The diversity in options for items, pages, forms, and fundraising experiences provides a relevant, cutting-edge, and easy-to-use means of widening how we provide donor's the ability to give online. PayPal and DAFPay are great additions to accessible donation methods for donors via GiveCloud. **What do you dislike about Givecloud?** GiveCloud has come a long way with its reporting capabilities, while there may still be some limitations with reports that can be pulled directly from its platform. It has great integration and mapping with DonorPerfect, but there are occasional custom fields and SmartActions in DP which do not respond to certain data points or triggers from GiveCloud. But I will pin this one on DonorPerfect instead of GiveCloud. Lastly, how items and donations are mapped to funds (GL Codes) in GiveCloud makes changing funds for recurring donations difficult (ie, a recurring donor wants to change their fund they donate to). Even if you change the code in DP, it cannot be changed in GiveCloud without creating a new recurring gift, and perhaps that is the better practice anyway. **What problems is Givecloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** It provides enhanced online giving forms and experiences creating more modern, competitive, and delightful experiences for donors with more integrated ways to give. In addition to the "online store" I was also able to set up a website, emails and e-cards for donors who were giving in someone's honor. The support team is very fast to respond and the chatbot actually provides really helpful answers. I have gotten pretty familiar with Givecloud and now use it almost daily as I run a nonprofit holiday gift catalog campaign. **What do you dislike about Givecloud?** We did experience some difficulties with setting up an integration between Givecloud and Zapier and our CRM, Virtuous, and the Givecloud team did their best to try to resolve. We didn't end up using the Zapier integration and are manually importing gifts to the CRM, which is an "okay" solution for the scale we are at right now. I have to do a lot of manual work to get our staff page--only 4 people--looking nice. **What problems is Givecloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** They usually solve my problems when they come up, but it goes back to lack of good templates. ### 7. I like the automatic replies as this usually does have great answers. However, I like the fact that I can decide to wait for the team so I work with a real person directly. This is a great option - especially if I feel I need to describe what I am looking for directly to a person so I am not typing the next part of my question and waiting for a potential answer. Every time I have worked directly with a support team member, they have gone above and beyond in finding a solution to my problem or an answer to my question. At times, they have had to talk with other team members to find a resolution for me. This is great! I love the fact that the team member doesn't just leave things unanswered. If they have to create something to help me, they will. I also like the fact that Givecloud is easy to populate a website with. The changes I make are instantaneous and do not have to be routed through a third person to take effect. Givecloud is definitely easy to learn and very user-friendly. **What do you dislike about Givecloud?** 1. Cannot search a supporter by their Donor ID. 2. It's possibly a good thing, but I would like the ability to do an import myself instead of having to send it in and have the GC staff do the import then wait for the results. 3. Changes made in a student's or supporter's record does not change it in Donor Perfect - or vice versa. For instance, when I make changes to a name or a class level for a student, I have to manually make these same changes in Donor Perfect. It doubles the work. **What problems is Givecloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Givecloud populates our Child Sponsorship website. I LOVE the portal! This is wonderful for our supporters as they can make certain changes themselves and update their own information (i.e. new credit card, address changes, etc.). We built in features where a supporter can send communication to their sponsored child. It gives supporters information and a picture of their child at a glance so they don't have to go through us for basic information. ### 8. GiveCloud is a Godsend for nonprofits who need modern solutions for fundraising and ecommerce **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Ben C. | Donor Services Manager, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2025 **What do you like best about Givecloud?** GiveCloud is robust in what it can offer for fundraising and ecommerce tools, but what our organization has benefited most from GC in the past 18 months of implementing it is: a directly integrated service with our current CRM and processing gateway which can also integrate with other gateways and payment methods not previously available with our other vendor; Donors Cover Costs donations essentially more than covering the costs of its monthly platform fees; a donor portal which allows donors to manage and update their own donor payment information in a secure, PCI compliant way; and sleek, modern fundraising forms and items which allow our organization to feel up-to-date and relevant in the methods and media we can provide donors in their giving experiences (the design, feel, function, and payment methods are all perks compared to what we previously had available for online giving). I would be remiss to exclude the people at GiveCloud as one of the contributing factors to our experience. Both sales and support have been instrumental in our research, experimentation, implementation, and optimization of the platform and its uses along the way. Being able to play with a system for months before purchasing it was a game-changer, and having support staff that understand GiveCloud and its relationship to our current donor CRM, DonorPerfect, makes all the difference in how confident we are in the solutions they can provide. Even if we ever have to migrate to a new CRM, I hope (and plan) for GiveCloud to make the move too as its chances of integrating seem excellent. Its that special. **What do you dislike about Givecloud?** Like anything with many bells and whistles, GiveCloud is constantly growing and updating its look and features. While this is a good sign of growth and adaptation for the platform, it can make understanding and training other staff in its use and function difficult. Where GiveCloud excels in pre-built options, connections, templates, and logistics with connected systems, it is still trying to catch up in customizability, whether that is full-customizability of fields, images, labels, and content on pages and forms or in how custom reports can be pulled directly fom GiveCloud. Don't get me wrong, GC has plenty of custom options available across the board, but you are still limited at the end of the day with certain user-facing aspects like what fields can be linked where, being able to fully control the design and look of items and forms and their content (html, etc.), and being able to export custom and/or comprehensive reports from different areas in the platform for the sake of comparing to your trusted CRM source of truth without getting an time-out error or not getting everything you thoguht you were asking for by filter. GiveCloud has made many strides and has delivered on certain feature updates promised from even before we signed on, but like any platform, it is evident that they are still timely working to improve where they can. **What problems is Givecloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** PCI compliant means for donors managing their payment and billing information via the donor portal feature. ### 9. All the forms and storefronts look so modern and professional. Ours looked out of date and we're difficult to navigate. With our Givecloud setup, we finally have a customer interface that's simple, attractive, and so easy to use that we are seeing an increase in donations over just a short time. **What do you dislike about Givecloud?** The backend can be counterintuitive and we've had a few small issues with getting the lists for events right. Like when one person signs themself and a friend up in one purchase, it's tough to parse that information with a report. Other than small glitches, we are very pleased. **What problems is Givecloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** In the past, our donors could not easily give online. GC solves that. Our firms were confusing and cumbersome to create, and the reporting was weak. Again, GC has solved that. We are seeing more people donate online than in the past. In addition, our organization used it for years before I came on. What I like best about GiveCloud is the customer service. New AI enhancements to live chat generally give me the answer I'm looking for in seconds. When the answer isn't satisfactory, I'm usually able to speak to a live person via chat within minutes. I find the interfaces simple and easy to work with and implementation is generally straightforward. Our development team has appreciated the level of integration with DonorPerfect. **What do you dislike about Givecloud?** While GiveCloud has a great suite of features, there are occasionally things I wish we could do that are not available within the platform. Though they consistently take these suggestions to heart and release improvements, I wish the general depth of functionality was still greater. It can enhance our online forms. It has made our online form look much more professional and user-friendly. The ease of the product and the implementation of the system are impressive. Customer support has been outstanding, from Sales to Onboarding staff. Everyone is fantastic to work with and takes their time to help understand the process. **What do you dislike about Givecloud?** The only downside is our time getting everything moved over. With a small nonprofit with a few staff. We have used their services for years. They host our website, provide all e-commerce for our website and we use their point of sale feature in our gallery. They are designed not for a "transacational" process but a "relationship" process which is vital in our sector. We must know our customer and how they support our mission in the unique ways non-profits operate. Automation allows for quick receipts to donors that a receipt and a heartfelt thank you. Has membership options if that is part of your mission. We sell art and classes as well as take donations. We love the product and reccomend it the sector partners. **What do you dislike about Givecloud?** As a smaller company that has been growing we would love for them to add greater options to POS side of their business including use of card readers. Currently staff manually types in card data. We would also love if they can add thermal printers for receipts to make our transaction process quicker and more environmentally friendly. We have also asked them to update and bring back with donation kiosk program. I do find that they are willing to listen to suggestions about these upgrades but struggle to implement them. **What problems is Givecloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** The integrations with Donor Perfect so that every transaction we do maps to our CRM allowing us to understand how our guests contribute to our missing and help us increase donations and membership. ### 19. I do not find this process very user friendly at all. As someone with absolutely no web developing experience, the website set up is not easy to learn. After almost 4 years working with this program, I am just now starting to feel comfortable with some things, and others I completely avoid. For example, when I have to make a new page for an event or some other reason for my organization, I strictly do this using the "Feeds and Blogs" section. The Pages and Menu section is beyond my scope of knowledge and I cannot figure it out. I also wish the Chat help feature was more live. I know the help team usually responds pretty quickly, but often I find I have to write the question, leave the task I was working on, move on to something else, get the reply a few hours (or the next day) later, and then return to what I was working on.
