**What do you like best about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

I like how it produces different report that I had to build in my past job that uses a different project management software. It also integrates with Quickbooks online so that invoices feed automatically. It is also easy to use. I started using this without any training at all. Learning curve is very easy.

**What do you dislike about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

Currently it won't do percentage of completion revenue recognition as well I want it to. There are workarounds but I'd rather have the solution built-in the software itself.

**What problems is Ruddr Professional Services Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It avoids duplication of work so that I don't have to prepare Quickbooks invoices from scratch. Ruddr invoices feed to Quickbooks automatically. There are so many reports available that it avoids me having to build them in Excel. I'm having fun creating custom reports too.

It’s a convenient platform for logging our hours. It’s easy to manage and simple to enter time, and the best part is that we can copy last week’s row to add hours quickly. Overall, it feels straightforward to use, and the UI looks pretty good and user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

I haven’t found any real downsides to Ruddr yet. The only parts that felt least helpful for me were the reporting and “my tasks” options, mainly because I haven’t used them. Other than that, everything I have used so far has been quite good.

**What problems is Ruddr Professional Services Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In our case, Ruddr is used mostly for time tracking, and it provides an easy, time-saving way to add hours instead of relying on manual entries. The best part for me is being able to copy last week’s time entries, which makes filling out the timesheet much faster. Ruddr’s professional services automation also works well, it sends automated reminders to complete timesheets, and the auto-submit automation is quite good too. It actually helped me once when I logged my hours but forgot to submit, Ruddr auto-submitted the timesheet for me.

I really like how simple the interface of Ruddr Professional Services Automation is. It was so easy to understand that what was supposed to take weeks actually took just a couple of days. Multiple people in our organization who were testing the software knew how to navigate the system quickly. The interface is really clean and simple enough where nothing is confusing, and all of the data is connected in a way that makes it very intuitive and clickable.

**What do you dislike about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

There are definitely areas that I wish were a little more detailed, specifically the reporting. Even though the reports they have out of the box are all great, there are specific reports that we're interested in about utilization per person against specific clients. Our workaround is going to be an API in some sort of day data visualizer. But, ideally, there would be a report builder in Ruddr where I wouldn't have to go off platform to create something custom.

I find the service revenue forecasting and gross margin tracking features of Ruddr Professional Services Automation extremely valuable as it allows me to get a sense of profitability before closing the books. The system's reporting is really helpful, providing several ways to look at how the business is going and what contributes to our success. Switching to Ruddr from our previous tool was a great move because it's modern, cost-effective, easier to use, and more functional for our business. The initial setup went well through the use of Ruddr's Migration Services, which was a positive experience.

I'm looking forward to having expense report management integrated into QuickBooks. We hear it is coming in Q1 2026, and we are excited about it. After that, all of our key needs will be met.

The best thing about Ruddr is that the resource allocation section is super user friendly and easy to use. It is really easy to drag and drop and easy to get people to learn how to use it.

**What do you dislike about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

The thing I most dislike is that I feel some basic functionality is missing which can make more work than needed. For example, there is no bulk deletion of tasks - a simple checkbox would be great (Similar to what they have on the time entry one). 

I also don't think that the project management element of the platform is as user friendly as I would like to use it.

**What problems is Ruddr Professional Services Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that Ruddr is solving is our resource management. Previously we were using a spreadsheet to do all resourcing which was open to human error and mistakes. Each team also did reousrcing differently which was a nightmare. With Ruddr, there is a uniform process and we can actually trust the data that we are getting from the platform. 

In doing this, it saves time across the agency and creates multiple efficiencies across the agency too!

With a market oversaturated it can be difficult finding the right professional service platform. There is nothing that comes close to the simplicity and straightforward approach as Ruddr. The platform is easy to use, streamlined, and structured in a way that best suits my business needs.

Ruddr is continually improving while offering great support and taking in customer feedback. Have a wish list item? Just ask. They are happy to consider your feedback and assist. I'm happy to have found Ruddr years ago and have continued using it ever since.

It’s very convenient and flexible to use. For example, we can copy last week’s timesheets and paste them, which saves a lot of effort. It also makes it easy to track the budget.

For beginners, it can be a little complex, since they need some prior training to use it properly, especially during the initial setup.

**What do you like best about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

I find project setup is easier than our previous system. I appreciate the quick responses from Ruddr when we have questions or problems. Time entry is pretty quick, and I like how the SSO with M365 works very well. Our previous system was painful to log into, and with Ruddr's integration with our M365 accounts, accessing it is much easier and quicker. The initial setup was very easy, QuickBooks integration was very easy, and integration with Salesforce was a little involved but not bad at all. Migration took some effort but was better than expected.

**What do you dislike about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

PTO approval is lacking (need to pre-approve, not when submitting a timesheet). Expense integration with QuickBooks is missing but coming soon, I believe. I'm still new at creating reports, but our previous system had a report builder. Ruddr lets me save filters as a report, but that only goes so far.

I use Ruddr Professional Services Automation for easy time entry, tracking project gross margins, and simplifying invoicing. It makes project setup easier and provides quick support when needed.

What I really like about Ruddr’s attendance management system is how easy it makes everything. It’s super user-friendly, and you can track attendance, hours, and time off without any hassle. I love that it’s automated, so there’s no need to worry about manual updates or errors. Plus, it connects perfectly with project tracking and billing, which keeps everything in sync. It’s one of those tools that just quietly makes daily work smoother and more organized.

**What do you dislike about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

I think Ruddr’s automation system is great overall, but there are a few things that could be better. Some of the advanced features take a bit of time to figure out, and a few parts of the interface could be more intuitive. I’d also love to see more flexibility with reports and integrations. Sometimes, small bugs or slowdowns pop up after updates, but they’re usually fixed fast. It’s a solid tool that just has room to grow in a few areas.

**What do you like best about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

User friendly interface, reporting capability is amazing, value for money, great customer service and support (especially with onboarding of employees). 
We loved that the system included capability addressing pipeline management, project management, resource planning and so much more.
As a consulting company, Ruddr fits our business model like a glove and it is clear that Ruddr really understands our type of business and has created software that solves for our unique problems and challenges. 
Number of features compared to price was excellent compared to other systems we considered.

The only thing we wish Ruddr had: 
- leave management 
- capability to create quotes or proposals from the system
- integration with Outlook Calendars

The reporting is still developing although you can download all of the information that you need and work with it in excel. The filters are great to help narrow down what you need and there are customer definable tags to help slice and dice but would love to have a few more features to make it really robust. The reporting continues to get better with each release (saved reports, scheduled reports, yay!) but the one thing that is frustrating is that the columns continually change as more fields are added (new fields are a good thing) and this makes repeatable automated editing impossible.

**Recommendations to others considering Ruddr Professional Services Automation:**

It's more powerful than it first appears because it's so easy to use and the interface looks so simple and clean - but once you dig into how to meet your requirements, you'll see how really flexible it can be.  Ruddr's commitment to keeping it clean and intuitive ensures that it won't get clunky over time like other tools that I've used in my 20+ years running professional services teams.

After conducting a comprehensive review of Professional Services Automation software, I found Ruddr to strike the perfect balance between capability and affordability. Ruddr offers nearly all of the advanced features provided by higher-priced “enterprise” products—and in some cases, it delivers even more. The platform is intuitive and easy to use, with excellent shortcut options for consultants entering timesheets across multiple projects or in repetitive time-entry scenarios. It also provides strong support for a variety of project engagement models and billing methods. Our team of 50+ consultants uses Ruddr almost daily, with all activity—across both client projects and internal work—captured seamlessly.

Implementation was straightforward. Historical data was migrated without the need for paid consulting services, and integration with our accounting system was simple to configure. The system has fully met our invoicing requirements, including credit note integration.

Support has been consistently friendly, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Importantly, the Ruddr team has welcomed our product improvement suggestions, and we’ve already seen several of these incorporated into the platform.

There is not a lot to dislike, there are however a few features that I think could be included in future releases:

It's very user friendly and logically set up which reduced training for users a lot. Ruddr's implementation team did a great job explaining all features and integrations and made the implementation very efficient and easy (four weeks from kick off to go live).
Since our go live four months ago, important additional integrations were added (Rippling and HubSpot) and the support team was always available to support the implementation of the integrations.

I use it every day at work, and it integrates with other platforms easily.

Some of the features have limitations that make them unhelpful - e.g. an automatic report can be set up to run at specified intervals, but you can't pick the time range that you want the report to have. Love the quick usability and functionality - great with time tracking and ease of use. The variety of reports and filtering I can do against users has been useful. As well the time auditing and ability to add File and RYGs is awesome!!!

**What do you dislike about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

As a Project Manager, we have monthly budgets or work with T&Ms but those T&M's don't always have a budget. But if we want to use the multiple views/budget they can be a bit tricky to get accurate due to how our projects run. As well - for invoicing I understand why it is setup the way it is for Project Details regarding billing type etc. -- but we have had some of our users generate the projects and put the wrong billing type or the Client Address will change in the middle of a project (not often, more of edge cases) but being unable to change once time is either locked or invoice is applied has caused issues with updating reports.

One thing that would be great to add would be a Reject Time but Resubmit Approval option without having to unsubmit timesheet - and to note could be user error but Rejecting approvals doesn't actually alter the time billed on projects -- which causes confusion when doing Status reports.

And a Save & New Time Entry button would be great similar to how projects have the save & Create New Task button

Finally, maybe an option to add automatic reminders to submit timesheets, or track when certain users haven't submitted for the week -- there is auditing, but I mean just a user name and submitted or unsubmitted time sheet view, not all their individual entires

Solving time tracking and quicker status reporting can be done, as well as tracking our client projects at a simpler level

We implemented Ruddr in 2023.  I have used two other competitive applications over the years and this is my favorite of the three by far.  Implementation was much simpler.  The application did not require lengthy customization before we could use it.  We quickly integrated it in with the rest of our tech stack.  The application had the right feature set for our consulting services business such that we were able to quickly fit it into our process.  It is easy to use for our back office personnel as well as for our consultants that are managing their projects and billings with the application.  We now rely on Ruddr as a mission critical app for our business.

We have zero complaints.  The application works great and customer service has been great.

**What do you like best about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

We run a consulting business with ~50 staff. We outgrew our existing time and project management system, we were supplementing system capabilty with excel, Power BI, and manual processes outside of the system which prompted us to look for a system that could do everything we needed both operationally and enable us to make data driven decisions to drive the business forward. 

It was obvious when we tested Ruddr that it was built by professional services people for professional services people. The system is intuitive, easy to use, and has all features that our business required. We were able to retire our Power BI reporting and manual forecasting and allocation tools and undertake all those activities within Ruddr. We now have financial data, utilisation, focasting, and work allocations all in Ruddr, which enables faster and better decision making.

Our team uses Ruddr daily, the team was able to switch systems and transition to Ruddr with little to no disruption to our business operations. Our data migration during implementation was well supported and accurate and responsive trouble shooting was provided throughout the process. 

Ruddr's implementation support was excellent, their sales team, implementation team, and customer success teams were all great to work with, readily available (even with an international time difference) and solutions focused.

**What do you dislike about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

There is a small trade-off between the amount of data available and the visualisation of data in the system, however if I had to choose between visualisation and the data available through Ruddr, I would choose Ruddr every time.

Ruddr has enabled us to systemise all of our manual management processes, it really does provide us with a single solution for managing service delivery, financial management, and business planning.

Could not find a report for comparing budget to actuals. We have a variance report, but having forecasted past and future allocations and actual time spent in both hours and dollars is one of the most important feature missing. Also if we can have dash board view by Client and project, it would really help. Right now it is available only by Project.

Ruddr offers the option to either enter the number of utilised hours or set a timer to calcuate time spent on a task, you can see allocated projects, roles and time expected to a project task. it offers detailed reports of captured time that can be exported to CSV, Excel and PDF.

I have had no issues so far, but a feature to integrate to platforms like devops to capture tasks and time set for it to calculate estimated project time, or automatically start the ruddr timer when that task is changed from new to active until closed would be helpful

On Ruddr, you can see allocated projects, roles and tasks that you can log time against, as well as client billing estimates depending on allocated time per project. This helps with time tracking to make sure work progress goes in a timely manner and estimating client/project billing.

Ruddr has made it easier for me and my colleagues to submit our time sheets, I quite like the fact that you can copy the previous weeks time entries. Its easy to navigate and understand, it intergrates well with our projects and everyday tasks. The UI is easy to follow and its very user centric. We had an issue a couple months back and the customer support was effecient and assisted us in a timely manner thus enabling us to be able to carry on with our daily tasks.

I haven't really come up with any issues so far whenever I user Ruddr, it is such an improvement from the previous software we used.

As an admin, it's easy to review everyone's hours approve/reject. 
Onboarding a new resource is quick.

**What do you like best about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

First, Ruddr was the ONLY time tracking tool that we looked at that perfectly met our needs, and I'm not just saying that. We are a professional services organization that bills resources on T&M hourly basis for both contractors and full time employees. We had trouble finding a product that accomplished the dynamic engagements we found ourselves in, but also that provided a platform that was simple and easy to navigate by our consultants + our administrative staff, who use Ruddr now daily, to see the current progress week-by-week, semi-monthly, or even monthly for each of our projects. The most important part is that all of the products we reviewed would have racked us over the coals with per person pricing. Because Ruddr's product is so good, I would be willing to pay more for the product (please don't charge me more too soon), but for an initial plan + onboarding implementation support (that was fantastic, thank you Jason), the cost was extremely reasonable and we're ecstastic we made this choice. For reference, we were operating off google sheets before. No longer. Also, the tool easily integrates with Quickbooks, where we do our billing.

**What do you dislike about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

I dislike that the company doesn't have even more functionality outside of time tracking. If they have built a product this good, then I hope we can bring even more of our daily HR/Finance tasks internally with Ruddr, but the fact they are hyper focused on this particular area is why they have knocked it out of the park. Hope to see more in the future, but extremely happy with what we have!

Ruddr allows us to onboard new clients and assign resources with extreme ease, and start to track our hours by project all in one screen. Easy for the consultant and for our administrative staff.

**What do you like best about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

I love how full featured the product is while also maintaining a simple and intuitive interface. I'm able to be very flexible about how projects are created. For example, creating a project as time & material, flat-fee, or even monthly flat-fee with an hours budget are all possible. While the team is small, I expect Ruddr to scale with the business. Their customer service has always been very responsive and easy to reach.

**What do you dislike about Ruddr Professional Services Automation?**

There are two things that Ruddr could improve. 

1. Integrations. There just aren't very many integrations available. For us, Quickbooks is the most important, but if we ever wanted to move from QB to a different accounting solution, it would be difficult due to the lack of other integrations. This is just an observation. For us, it's not even an annoyance at the moment.

2. Reselling products. It is possible to resell products (very common as a vCISO), but it is a bit wonky. We do it by creating new projects dedicated to the product being sold to the customer. It would be useful if this was a standalone feature with screens and reports specific to reselling. This is a feature that we measurably improve our workflow.

**What problems is Ruddr Professional Services Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a small cybersecurity and compliance consulting agency that started in 2022 completely bootstrapped. We needed a tool from day 1 that supported solid customer, project, time tracking, invoicing, and Quickbooks integrations. Ruddr fit the requirements perfectly. Their billing model makes so much sense for a small consulting organization, but I expect us to keep using it even as we grow larger.

In addition to the QBO integration we have an accounting integration with Xero and will be adding Netsuite and Sage Intacct as well. Plenty of other integrations will be added in the future as well. Regarding product reselling, currently we do have the ability to invoice those via our "Other Items to Bill" ledger on the Accounting tab of the Edit Project drawer. We will look to expand that functionality over time though!
