## Solver Reviews
 ### 1. Effortless Reports with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** tom c. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I love that Solver is cloud-based and accessible anywhere, which makes it super easy to use. It's also highly customizable and can connect different systems' data seamlessly. Solver makes running reports simple for users, and after we do the heavy lifting of creating reports, it's very easy to adjust as needed. I also like that it can make the budget as detailed as you can imagine.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

We recently used all payroll names and titles for the payroll budget, but calculating payroll budgets for hourly employees is difficult and needed some estimation. We had some difficulty with requests to add more employees and adjust employee data, which had to be done on the data warehouse side.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver simplifies running financial reports and is highly customizable. It's cloud-based, accessible anywhere, and seamlessly connects different systems' data. However, estimating payroll budgets for hourly employees is challenging, and adjustments require data warehouse support.

 ### 2. Revolutionized Our Financial Reporting with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Titi S. | Senior Vice President of Finance, CFO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I like Solver because it's a big time saver and easy to use. The ability to prepare financial reports and do analysis tasks that would normally take two weeks can be done with just a click of a button. I appreciate how Solver makes it easy to create graphs for analysis and how quickly it produces reports. In a busy environment where there's constant pressure to complete tasks on time, Solver is a tremendous benefit. The automation of financial reporting has been extremely helpful.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

I think it would be nice to have the graphs that are done to be ready to go. So graphs, tables, and icon or legends can be fixed so that when we run it, it automatically comes as it appears on the software system. That is a major thing that we believe can be improved.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Solver to save time in financial analysis and reporting, making it easy to automate tasks. It allows me to quickly generate reports, which would typically take weeks. Solver is a major time saver, especially in a demanding environment.

 ### 3. Robust Reporting, Integration Challenges

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I appreciate the ability to link Solver with Microsoft Business Central and update transactions in real-time. The reporting templates and foundation for building reports seem very robust, providing us with flexibility in our data and plenty of options for useful reports we can add in the future.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

I think there could be improvements on the implementation process. Often it seemed like Solver reps were too busy or dropped the ball related to our plan. We unfortunately are a month behind compared to the initial go live date for the company. Better communication through the week rather than only a follow-up call on a weekly basis. There are many times follow-up on progress via email would be helpful after the follow-up call or preparation for the follow-up call the next week. We are still working through it. As commented before, it has been a bit of a struggle with some delays.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver helps mitigate errors, reduce time on compiling reports, and offers flexibility in data analysis. Its integration with Microsoft Business Central and robust reporting templates are valuable for accessing and creating useful reports.

 ### 4. Good for reporting, not great on budgeting

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica J. | Budget and Financial Analyst III, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

The reporting in Solver works really well once the reports are built.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The budgeting portion does not like complicated budgeting with multiple departments and multiple funding sources. Solver cannot handle complicated business/government set ups. Building salaries and positions into the budget template is not reliable. If a user does not use solver daily, it can be difficult to run end user reports.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver is helping to create uniform reporting for our system.

 ### 5. Solver Highlights Hidden Trends and Opportunities for Pathways

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Delia B. | Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I use ad hoc reporting to prove things all the time. I am enjoying sharing the ease of creating reports. I have had a lot of very good Solver support in my build out of the program for my organization. I am ready to launch reporting that will guide Pathways to greater stability and growth.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

There are a few times when I have overwhelmed the system with data uploads and I do not know why. Also, I have found that the reports populate correctly when pulled out of the system. I don't know why that would be either.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using the system for our budgeting purposes and it is much simpler than our approach in the past

 ### 6. Streamlined Reporting with Minor UX Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I like the ability to create report packages and update budget templates within minutes. The budgeting templates also allow us to make changes quickly and push out updated statements faster than before. We have multiple departmental statements, and we are able to run all of the statements when we create them in a package. The initial setup was pretty easy, and our implementation team provided a good amount of training to ensure we knew how to build reports and use the budgeting templates.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

I wish that the designer was a bit more intuitive. It takes a while to create a new report from scratch.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver improves our reporting and budgeting process, allowing for quick changes and faster statement updates. I like creating report packages and updating budget templates within minutes, which lets us handle multiple departmental statements efficiently.

 ### 7. Solver Ascend 2025 Training/Conference

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tracy N. | Chief Financial Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

The solver training on Monday and Tuesday was very informative, relevant, and useful. I learned new things that I will use for Solver report creation, that I didn't learn during the implementation phase for Indiana Health Centers, Inc. The support that was provided during the training was very helpful in understanding the benefits and use of Solver reporting. The general sessions provided information that will allow me to continue to maximize the benefits of Solver. Prior to the training/conference I didn't understand the use or benefit of CoPilot. Overall a great learning opportunity.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The only dislike was that a couple of the general sessions were not what I expected based on the information provided for each session. One specific session was on Solver and Profromas.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver has improved the reporting process by reducing the amount of time staff spends preparing monthly financial reports for the Board of Directors. The report preparation time was reduced from approximately 2-3 hours each month to approximately 15 minutes.

 ### 8. Real-Time P&L Updates, but the View Details Feature Needs Fixing

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah E. | DIPPR Executive Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Solver?**

seeing real time updates on my profit and loss sheet.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The view detail function doesnt always work for me.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to see my finances sooner without having to wait for manual updates from my finance dept.

 ### 9. Powerful Data Gathering, But Reporting and Organization Need Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Solver is an excellent database for gathering information from multiple sources and generating reports.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Creating reports comes with a significant learning curve, and I often find myself needing to reach out to partner consultants for help. The publishing features are quite limited, which adds to the challenge. Additionally, keeping everything organized is tough—I have a large number of reports that I’ve started but don’t want to delete, yet I also don’t want them cluttering categories and causing confusion for others.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver addresses the challenge of managing data from multiple sources, which is particularly helpful for us since we generate reports using information from various places. This capability has made our reporting process much more efficient.

 ### 10. Efficient Time-Saver That Boosts Productivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elsa R. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Solver?**

efficient, time saver, love the clean reporting

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

sometimes updates can take too long. Need more time

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

reporting function for multiple entities it saves us time

 ### 11. Solver Has Transformed Our Finance Department!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rich Y. | Finance Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Solver has significantly improved our finance operations. Its Excel-based platform makes report building incredibly intuitive, especially for users already familiar with Excel. Administration is straight forward - maintaining metadata, security, and business rules is easy and doesn’t require much effort. The software is also highly reliable with minimal downtime, which helps keep productivity high.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Honestly, there's very little to dislike. Occasionally, getting familiar with new features takes a bit of time, but Solver’s responsive support team quickly helps resolve any confusion.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver has helped us streamline financial reporting, simplify administrative tasks, and ensure data consistency across departments. It saves us time and reduces errors, ultimately boosting our overall efficiency. A tremendous improvement over our previous process prior to Solver.

 ### 12. Excellent tool to automate analysis and reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

With Solver's automated integrations, we no longer need to manually download data from multiple sources and format it to meet reporting needs. We can easily create report templates, saving hours of work when modifying large Excel models to change reporting format, roll forward into new reporting periods, or bring in new data. The fact that Solver is easy to learn by team members who are familiar with Excel is a great bonus when it comes to training.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The biggest downside for us is that creating new reports can still be a time consuming process. We do not use D365 and therefore do not have access to the template marketplace, and having access to these templates would be extremely valuable. In addition, AI functionality would be extremely valuable if it could help quickly create new reports or draft new rules.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great tool for centralizing data from multiple sources and automating our reporting processes. The input template functionality will also allow us to quickly collect information from different business functions so that we can more efficiently prepare budgets and rolling forecasts.

 ### 13. Solving my problems

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

The data aggregation componenet is my favorfite part of solver.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

There are some things from like a user perspective that just don't quite make sense. For example, Publisher operates only on a calendar day basis. The vast majority of organizations close their books on a business day basis, so having that functionality would make publisher more usable.

I also do not like the inability to automatically and conditionally hide rows that visually display 0, but actual have underlying transactional data.

For example, we might have 1 debit and 1 credit for accounts receivable, that adds up to approximately 0, but not 0 exactly. From a visual perspective, we can't automatically hide those rows. So we have to go into the excel, modify the document, then save. Perhaps some sort of rounding function built into the "hide blank or near blank" rows would do the trick.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating the generation of reports without having to exclusively use Excel.

 ### 14. Solver equips you with all the tools you need for budgeting and financial reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donna V. | Financial Information Systems Analyst, Sr., Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

As a report creator for our organization, I have been able to use my Excel skills paired with Solver's robust functionality to create dream come true reports with ease. For other users looking for on demand data pulling, Solver's Ad Hoc Reporting allows for folks to slice and dice the data to get what they need. During our annual budgeting process, Solver's writeback templates and assignments has made creating, reviewing, editing, and finalizing our budget a seamless process. Staff at Solver have a wealth of knowledge and are easily accessible to help provide service when needed. The connection with our ERP is automated and seamless.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

When migrating to the cloud platform, a few functions were no longer available in the cloud that existed in the on-premises environment. While they are working on building some back, there are a few that have not been rebuilt.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver has helped us to make meaningful use of our data, allowing us to make more timely and accurate business decisions.

 ### 15. New Implementation of the Solver Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

We moved to Solver as an add on to our transition from and older accounting software to Microsoft Business Central. We were initially drawn to Solver through our need for more robust financial reporting that we weren't getting elsewhere. After spending the last 6 months in Solver, and attending their annual Ascend conference, I have found other areas of business we can utilize the platform in, such as sales dashboards, KPI metrics, project tracking, and much more.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

There is a significant learning curve with the solver system, but luckily they have a healthy knowledgebase full of videos and articles on how to most effectively use the system.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver is allowing us to provide more complicated multi-location and multi-entity financial reporting, with consolidation capabilities.

 ### 16. Essential Tool for Streamlined Budgeting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

It is very helpful with our budgeting process

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

If anything it would be that I have to save it frequently or risk the data I entered is lost.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Uploading our previous data and using it for comparison.

 ### 17. Solver is great!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Blake P. | Financial Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I like the data warehouse and the different ways you can integrate different software's. We implement several of our custom systems as well as BC, and excel files.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Sometimes the exact details aren't clear for certain error messages and make it difficult to figure out what the exact problem is, especially on input templates.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Putting our data all together in one spot where we can combine different modules and deminsions to get exactly what we need.

 ### 18. Proactiveness in making things right

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mai L. | Supervisor of Budget, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

What is most helpful about Solver is they will resolve and answer your concerns promptly. Solver is a power tool that can help plan and report.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Solver does and does not function like an excel. I wish it can filter and find function in the planning and report setting instead of export to Report Designer.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to create Budget, Personnel and Capital forms in Solver. Storing data and retrieving past data for forecasting.

 ### 19. Accelerate Better Decisions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I like you can use excel formulas together with Solver commands. For the most part that makes the reporting super easy and very flexible.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

It is not always user friendly and if there is an issue it can be hard to figure out.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Financial reporting

Solver reports are very easily adjusted to answer a specific question.

**Official Response from Stacy Pitts:**

> Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it and take it very seriously. Our training team is currently working on updating Solver Academy to create shorter videos and documents to make the learning process/path more accessible, including creating material on best practices in summing values in reports. If you need additional resources at any time, please contact us @ customercare@solverglobal.com.

 ### 20. Great program, but I have a long wish list

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noelle P. | Report Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

*I can rely on Solver as a tool to get financial reporting done.
*The API to powerBI has worked flawlessly so far.
*User's ability to load their forecasts and budgets directly into the scenario.
*Security is easy to implement
*Security settings staying constant throughout all the different modules e.g., reporting archive, input template, etc.
*I like the role that was created in Solver for more technical customer support without having to escalate questions/needs e.g., Steve

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

*Data Explorer's load time is slow. I'd like the initial view limited to 100 records to speed it up.
*Unable to control the report archive for my users. I want to be able to delete reports in their archive, similar to being an admin in a workspace.
*Parameter naming is inflexible. I had an issue where a previous report creator was using 'periods' and I was using 'period'. This created a confusing extra period filter in the report archive for users. To fix this, I had to delete the old parameter out of every report and setup a new paramter. Then I had to publish the report to the report archive and now my users have 2x the report because I can't control their archive space.
*Default LID entry in input templates. My users think it's clunky and they constantly make mistakes while using it e.g., leaving the last column cell blank & somehow breaking it by putting a value in the main line (even though I thought that wasn't supposed to be possible... they found a way to break it). I then have to clear out everything, save, and re-enter in the LID section.
*Solver is very slow sometimes or has issues fetching drill-down data or it fails. I'd like to have an indication of when Solver is experiencing a slowdown or issues.
*Customizing a drill-down in a report is cumbersome.
*No way to 'view as' a role. In many programs I admin, I can 'view as' a role so I can interact with the program the way the user is enabled to.
*Auto-save feature for input templates. I had 2 users enter their budgets and not his save this cycle.
*Overhaul the look and UI experience of input templates. I had some users complain that it wasn't "slick looking"... I get that it's Excel, so maybe at least Learning Academy courses on beautifying a report template and best practices for the user experience.
*Maybe I missed this option, but there is no way (?) to get a summary of my publisher jobs for the day so I can see what ran or did not run easily.
*Lack of user community. With many other software programs, users can respond and try to help others, and then an official representative of the software responds occasionally. The Solver community forum is a borderline ghost town.
*Need the ability to lock roles in the planning security section instead of having to lock the entire scenario down
*Metrics on how often reports are viewed and by what users

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver enables our company to quickly build up its future financial picture. Since the department heads can enter their budgets and forecasts directly into Solver, we get the information ASAP. This helps our executive team intervene if necessary, informs their decision-making, and helps them with their plan.

 ### 21. Reporting made easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole C. | Senior Director of Financial Accounting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I love that this syncs to our accounting software daily and we are able to pull and create reports for all our communities in one report/file that would otherwise take us several hours to create. I also appreciate that once we have taken time to create a report, we can pull that for every month, community, etc. that we need! We are in Solver daily to pull the items that we need. This is also a huge component for our budget. The ease of use for budgeting is terrific!

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The linking of spreadsheets can be difficut sometimes due to the nature of how solver works. We are usually able to figure it out.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having all our budget infromation in one central location. Being able to pull/create reports for all our communities, which have separate books and would otherwise need to be pieced together.

 ### 22. Love Solver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis A. | Financial & Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I really love the new additions of connectors for Solver that allows us to connect to our lakehouse in fabric

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

I would like the consumption of data to be faster for integrations

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Solver to consolidate reports and provide commission reports to our users

 ### 23. Great tool for reporting needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

The ability to receive user input data, without a big ERP system behind is very helpful for our organization. Great integration with Excel, allows for automated formatting that is operations team friendly.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Having to make changes to historical data after adding a new dimension can be a bit tricky.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Financial reporting using NetSuite data - allows for formatting and very nice presentation layers, budgeting and forecasting - allows user input data, reporting on POS Data.

 ### 24. Solver Review - Cavaliers Holdings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob D. | Manager, FP&A and Treasury, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Solver’s user-friendly interface and customizable reporting features are the most helpful aspects for me. The ability to easily create, modify, and distribute reports allows for more efficient data analysis and decision-making. Additionally, Solver’s integration with various data sources streamlines the process, making it easier to consolidate information and gain insights quickly.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

One of the least helpful aspects of Solver is its occasional complexity in setup and configuration. While it offers powerful features, getting everything optimized and customized to fit specific business needs can sometimes be time-consuming, especially for users without technical expertise. Additionally, some of the advanced features require a steeper learning curve to fully utilize.

The main downsides of using Solver include the initial implementation effort and the occasional difficulty in troubleshooting issues. Integrations with other systems, while valuable, can sometimes lead to compatibility challenges or slowdowns. Additionally, depending on the version or package, certain advanced features might come with higher costs, which could limit accessibility for smaller teams or organizations with tighter budgets.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver is helping me address challenges related to reporting and financial analysis. Its Excel-like interface makes customizing our reports much easier, allowing us to tailor the data presentations to meet specific business needs. The ability to quickly create, modify, and distribute reports has significantly improved our efficiency in data analysis and decision-making. By streamlining these processes, Solver helps us better understand our financials, identify trends, and make more informed business decisions.

It helps standardize our budgets across teams.

 ### 28. Database backed Excel functions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Simplicity. If you use Excel you'll be ok

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Some limitations in functionality but very few and largely from inefficiencies on the data side of our ERP. Has caused some good rework of our account and dimension structures to get the reporting right.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily financial reporting. Its a lightweight but powerful solution that allows us to manipulate and report data from the ERP quickly and accurately.

 ### 29. Very useful but has its quirks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Solver has helped us completely transform our budgeting process. Once we understood how report and input forms are created and managed it has pretty much allowed us to see the information we need to see quickly and gave us the ability to share those reports with those who need them the most.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

It definitely has its quirks. If we are using two different input forms and they are not programmed to save in the exact same way we end up with a lot of duplicated data. Lesson learned on our end. Also, when working with Solver employees to help us figure out why a form isn't working the way we think it should be, they are not always the most responsive.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have more than 20 locations to budget and Solver has cut down on the time needed to get those budgets into a reviewable format and out to management for review.

**Official Response from Stacy Pitts:**

> Thank you so much for your feedback! We appreciate your partnership! All of our cloud customers have a customer success manager assigned to their account. I highly recommend reaching out to the CS department: customercare@solverglobal.com. Your CSM can assist in getting answers, connecting you with a resource, etc. In general, we just love to help!

 ### 30. Solver Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Ease of report customization, Excel based reports.
Integration setup is simple to modify when adding/modifying accounts.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

When having to print to distribute I would like to stack my reports and send to PDF in a packet instead of having to save each individually.
I would like data updated to run faster or have live data link.
Delay in support from our BC partner.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to get detailed departmental reports to better understand manufacturing costs.

 ### 31. Streamline Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kellie T. | Vice President of Corporate Accounting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Solver has helped to streamline reporting. Data can be organized quickly and easily.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The most challenging part of Solver is getting started. The sky is the limit once you become comfortable with the software!

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver is helping to streamline & organize the budgeting process. It is also simplifying KPI reporting.

 ### 32. Awesome FP&A

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Ease of integration with Sage Intacct, great reporting and useful for budgets and forecasting.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

New to product, and somewhat difficult to fix errors in budget report formatting.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

budget and forecasting

 ### 33. New to Solver and looking forward to continuing to learn it's full capabilities

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael D. | Corporate Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

There is a lot of customization. We have an incredibily difficult report that has routinely been created manually. The Solver team has worked hard to integrate our ERP system with Solver to customize and create this report automatically. This is a significant enhancement for us and improves efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The implementation process has been very slow. The work has been challenging, but we have been paying for a tool that we have not been able to fully use.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our ERP system has a terrible Budget tool. Solver is allowing us to have improved visiblity for budget to actual. It is also significantly improving our budget creation process.

 ### 34. CBM Solver Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Solver utilizes Excel. It easily outputs custom financial statements.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

I haven't found features I dislike yet...

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver can produce custom financial statements for Strata's many divisions.

 ### 35. Solver is a great tool but complex to create reports.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Customer support is helpful and respond quickly.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Not as easy to setup reports but once setup easy to run.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Forecasting and budgeting.

 ### 36. A Game-Changer for my Work Efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I love the data warehouse functionality coupled with the ease of use of the Excel interface. I was already proficient in Excel so I didn't need to learn a whole new program to build reports with the data we have in Solver.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The initial setup was rocky for us becuase the Solver pros didn't understand our data and how we use it, and we didn't initially understand the ins-and-outs of how Solver is set up. Now that we understand the program we are making changes to set it up the best way for us but it is more difficult to make those changes after the fact.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver allows us to respond to reporting requests much more quickly and take a ton of manual effort off of our team. It allows us to join disparate data sources together to create a full-picture report for decision-makers in far less time and effort than it used to, and with more accuracy.

 ### 37. Comprehensive Solution for our Budgeting and Financial Reporting Needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devorah M. | Finance ERP Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

We purchased licenses with Sage Intacct and contracted with Solver to compliment/round out reporting functionality. From the moment we first saw the demo, we knew the solution would fit our needs. The product is flexible enough to integrate with our extremely complex build (we have over 20 entities) and has streamlined our reporting process. The Report Designer allows us to meet the diverse needs of all our users – finance staff, executives, and Board members. Solver has changed the way we can view our data and our system’s financial standing.

The Budget module, with highly customized templates designed for our needs, is amazingly flexible and efficient. We no longer need to manually build, edit, blend, and upload multiple Excel workbooks. Now, individual business users can input their own department data into one central template. The smaller agency budgets flow seamlessly into the overall budget – saving time, reducing errors, and providing a clear view from top to bottom.

We are grateful to have highly skilled, responsive integration and support experts who can hear our needs and quickly create and fine tune reports and budget templates. Without their expertise we would not be able to leverage the full power of the Solver platform.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

We love Solver! We have nothing negative to report.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Budgeting
Reporting

 ### 38. Rolling forecasts are changing how we do business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Sophisticated reports and input templates can be created by non-programmers. Our rolling forecast input templates have vastly improved the budgeting process for our franchises (over 100). Support has always been responsive and very helpful. The incremental feature improvements with each release keep adding functionality that is beneficial to us.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

We have over 100 entities on Dynamics Business Central on premise, and this makes it impossible for us to use the BC connector. We are able to use the SQL Server connector, and it works well, but it is not real-time integrated, since we have to push data from our BC system to a data warehouse and then import into Solver. The on premise gateway is unstable and cannot be parallelized. Hopefully our update issues will be resolved, once we get our warehouse into Azure SQL.

I find that reports run slower and slower over time, until a Solver update/release, after which it goes faster again. I assume this has to do with rebuilding indexes or something like that.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a franchisor, with over 100 franchises. Our rolling forecast templates have made the budgeting process far simpler and more powerful. We also use this for playing out scenarios, such as:
- How long will it take to break even if I hire a new sales executive, factoring in salary, commission, training/ramp up period, and monthly sales projections?
- What will be the impact to my cashflow if I take on a new client of $x per month, costing me $y per month, and billing on net 60 terms?
- What will be the impact on my revenue if I raise monthly prices by x% across my client base? Or on a select group of clients?

For our group of over 100 business owners, ranging in annual revenue from just starting to over $40M, these tools have been game changing, compared with our old Jet Reports limitations of pretty much just seeing balance sheets and cashflow statements.

 ### 39. Solver is OKAY.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Once a report is set up, it generally runs without problems.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The support is not great. The training is not great. The conference is just a big sales pitch. It's glitchy.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's better than trying to do reports in Excel.

 ### 40. SOLVER is saving what is turning out to be a terrible ERP migration frm Microsoft GP to Microsoft BC

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raymond L. | Controller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

It created a solution for our financial reporting issues which out of the box Business Central didn't have.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Nothing; it is very well designed. The software add on is very intuitive.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lack of financial reporting capabilities in out of the box Microsoft Business Central

 ### 41. Solver is a great financial reporting software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle D. | Senior Staff Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

My favorite thing about Solver is that it is easy to use once an individual gets over the learning curve. In our accounting department, we have built multiple reports that have improved the efficiency and integrity of our financial reporting. We have also reduced the timing of our month-end close process 2 - 3 business days due to implementing new Solver reports.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The Data Warehouse and mapping everything can be cumbersome. Also, in my experience when a user is in the middle of creating or updating a report Solver can sometimes kick you out causing an user to lose their work. I recommend saving as often as possible.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving is helping us reduce manual processes in our department and example would be our intercompany, we build a report that has the capalibity to look at intercompany accounts across companies helping us identify what journal entry need to be posted to make sure both side equal each other. It's a great tool.

 ### 42. Great tool that is better than I expected when I started with it.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fredrik J. | Senior Financial Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

The easiness to create reports both in report builder, Ad Hoc report and Budget module

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Sometimes it is a little slow but it could be my internet.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to create Budget versions and easy upload into it from Excel

 ### 43. Very solid reporting solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

The integration is very straightforward, as is the report building. For an experienced Excel user the onboarding process is very simple. The filtering/report building process is easy to grasp.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Our refresh times could be better, this could be solved with a direct connection.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are undergoing an accounting software switch and needed a solution for financial reporting. Solver allowed us to build standardized reports we can use for all of our entities.

 ### 44. Really enjoying using Solver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

The most helpful thing is the ease at which one can write reports. They are extremely powerfull as you can pull just what you need.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

It does not allow you to input data and associate it with detailed journal entries.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting a consolidated financial report run. Also replacing individual reports per Company. Now I can run a report and get it for all companies instead of having to reach into each Company.

 ### 45. Love Solver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shiran M. | Senior Financial Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

My favorite thing is the ability to use most of the excel functions within Solver. With the ability to store data to the dimensions we want coupled with all the excel features makes Solver an easy to use but powerful budgeting, planning, and reporting tool.
Solver's customer service and support has been top notch so far. Quick respond times, easy to setup meeting when ever support is needed and extremely knowledgable consultants.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

As a new user myself, there is a bit of a learning curve to master all of Solver's features. But there are enough resources within Solver to help navigate through the learning process.
Working space or reviewing space within the Solver website can be limited. You would need to export to excel for a better view but doing so may limit some of the features such as drilling-though line items.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been budgeting with mostly excel. We have been having numerous issues due to links breaking, formulas breaking and we could not establish proper workflows during the budgeting and forecasting process. Our organization is new to Solver and have started moving how budgeting and forecasting processes to Solver. We have been able to establish a good workflow and safegaurd the data within Solver. Solver makes it super easy to store historical data (both actual and budget) and generate reports using desired parameters easily.

 ### 46. Highly reliable, flexible and effective tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colin H. | Finance Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

The ease with which I can extract and display relevant and actionable data from the general ledger.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Very little. The downside to flexibility is too much complexitly for those not familiar with their data or the Solver tool.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Solver we are publishing Actual to Budget variance reports for the first time in our company's history (believe it or not) and we are running quarterly forecasting to help improve our annual budgeting process.

 ### 47. Powerful tool for budgeting and analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diana C. | Finance Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I love the built in excel functionality - no point in re-inventing the wheel. The possibilites in report designer are immense.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

It's a steep learning curve, especially if you're not already adept with excel.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have dozens of departments and the budgeting process was previously manual - time-intensive and with room for human error. Solver has made our budgeting and forecasting processes much smoother.

 ### 48. My Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dee K. | Sr. Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

I like how easily I can build reports, how intuitive the interface is for our users (even the ones who aren't designers/experts in Solver). Our consultant has always addressed our issues/etc extremley promptly.

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Workflows could use a lot of work, there needs to be a better way to file, store and manage templates. I would like to be able some reporting on users' activitiy, report usage, etc.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps make the Budgeting process more efficient - optimizes workflow to the point where we were able to implement a continuous Forecast model across our organization.

 ### 49. Great Product / Great Conference

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | Applications Support Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Intergration with reports and customer service

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

Some reports opening slower than others. We are still using on-prem but in the process of moving to cloud. Hopefully moving to the cloud will resolve this.

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solver is helping us view all our data in one location instead of running reports in multipule locations.

 ### 50. Solver Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessie N. | Vice President, Accounting and Finance , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Solver?**

Solver is a good tool for budget and forecasts if used correctly. Solver could be shared with planned user groups and roles

**What do you dislike about Solver?**

The design could be difficult and require training

**What problems is Solver solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us to do annual budget and monthly forecasts
