see their technical skills so as soon as someone applies to our advertised position due to the integration with workable it automatically send the assessment and then we can review, and phone screen based on the results. This saves significant amount of our time.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

Ease of using website. Features that are anti-cheating. Has many assessments to choose from. Can make your own assessment. Good score measuring metrics. Easy to implement into recruitment.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Free assessments are irrelevant to our hiring. Tests can be way too much time for job applicants. Paid plans are only monthly or annual, no payment plans for per-use basis.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having assessments for soft skills such as attention to details. Additionally, being able to review and give feedback for the assessments is great for job seekers and shows that TestGorilla (TG) is always looking to improve. Another aspect is showing who made the test and their credentials. Anti-cheating and disability features are also very good and I like that users of the free plan can use them.

TestGorilla is an excellent platform for streamlining the hiring process! The site is incredibly intuitive and easy to use, making it simple to set up assessments and send links to participants. The wide variety of tests available allows for a comprehensive evaluation of both soft and hard skills, ensuring that candidates are properly assessed for the role.

The scoring system is accurate and insightful, saving me a ton of time in ranking candidates. Most importantly, it gave me confidence that I was only speaking to truly qualified individuals during interviews. If you’re looking to make smarter hiring decisions while cutting down on manual screening, TestGorilla is a game-changer! Highly recommend! 🚀

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

The only thing I would like to see improved is the pricing structure. Most testing platforms charge on a monthly basis, but for a small startup that only hires for replacements every few months, this can get expensive per hire. A more flexible purchase-per-role or per-hire billing option would make it much more accessible for businesses that don’t hire frequently.

Test Gorilla has allowed me screen out candidates that are the bottom of the pool so it saves me time in interviewing.

I understand that you want to include the recruitment module features, but I only used the testing part in it — the other recruitment functions are completely useless to me.

I love that even as a free member, you can access tests. The results are easy to read and give a lot of great information for these assessments. It's easy to send to multiple applicants at a time without having to create separate emails/documents for each one.

I would like to see a few more free options in assessments. I've used the OCEAN test and it provides really thorough results but I'd like to option to print a short version (like the summary with the boxes) and a long version.

We're trying it out to see if we're getting additional insights about applicants that we don't see or hear on interviews.

User experience has improved. Also, improvements in question libraray is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

One thing that could improve is loading time on some pages. When managing multiple assessments, the dashboard can feel a bit slow. Additionally, a few additional control options while building assessments.

So, First of all we can choose the test according to our requirements which is very helpful and it helps us to the candidate  even better if it matches our profile or not

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

Nothing.   This review template is systematically what's wrong with the philosophy of the company - it requires a minimum of characters in this field rather than leaving blank or a simple response.  Phishing for compliments.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Tried using it as part of company recruiting processes, including screening and skills questionnaires.  You can't get rid of the Test Gorilla branding, which is terrible.  The service is always remarketing itself to your end users, which is terrible.  The email invites always get flagged as spam, which is terrible.  When integrated with Greenhouse, it only returned summary scores, not the individual answers.  Not very useful.  And, it's expensive.  Replaced it with Microsoft Forms and a Power Automate for 1/10 the annual license fee.

Tried using.  Killed the license.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I really like the variety of tests they have for different positions. It seems there are hundreds of positions available and I love that they are automatically selected. I also like that it's easy and free to copy the link to implement it with candidates. I've used it a lot lately in the past few months and I've liked their free version. I also know that it's easy to integrate with other platforms and I see that as a plus. I also like the customer support, as there are several ways to contact the service. Fortunately, I haven't had the need to do so yet.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Something that could be improved is for the AI to better select the tests for each position. Also, there should be more specific tests, for example, the other day I was looking for tests for professional drivers and expected to find something like In-Person Customer Service, Safe Driving Test, Instruction Following Test, and such.
Another issue is that you should be able to create your own tests with questions suggested by AI according to a list of Tasks and Responsibilities you have for the vacancy in question. For example, if I am looking for an Air Traffic Controller with 12 tasks to evaluate. When creating the test, suggested questions for those 12 tasks to evaluate should appear.
Another issue is that there should be more simple plans for small companies with more limited functions but perhaps more tests available. Or that the possibility of creating tests is only available for a very premium version.

My main problems are clear. We want to better filter our candidates before an in-person interview. And your tests help as a filter to analyze which candidates are the most optimal or not.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

"The technical tasks are not good enough to assess the candidates' skills, customer service is not helpful, and the terrible company policy regarding the annual payment plan"
One of the main reasons we chose Test Gorilla was to create tasks for technical roles. However, over time, I’ve realized that the tasks on the platform don’t quite meet our expectations and are unable to fully assess our candidate's technical skills. They are either too simple or too difficult. Considering all of this, we have decided not to use the platform in our hiring process in 2025 and to return to our own assessment methods.
Since we didn’t cancel the subscription, the annual package was renewed. After contacting them within 1-2 hours to say that we didn’t wish to use the product, we requested a refund for the subscription fee. However, our refund request was rejected. Despite repeatedly stating that we will not be using their platform, they are refusing to refund our payment. It is truly disappointing that we have made a one-year payment for a platform will not be using.

It didn't solve my problem, I haven't gotten enough value from the platform.

It solves the challenge of screening large volumes of candidates in efficiency. Before, our team struggled with time-consuming manual screening and inconsistent interview quality. TestGorilla automates this with structured assessments, freeing up HR time and making sure every candidate is evaluated on the same time criteria. It's speed up our hiring and made it more consistent.

I love how flexible and customizable Testgorilla is, you can easily build assessments that truly fit the role. Plus, the candidate experience is smooth and intuitive. We've had great feedback from applicants who appreciated how clear and user-friendly it was

The reporting could be more detailed, especially when reviewing large batches of candidates. Also, the pricing can feel a bit steep for companies in the Middle East, especially smaller teams or startups

We mainly use TestGorilla to assess business development candidates, especially to gauge soft skills early in the process. It helps us cut through resumes quickly and focus on people who actually fit the role. The process is smoother for us and a lot more fair and enjoyable for candidates too

Friendly interface, nice design, the simplicity of the initial integration with the ATS we use (Breezy HR) and i guess,  the flexibility to create your own "package" of test by position

They have horrible customer service and support once you paid for the service, starting by the fact that they dont have native speaking analysts in all the countries that they offer the service (in our case Mexico) so communication is very difficult not only by lenguage but per time zone as well, once you sort this, they have incredible long waiting time to solve bugs or issues with their data base (we are about to reach 1 month without attention) and one of their most attractive test which is "Cultural add" is useless and requires tons of fixed and configuration not just "for company" but by "position"

I have never been so outraged by a company’s unethical practices. I contacted TestGorilla support to inquire about switching to an annual subscription. I never authorized any transaction or agreed to any terms, nor was I even told the cost of the annual plan during the conversation. Yet, because they had my card on file, they went ahead and charged me thousands of dollars without my explicit consent.

When I immediately reached out to clarify that I did not ask to be signed up for anything, their response was infuriating: “It’s too late.” They refused to cancel the subscription or refund the unauthorized charge, claiming that they executed this transaction on my behalf. This is beyond unacceptable—it’s outright theft!

This company’s business model appears to rely on misleading practices and trapping customers into subscriptions they never requested. To make matters worse, the lack of transparency and dismissive attitude from their billing and support teams shows how little they care about their customers.

The tests are suitable for getting a first idea of a candidate, making it possible to sort candidates even before the first rounds of interview. The customization process and the whole user excperience is very smooth, even for a first-time-user, making the implementation very convenient. Integrating testgorilla into our process was rather easy as well as we send out the test before we conduct the first interviews, somehow detatching it from the rest of the process.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Unfortunately, there are no difficulty settings, making it a little harder to apply the test for different types of profession. The mere classification among percentiles is not sufficient to address the need for different positions. An accountant would still need to score high, although at easier questions - the current system requires him to take the same test as a manager - the only difference would be that we now have to decide, how little points we can still accept.

Our hiring process, particularly in Nigeria, attracts lots of candidates who, based on their CVs, seem suitable. However, in the past, we would find out in the first round of itnerviews, that 80% were severely lacking the necessary skills for our jobs. Now, we can identify the candidates beforehand, drastically reducing the number of interviews that we need.

2 things I have appreciated:
1) The software had readily available assessments that fit my use case of needing technical assessments for a controller -- both with fundamental accounting multiple choice questions and a google sheet data manipulation assessment
2) The results show a raw score and a percentile rank so you can see how they stack up to the population who has also taken the exams

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I wish they had more assessments... I think they have ~400 in their library... If they had more spreadsheet exams / finance related exams that would be helpful to have a greater variety to choose from.

The people writing TestGorilla's tests are vetted subject matter experts who go through a rigorous selection process, and they don't work alone: they're paired with in-house IP development specialists who train them in test design and guide the process throughout. So even where a question comes from a single expert, it's shaped by a wider team rather than one person's judgment.

On top of that, every test is reviewed twice over - once by a professional copy-editor, and again by a second, independent subject matter expert who checks it for accuracy and technical correctness. The idea is that no test goes live on the strength of one opinion.

I like the feature to search and include technical assessments in the test, and the way score is shown foreach parts.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I won't says disliked but it would be better to include few more coding challenges for top frameworks like laravel and django

We liked how fast we can setup tech assessments without having to think much about creating it, and also like how we can check score, compare and watch history of the assessment.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I love how fast it is to set an evaluation for so many different profiles. I really prevent my team for wasting time with candidates that may not be up to the standard required for a position.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Having only the archive option for evaluations that are not needed. In my case while learning how to use it, it set up a couple wrong evaluations that I prefer to delete instead of archiving them.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to avoid unnecessary interviews with candidates that are not up to the technical skill needed for a position. In the past that had to be discovered in the first interview and now we only focus on the candidates that approve the initial test at the platform.

Nothing major but there was so many things to select from, it would be good if it was more simple and target as working in recruitment agencies if we send a test, we are only testing for one or two skill sets

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Checking if candidates are telling the truth about their skills before submitting to clients
