I like how it does all of the tracking, sorting, and reminding when it comes to managing technical assessments.

Super easy to follow and learn the system. My team was up and running within the hour.

It would be nice if it would automatically sort by 'status', like if someone starts their assessment they move up page.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anti-cheating measures. This was an issue we ran into a lot when it came to administering the assessment ourselves.

I am hoping for the resending of expired link will improve. A button for quick resending of link/invite should be more efficient rather than deleting initial invite and sending an invite again. We are dealing with high volume of candidates so any way to eliminate some extra steps are already significant.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I'm using TestGorilla to automatize my recruiting processes. Really user-friendly and makes the process of evaluating super easy.
One more thing - for me the most important - is super fast and helpful support. I thought me changing email and losing acces to my account would be an issue, but they solved it for couple of minutes and I didn;t lose any data. Thanks for that <3

Not very usefull for internal HR (like you can't use it to create 360 etc)

Recruitment. When we hire people for a position with MANY MANY candidates it's much easier when you can create an assessment and evaluate them in aone click. Also, really good feature - you can send email fromthe platform, so you don't need to do more work than necessary :)

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

Allows for unbiased and technical skill testing for areas that traditional interviewing methods cannot do. Also allows for reduced time to hire as you can implement qualifying questions. 
Customer Support has reached out a few times to assist with some inquiries so that was nice that they responded. 
I am implementing TG across all roles, and would like to see how it will be successful for niche roles in NFP - especially in the Major Gifts world. 
Very intuitive platform and easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Candidates have reluctancy to using third-party platform for testing. 
About 10% of candidates come back with technical issues (refreshed, skipped questions, was not able to complete).

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hard to assess technical skills (data analysis, mathematics) in a formal interview method - this allows for shortlisting within high volume of applicants and small talent team.
Qualifying questions allows for reduced time on phone screens.
Allows for reduced bias and equitable approach to hiring.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

TestGorilla is incredibly easy to use, offering one platform that stores all candidate assessments in an organised manner. I've been using the platform frequently for two years now and for candidates based in 10 different countries.  It's fairly easy to create tests from their bank and for multiple roles. The diversity of available tests is impressive and I appreciate that they are constantly developing and adding new features and assessments. This continuous improvement ensures the platform remains relevant and valuable for evolving hiring needs. Their customer support is great and they always respond to your inquiries. I cannot say much about integration with an ATS or HRMS as we rely on our customised in-house software.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

There are occasional technical glitches that prevent some candidates from completing their tests, which can be frustrating. Additionally, the layout needs more flexibility, especially when working with many columns, making it less user-friendly in specific scenarios. The package options are also strange – if I need more than 100 candidate credits, I have to upgrade to a significantly higher package, which is not cost-effective for my needs. So, I always buy extra credits if I utilise more than the 100 in my plan. More variety in the packages would be helpful. I'll share this feedback with their UX researcher for improvement.

It has removed our lengthy in-house assessment since candidates can take the test from home. It also reduces human error by intervention and ensures fairness for all candidates.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

TestGorilla was easy to use and had the specific software tests we were looking for. We tried to find alternatives while we were making our decision and we couldn't find one with the specific technologies we were hoping to test on for a senior developer position. Using testgorilla was easy and saved us on time interviewing people who did not have the competencies we needed for the role. Very helpful for HR and hiring. I like the limit of tests you can send at a time as well, to be respectful of people's time.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I wish there was an easier way to use the personality tests for current employees. You have to create tests as though you were hiring and I found the personality testing to be so helpful as a leader wanting insights into the preferred communication styles of the team and gain insights into each other. This meant making a fake position which I called Employee, but I wish there was an option for different use cases.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When hiring for technical positions it is difficult to guage competency from a resume and testgorilla helped us guage skills. The results were wildly different than what was in some resumes and this helped us identify who to interview.

We were able to consolidate our screening evaluations into one step through TestGorilla. Now our process is more efficient, less subjective, and easy to access and navigate for the recruiters and hiring managers alike. TestGorilla integrates with Lever, our applicant tracking system, for a streamlined and connected facilitation.

I use the app to evaluate every candidates due to its easy to navigate interface and comprehensive range of tests for both hard and soft skills. The tests are concise and time efficient, effectively assessing the desired skills. Additionally, the interpretation and results are detailed and easy to understand, and tests can be shared through various channels.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I find it inconvenient that once an assessment is shared with a candidate, it can't be modified. Sometimes, It's often only after the candidate has completed it that you realize the implementation might not be as effective as intended. Additionally, I wish there were an option to add more questions while creating a test and to delete assessments if needed.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not to just predict which candidates will be able to peform the roles they apply to but to know how they might react to certain scenarios and situations.
Besides, Test Gorilla helps us to identify and select those who will add value and will adapt easily to the culture of the organization.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I needed a way to do personality assessment with a scientifically validated source.   That is what started my search but I received so much more!  For the same price TestGorilla allows me to create unlimited assessments for different positions that are applicable to the role and also add the personality assessment.  Filtering the candidates is not only quicker but it is proving to give quantifiable results.

The system was so easy to use that I was up and running in the same day!

Some of the feedback I have received is that there are too many practice questions and you can't bypass them.

Assessing what candidates to push through to the hiring manager has become easier and I'm sending better candidates.  The skills assessment lets me know if they are qualified for jobs that are out of my depth.  Now I know from testing if they have the skillset necessary for the position.

The vast number of roles for a specific industry and the role-specific skills for those roles. It is beneficial in determining what skills to test on.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

To fully utilize the product, you have to be a full enterprise candidate. Some features I would want, while others I would not need.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can see what specific skills is needed and where are they in percentages of using those skills in if we hire them. I found out that many people tell me that they have the skills but after having them take the test. most of the people do not have at 50% of the skills. Also, most business owners always do not have time get their skills up to a level in a faster time to have the employee productive. Sometimes, we find very talented people based on their skills that they did not realize, and while others who have been in the role for many years have great skills to back up, they are great in their role.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

It is most helpful to a recruiter who has only a base knowledge of what the candidate and the hiring manager have a greater knowledge of. As a recruiter, I have lots of experience and knowledge in recruiting, sourcing, screening, in human resources generally. I am not an idiot. But I am not an expert in every field out there. I lack knowledge of certain computer programs, certain technical fields, and, of course, many industry-specific practices.  Test Gorilla has evaluation tools that fill that gap, that I can use to evaluate the candidate, and provide that evaluation to the hiring manager.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

It is not all-inclusive.  I would love to subscribe to one platform for everything.  That is not possible, of course, so I use things other than just TestGorilla.  Don't expect this to be a one-stop shop.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is filling in the gap of knowledge that I, as a recruiter, have.  My hiring managers know what they need, but how might I screen candidates for them when I lack the knowledge to evaluate candidates? TestGorilla provides that screening tool, to save my hiring managers' their time.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

We need to create a lot of custom questions for our applicants, and I love being able to tap into TestGorilla's huge library of questions. This has been tremendously helpful and has allowed me to improve the way I interview candidates. We use these questions as a preliminary screening tool, so that I'm able to identify the strongest candidates for a more traditional face-to-face interview. We are a remote company, and every time we're hiring, we receive hundreds of applications. There's simply no way I'd be able to talk to each candidate individually. TestGorilla has been a game changer for us.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

To view a candidate's response to each question, you do have to click through each individual question; I wish more of the candidate's application was visible at a glance without requiring so many clicks. Also, if you use their standard quizzes, you see the candidate's overall score, but you can't see their specific responses to each question.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using TestGorilla, assessing candidate skills was a very manual and time-consuming process for me. I typically find the hiring process difficult because I end up liking the candidates and therefore want to move forward with candidates I like but may not actually possess the skills they need to succeed in the role. Using TestGorilla, I can eliminate subjectivity from our hiring process and use automation to focus only on the candidates most qualified for the job.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

We receive a large volume of applications and going through thousands of CV's to make one hire is not effective. TestGorilla has made my life as a recruiter much more easy. I have access to an unlimted amount of assessments, so we have changed our process to assessing first and looking at CV's later in the process. I particularly enjoy the versatility that TestGorilla has. Aside from having assessments for various different roles and levels, I am able to create custom video interview questions, coding questions, multiple choice and essay questions.

As recruiters, we often find people applying for jobs which they do not meet the requirements, including qualifying questions before the assessments has been a great help. Those who do not meet the criteria are disqualified from the process.

A great addition is the proctoring functionality.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Whilst they have built in a support chatbot, once you escalate to an agent, it takes a while before an agent responds to you.

The assessment deadline feature should be modified so that I can extend the deadline for a specific candidate and not all the candidates in the process.

Lastly it does not integrate with our ATS via Zapier, we require a premium subscription on our ATS for integration with TestGorilla.

Streamlining our recruitment process. As opposed to previously scanning through thousands of CV's to fill one role, I can now assess thousands of candidates and only look at the best CV's later in the process based on their results.

We used the platform to hire engineers and some configuration related roles. We were in general happy with the non-engineering related test questions, but not amazed by it for engineers.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I don't think the tool is optimized to hire developers much. There are very few tests (it got better lately) and the questions are all rather simple. Therefore, we use TestGorilla as an initial interview step and do more face-to-face interviews later, which makes it a useful tool, but not as useful as we hoped.

What's not great is that many candidates (maybe with unstable internet, not amazing computers?!) report to us that they can't submit the test. This is why we are considering switching to another platform.

We can do initial screening with it. Not much more since the programming questions are rather basic.

It has been designed as per the industry needs - both technical and non technical. We can combine both as well.
The tests are sent daily, reporting is very easy. Overall implementation is very easy.
The tests can be sent in bulk, or in single as per the needs, and also we can integrate the usage of CSV or XLS to fetch details.
Our recruitement team uses it on a daily basis.

Pre created tests are a bit limited. Creating a new test is a bit tricky

It is doing the screening for the recruiters, which cuts down a lot of time and efforts. We usually send the test links to each and every candidate who applies, and then proceed to access them as per their score.

It's very useful to assess engineers, it's a major part of our interviewing loop and helps us make at least one step asynchonous. 
Also easy to navigate, pretty intuitive (with the exception of the email templates, which are pretty hidden).
Creating the quizzes is effortless and the CS team is always available to help.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Limitations in terms of what you can do with the platform - i.e. if you've been using it for a long time and you want to reavaluate a candidate who's already done the quiz in the past, you can't have them take the same test without deleting the first submission. 
Also pretty pricy for what it can do.
Integration with ATS (Greenhouse) could work a lot better - at times the grade that appears on the ATS isn't the same as the one on TestGorilla.

Helps with technical validation without demanding a lot of time from the engineers or leaders.

Very helpful in creating a balanced interview process for candidates that need to back up things in more detail than what is expressed in a conversational interview.  The essay questions were great! Lots to choose from and relevant to a lot of different roles.

I dislike not being able to buy it/subscribe to it without having to jump through a lot of hoops.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

Writing out my thoughts in in points:
1) Great interface
2) Video proctoring
3) Unlimited assessment - a life saver! 
4) Customizing your test battery
5) Hands-on CX support
6) Easy ATS integration

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

1) Extracting data is not user friendly and doesn't allow to customize the filters
2) Reminder emails aren't customizable (the TAT)
3) TG doesn't allow to communicate action on the integrated ATS (here: Greenhouse)

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unlimited Assessment so we can invite and maintain the influz of candidates
Video Recording to weed out applicants who aren't well versed with English
Email Writing to weed out applicants who are weak in written communication
Video Proctoring

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

They're software is good but their pricing is really bad.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

They're pricing is designed to trick you. There are many ways the accomplish this so this is a warning to others potentially trying out their software, either keep away, or read all of the T&C carefully. Otherwise, like me and many people I know in the startup space, you'll end up paying hundreds of dollars a month with no way to cancel. 

I even tried cancelling my CC and couldn't get them to stop charging my card. I called them, and appealed, but nothing worked. Was incredibly frustrating.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was supposed to solve hiring the right technical talent.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

TestGorilla provided our hiring team thorough and creative testing with real workplace applications. The assessments allowed us to better vet our candidates and have a better view of their skills and how they would fit into our company culture. The tests were easy to set up and the results reporting was extremely helpful. We would definitely recommend adding them to your process!

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

The only thing that we disliked about TestGorilla was that we could only add 5 assessments to each job posting. I believe that might have been remedied in a higher package though.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed candidates with very specific techinical and interpersonal skillsets and TestGorilla had job-specific assessments pre-built for these.
