"GC has been great for business"

What do you like best?

What I have found is that it has helped manage payments for pay monthly clients. We have cut down the time of chasing payments and love that it notifies us when someone has cancelled their direct debit. It has created a more seamless process which has cut admin time down. What do you dislike?

This is a great way to be in control of monthly or project based payments. If you don't want to be chasing people/ companies and they are happy to have a direct debt set up, I would highly recommend investing. It has saved us time and money and been so easy to use. We have solved payment issues and created a sleeker process when working with businesses and brands who don't have 7, 14, 21 or 30 day invoice terms. "Easy payment processing for recurring or one off payments."

What do you like best?

GoCardless is really flexible and easy to use. We can send a customer an email link which after they have filled in a simple form (branded to us) its about 3 minutes to set up recurring payment plans or one off charges.

It's easy to change details, the support team have always sorted out any problems quickly.

What do you dislike?

Fees went up this year making it a bit expensive for tiny recurring payments (per transaction fee), so this adds a little to what you need to factor in to any small transactions.

"GoCardless+Xero reduced friction and costs in our business, and made our clients happier too!"

What do you like best?

We love that GoCardless seamlessly collects payment on the due dates for all Xero invoices in AUD, USD, EUR and GBP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The GoCardless integration with Xero is "almost" seamless. As we learned that the GoCardless cannot create a matching entry in Xero for the daily bank deposits, so we have to manually reconcile those each month and trust that they are right. That is still significantly better than what we had to do manually before.

Also if a client needs to change their address or bank details, we manually must edit or delete their existing mandate and send them a link to create a new one. That process could be better automated for self-service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We no longer have to manually manage process subscriptions that were previously on Stripe. The fees on international payments are reduced and as GC can deposit funds into our relevant currency in TransferWise, it means we do not get hit with unwanted currency conversion as we did with Stripe. Finally, especially in the USA where clients are used to paying with cards but not ACH, this makes it seamless and painless for them and they do not have to pay any bank ACH fees. "Keeps control of regular payments"

What do you like best?

As most of my business income is through monthly packages, using GoCardless helps me to stay in control of those regular payments, without relying on customers paying manually each month or needing to set up a standing order. It’s very easy to forward a link to get payment plans set up. With COVID-19 affecting a number of businesses, it was great to see GoCardless react quickly by creating an easy to use options to pause customer plans for a set number of months. "Cost-effective payment solution"

What do you like best?

Easy for clients to sign up, their fees are minimal, and there is a web portal which interfaces nicely with Xero Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

"GoCardless was easy to set up and helped put my business into motion in no time!"

What do you like best?

I like the ability of having multiple subscriptions for different online services I sell, and being able to customise the recurrence settings as well as the payment dates.

Another cool feature I really like is being able to monitor pending transactions, my current list of costumers, as well as a history of payouts and refunds.

Also, a useful feature I like is that the payouts can go directly into my bank account instead of staying in GoCardless and having to withdraw the money manually as was with PayPal, the previous payment system I used for my business needs, before moving to GoCardless. What do you dislike?

I wish the dashboard/admin area UI would be a bit tidier and more intuitive overall. I need to go through all the settings and options before finding what I need, sometimes.

I don't like that the current payout pending time is 2 days and I have to wait that long until the actual payment hits my bank account.

I also dislike not being able to edit or update plans/subscriptions prices. The only options seems to be to transfer the customer to a different (new) plan, which is quite annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Recommending GoCardless for Xero customers"

What do you like best?

I choose GoCardless for payments because of its integration with the Xero accounting software. Switching payment providers was painless. "Very easy product to use"

What do you like best?

Simplicity of setting up a DD for a customer to pay a regular or one off invoice. The process is very easy and in less than a minute you can have sent the request for your customer to set up the DD. All they need to enter is their name, company name and bank details and that is it. Once the DD is set up you get an email confirming this and you can then request the payment. Once payment is made you receive a summary of who has paid you in an email. The system is very flexible and can be used for one off invoices, regular invoices or subscription payments. "Really easy to setup and use, works well with WaveApps"

What do you like best?

The best thing about the GoCardless platform is that all the hard work is done for you.All the links after setting up the payment plans are handled by them with the customer banks.

"Great system, saves time and money"

What do you like best?

As I started a new venture away from farming into storage i wanted a system that saves me time and easily accessible on the move, the system works for me in such a way that I do not have to make my way to the office if I notice a problem, I can deal with it easily on my mobile. The system is extremely user friendly and links beautifully with the accounting software Xero. This linking of online systems saves time and money, and the reconciliation is done at the click of a button. With a glance I can see who is set up and if any changes occur I am informed instantly. I highly recommend GoCardless as the online payment system for small business like my own. My customers also like that they are not handing over there account details and the system can be set up from a button on the invoice. All in all I highly recommend GoCardless. "Simple Seamless"

What do you like best?

Gocardless Seamlessly Integrates With Xero , this connection literally nullifies my debt chasing from invoice to payment my sales process is totally unmanned, I can also collect payments at will. Their Customer Support is also very responsive, this company is continuing to innovate the payment collection space, We only use Gocardless as a payment provider for the above reasons and the price, as Gocardless do not charge a subscription fee only a low capped percentage of transaction value. The best part of the integration with Xero is that all payments auto allocate to the respected invoice with all funds showing from the date of collection in a Direct Debit Account. What do you dislike?

The Least helpful is the payment time it sometimes takes 4-5 days for the money to hit our account after the payment has cleared, this is an issue with all Direct Debit providers not just Gocardless. There is no bank feed for the Gocardless account within our Xero account thus meaning that all payments have to be manually imported for reconciliation if these issues were addressed Gocardless would be a perfect system. "GoCardless + Xero integration = Blissful billing & Bookkeeping"

What do you like best?

The best thing about GoCardless is that the fees are so much lower than my other merchant accounts. If you use Xero, the integration with GoCardless saves so much time and is highly recommended if you do recurring billing. When we get a new retainer client, I create a recurring invoice in Xero. I then email my client with a secure link so they can give me ACH authorization. After that, every time I create an invoice for the client in Xero, GoCardless takes the payment automatically on the invoice due date. (The Xero recurring invoices get sent automatically, too.) What do you like best?

Get your money next day. Easy to manage DD runs. Fast onboarding for customer = better collection. Easy to use. Good Reporting and ability to manage. Good value service in comparison to other competitors. We like the Ease of onboarding to customers that has a direct impact on the tack p and effectiveness of our collection service. "Automating your business for real"

What do you like best?

One of the challenges of business is making things scalable. If taking twice as many customers takes twice as much work then there is an upper bound on your profit.

If you can automate processes, e.g. through the use of direct debiting, you can take on extra customers with minimal extra work. By adopting GoCardless I have been able to significantly increase my customer base without a significant increase in work and without those awkward credit control calls. Happy customers and happy me! There are very few, if any down sides. The fees are reasonable (compared to other money obtaining platforms), it integrates with my accounting package to automatically charge the client the correct amount based on my invoices. Help! I just love it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, convenient and value for money"

I love the fact that we raise invoices in Xero and GoCardless instantly picks them up, matches them to a mandate and triggers the payment. The payments even get reconciled for me! So easy.

"Excellent Way To Collect Payments"

What do you like best?

GoCardless is very simple to use for a business and for a consumer and there are multiple ways to get a client set up.

I would say when considering GoCardless you need to decide if you adopt it as a policy for all or its an optional thing for customers, id say its better and less administration to adopt it as a policy for all. So easy, just key in customers email address, a space for free text from us, just so the end customer knows the email they receive isn't random, then when set up how much you want to take each month and everything else is done for you. What do you dislike?

The free version doesn't give my customers my id, when we get big enough to pay for the upgrade then we will, which allows us to be visible to our customers on statements Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing little known provider"

What do you like best?

The simplicity of the product is fantastic. It's not overly complicated, it does just what you need. The customer service is amazing and they always get back to you so fast. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I also love supporting smaller businesses rather than just going for the obvious Paypal option (which charge a shed load more for really bad un-personal service) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The fact that you can't make single payments. (I know you can, but the terminology and fact you have to set up a 'direct debit' is a bit of a faff for people wanting to make a simple card payment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best way to get paid for recurring payments"

What do you like best?

"It Just Works!"

What do you like best?

Payments are always on time and my clients prefer payments to be made from their bank account on a regular basis. They also integrate nicely into other services such as Zoho for automated payment notifications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Changed the way we work"

What do you like best?

Before GoCardless we were chasing customers payments and now all of our payments are made on time every time. We dont even have to check if a customer has paid as the system informs us of each collection and each failed collection (Which is a very rare occurrence) The integration with our accounting software is a real time saver too as it automatically marks invoices as paid and reconciles the bank transactions for us. What do you dislike?

The dashboard could be a little more informative. When it shows the payments collected and payments due to be collected, it would be helpful if there was a breakdown of the contacts beneath each category. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are no longer calling and emailing customers to follow up on late payments. All payments are made on time and as a result we are not having difficult calls with our clients.
