**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

I use Oak Engage at Burger King UK as our central hub for information and communications, housing all of our operational documents and policies, and enabling employee communications and social interaction. I appreciate how it helps with connecting to our frontline workers who are not sitting at computers and how it translates content for our employees speaking different languages. I find it improves our business processes and drives efficiency, providing easy access to the right information and support. I think the platform works really well on both desktop and mobile, and it is easy to build and manage, allowing freedom over the look and feel of our intranet to really bring our brand to life. I like the useful features within the platform for managing documents and policies, and it provides a good social space. I'm pleased with how Oak allows setting review or expiration dates on documents and policies, making content management easier. The business process function is helpful for collecting accurate data from employees and putting it into spreadsheets. The Oak team is great to work with, offering support during setup with training and handling technical tasks, which made the initial setup mostly straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

There are a few things that could be improved such as automated and customized emails to employees on their birthdays and work anniversaries, onboarding email workflows, and being able to target groups of users built on some custom rules such as job title or location (and a mix of these together).

**What problems is Oak Engage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Oak Engage connects our frontline workers, translates content for diverse staff, improves processes, boosts efficiency, and enhances access to information and support.

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

Intuitive platform to operate and navigate. The ability to have so much control over the backend structure and setting access permissions to ensure key audiences get the right content served is great. Super-helpful people at Oak are always ready to help you get the most out of the system.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

Data could be used a bit more for deeper insight and to power work processes. A bit more functionality to expand the possibilities with processes would be very welcome. E.g. moving data into usable lists that automatically feed through to generating user groups based on responses would be a great way to automate audience composition.

**What problems is Oak Engage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better access to the information needed to understand the company, do the job and to connect with colleagues in meaningful and productive ways. Particularly those out-of-office audiences who may have felt left out in the past. There's a greater sense of inclusion and a more equitable knowledge sharing.

Site admins cannot log in as a user to replicate issues and save time when users contact inhouse team with issues.
Product development can take longer in terms of launching than originally specified.

Connecting our factory floor workers via the app. Never been able to do that before
Automated data upload for one of the largest areas of our business
On intranet for the whole group where we can communicate with everyone quickly and easily (a first for us)
Future - integrations with other systems so intranet will become one pint of access for everyone

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

Oak Engage is a fantastic software which is constantly being improved. The team are absolutely fantastic as well. Their support is definitely one of their best points. Any help or support required, someone is always swift and willing to assist in anyway possible.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

Sometimes it is not entirely intuitive to find out how to do something. Although their courses and team are super helpful at navigating any difficulties.

**What problems is Oak Engage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Oak is solving the challenge of delivering effective comms to colleagues. Not only does it allow us to to do this in an engaging way, but by allowing access via any device ensures that even those without desktop access can keep updates with any relevant business news.

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

For me, the document management system is very useful. We’re also starting to use the news article functions much more often, and they’ve been helpful.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

I would like more customization for color and backgrounds. I know a lot of it is related to the brand colors but there are some areas that would be nice to have more control on what colors are used.

**What problems is Oak Engage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us, the main issue is providing employees with a clear, reliable way to access the information they need to complete their job, as well as information related to their position, in a way that supports overall function.

The platform is very user friendly and the support is very useful especially from Mark!

Some features aka Bulk delete can be refined, but other than that all good!

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

The combination of ease of use, and high quality end product really set Oak Engage apart from other platforms. In the past we'd explored other platforms/options but none quite met our needs, and then when we came across Oak. Straight away from the friendliness of the Oak Engage team, through to the functionality and ease of use, we knew straight away this was the platform we wanted to use to build our new company intranet. The team we deal with at Oak are also excellent - they are very helpful and responsive and are always happy to help.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

The mobile app is not very good - the way the information displays and works feels more link a non-mobile optimised webpage - it doesn't feel at all user friendly or app like. Also in the past the analytics used to be instant on news posts and following an update a while back, the data doesn't pull through until the middle of the early hours of the day after something is posted. More real time analytics would be better.

**What problems is Oak Engage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before we had Oak we only used very old fashioned traditional communications channels - posters and email. By implementing Oak it's made managing content much easier, faster and targeted. With a very widely spread workforce, we can now tailor content to local sites, publish more interactive contact that we could previously, and get data on engagement rates and performance - we would now not be without it! We've also used the function where we have made suggestions on development ideas, some of which have been taken on board and rolled out - this is great as it shows that the Oak Engage team really do listen to what their customers need and want, and will go out of their way to help deliver the best solutions collaboratively.

I really like Oak Engage for a few reasons. The staff is really helpful, and the support is always there when I need it. I also find the news applet to be really useful. Additionally, I've heard from colleagues that the initial setup was very easy, which is great for getting started without hassle.

It's not very easy for people who don't work on it every day to learn.

I think the only thing I would like to see added is revier ability before publishing. It is so easy to undo everything with one simple mistake push, it would be nice to have some protection from that

It’s easy to manage and create content, and you don’t need any software development experience to use it. The support has also been great.

Difficult to get out of old messy set ups and ols content clean up is very time consuming

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

The thing I like best about Oak is being able to really quickly build our own pages and new areas to suit the needs of a fast-paced business. I think the interface is engaging and I really like the flexibility of layouts for news articles and page layouts. Our customer support rep, Shannon, is lovely and very helpful. It's pretty easy to train people on new aspects of Oak and implement changes. The analytics are useful.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

Some processes are a little clunky/convoluted e.g creating a news article - having to customise the image to display correctly in the preview. It would also be nice to turn off certain features that we don't use. There are some features or tweaks I have suggested in the past but we are quite a small company in Oak's world, so I haven't really seen anything come to fruition e.g. being able to duplicate a module rather than recreate it each time.

**What problems is Oak Engage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping people connected as a team during a period of rapid growth for the business, supporting culture, providing signposting and ways into our rapidly expanding library of documents, forms, templates, etc, which are housed on SharePoint.

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

I really like Oak Engage for its two way communication feature that lets people share their own stories. Storytelling feels like a powerful way to drive a business forward, helping team members see themselves within the business. Oak Engage allows us to talk with our people rather than at them, which is really important. I appreciate how creative and user-friendly the platform is, feeling more like a modern, fresh social media platform rather than an old, stodgy system. People resonate with it because it's relatable and doesn't feel like just another work app. I also like the support we've received in implementing it; the support team seems prepared with solutions, almost as if they've thought of everything. Even if there's something the platform can't do right away, there's usually a creative workaround or solution. Overall, Oak Engage has been a great platform, solving a lot of our problems and helping us do everything we need in the best way, without it feeling like just another platform we've added.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

I don't think there is anything in particular. I think I'm really enjoying using the platform. I think, probably, the only things that maybe I've flagged is being able to send an email out to the business and schedule that. So I can schedule a post, but then if I want an email kind of to be attached to that post, I would have to do it as a notice. I can't kind of type in my own message, but I don't think I've explored that in great detail. So there may be a way to do it. I don't know. But I think that's the only thing that I've flagged. And then also, when I send that email out from the business, whether it's a template or it's for a notice, not everyone gets it at the same time, which is a bit of a struggle.

Oak Engage bridges the gap between head office and retail teams, providing a unified communication platform. It enables story sharing, two-way engagement, and acts as a single source of truth, bringing everyone together and allowing for creative, collaborative communication.

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

I like the developments that have been made in recent years to Oak Engage, especially how the layout has started to look a lot cleaner and modern. It's been beneficial as I can link to pages on our intranet and send visually appealing content to staff when I don't have great formatting for internal emails. The training for the system was easy, which was great since my initial introduction to Oak Engage was with an already set up system.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

I think that the mobile app and formatting need to be improved. I believe that the steps required to make sure that your web pages look good on mobile devices are too lengthy; it needs to be more automated.

**What problems is Oak Engage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Oak Engage to host files, news, video, and forms in one place, making it accessible for staff from work devices. Its clean, modern layout aids in creating visually appealing content by linking intranet pages when I send internal emails.

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

I like Oak Engage because it is easy to use from an admin point of view and I find adding articles quick and easy. I appreciate that it allows us to have all information in one place and the custom content creator makes it easy for the business to see all information. I enjoy that Oak Engage is interactive.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

Processes seem to be lacking, particularly if a submitter is on annual leave and there is no option to choose another user.

Oak Engage keeps all our news, policies, procedures, and user information in one place, which is easy to use from an admin perspective. Adding articles is quick, interactive, and the custom content creator makes business information easily accessible.

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

I find Oak Engage visually modern and adaptable. It enables us as a business to communicate quickly and consistently with the whole team, ensuring everyone receives the same message. We use it for process management, policy management, as well as handling expenses and holidays. The initial setup was quite easy, and we even went for training in Newcastle.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

The process flow in Oak Engage is limited and doesn't reverse well. When you create a process and it's declined, it doesn't flow backwards well. This is the same issue for the expenses.

Oak Engage enables us to communicate quickly and consistently across the business, manage processes, policies, expenses, and holidays effectively.

I enjoy its versatility.  It  provides uers  with many designs for interfaces. User  experience is also  very  good.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

Creating  different user teams or groups can  be difficult. The same with  asigning  content for these specific teams or groups.

**What problems is Oak Engage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving employee communications.  It  provides  a go to hub for all things related to the business that can be  easily accessed by  staff.

How easy it is to use and their fantastic support team who are extremely knowledgeable about their product.

Some of the page design tools can be quite limited. Page permissions can also be quite arduous.

Enabling us to track engagement with our communications
Enabling us to interact with newly acquired businesses by creating welcome hubs
Ensuring our employees can access links to important areas such as HR hubs and mandatory training.

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

I love Oak Engage. The platform is robust but easy to work with. The support staff is always helpful.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

Because we're in the US and Oak is in the UK we have to be aware of the time difference. That's literally the only issue, and it's not an issue at all. Also, they have yet to fly me out for a visit in London. I am upset about that, but they could rectify it at any time by sending a ticket. They know how to find me!

**What problems is Oak Engage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Oak replaced out old Sharepoint intranet site, and is a much better way to handle internal comms, document sharing, team engagement, etc. It's also help up cut down on internal mass emails.

I really enjoy having an account manager. Our account manager, Mark Cockroft, has been incredibly helpful in addressing all of our questions and guiding us through the system. They consistently take the time to explain things clearly and make sure we fully understand how to use the platform to its fullest. It’s been a great experience having someone so responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Their support has made a real difference in how confident we feel using the system.

Oak is very intuitive and user friendly, and the Oak team has been such a great partner - they are always on hand to make sure we are getting the most of out the platform and continously imrpove how we communicate.

It would perhaps be great to to have (or learn more about) some integration options with our existing tools (like Viva Engage) - but I know the Oak team is always listening and improving the platform.

**What do you like best about Oak Engage?**

As a professional who has previous experience with SharePoint intranets and social media marketing platforms, I find Oak easy to use. Its functionality is good and I like the training and updates to the system. I have found the customer success managers to be helpful, they have responded quickly and James Flatman in particular was excellent in his support in helping me deliver a project. Mark Cockroft is our new manager and he has been equally good.

It would be great if pages could have more design options like the homepages with the three grid layouts.

Currently, the system has been set up incorrectly, and we have too many homepages. The system has been used as a document management housing site, and we need to improve the search engine functionality.

What I find most helpful is the Oak Engage team are always on hand to help with any questions or queries you may have. 
There are also useful guides to help you through any areas and functions when creating something new.

I think in an ideal world it would be great to have a few more options for page layouts and functions. Also some pages are viewed differently on the mobile app, this can sometimes be a little frustrating.

We are currently looking into the branded app version as we want our users to be able to sign up with ease and just enter their user name and password. Having to use a QR code can be a problem in our business., this is due to not colleagues having access to another device in order to scan their code. The branded app is giving us the option the be able to customise the sign-in process to our user's needs.

I have only been working with Oak for a short time (I took over ownership when a colleague left), but I have been very impressed with how responsive and helpful support and our Account Management team have been.   We are still new and learning how the site is intended to work and how our company's site was designed. They are very patient and helpful, offering suggestions and tips, directing us to recorded training videos, etc.

I think any pain points we have uncovered so far are related to how our site was structured years ago, not issues with Oak.   Oak is helping to guide/advise us on the cleanup of some of those issues to improve our site.

**Recommendations to others considering Oak Engage:**

I know we are not utilizing Oak to its full functionality - but even just a "bare-bone" site is easy to maintain and a valuable way to communicate information to your group.   Oak makes it easy to understand all the features and settings, and they are there to help you with any issues.

Our company intranet is our main form of communication, and Oak helps us maintain that.

Oak is easy to use and continuously upgraded. It suits our workforce and all technicial abilities. I LOVE the customer support  - they are all so lovely and helpful! Bending over backwards so you get the experience you want and need.

**What do you dislike about Oak Engage?**

There isn't much! A lot of the niggles I have can be fixed at our business end with extra training and knowledge not with Oak. I would maybe like an easier way to produce a summary of stories, like a mailchimp, at the end of the week.

**Recommendations to others considering Oak Engage:**

If you want a simple solution that can be used by, and empowers, your whole workforce then Oak is the perfect solution. Customer support is excellent and they really give you everything to set up your intranet and implement it among your colleagues.

Our communications department can now react like a newsroom which is perfect, as we were working on email before. We can get news to our people quickly and can update it regularly - a godsend during the pandemic.

The best part is how easy oak is to use. You would be able to create attractive content with very little training.

There are very few negatives about oak, and the help platform and idea sharing is brilliant. You feel listened to and supported when something doesn't go quite how you expect. The way we use oak isn't for how it is intended in some cases ie. to send emails containing communication. It would be good if the user could read them without having to open the oak app.

It is great that our Managers have a central place to go to get all of the information they need. Our previous intranet was difficult to navigate.

The account team aren't always sure of how to do things, but will find out and get back to you asap.
