The GoCardless integration with Xero is "almost" seamless. As we learned that the GoCardless cannot create a matching entry in Xero for the daily bank deposits, so we have to manually reconcile those each month and trust that they are right. That is still significantly better than what we had to do manually before.

I like the ability of having multiple subscriptions for different online services I sell, and being able to customise the recurrence settings as well as the payment dates.
Another cool feature I really like is being able to monitor pending transactions, my current list of costumers, as well as a history of payouts and refunds.

I don't like that the current payout pending time is 2 days and I have to wait that long until the actual payment hits my bank account.

Simplicity of setting up a DD for a customer to pay a regular or one off invoice. The process is very easy and in less than a minute you can have sent the request for your customer to set up the DD. All they need to enter is their name, company name and bank details and that is it. Once the DD is set up you get an email confirming this and you can then request the payment. Once payment is made you receive a summary of who has paid you in an email. The system is very flexible and can be used for one off invoices, regular invoices or subscription payments. As I started a new venture away from farming into storage i wanted a system that saves me time and easily accessible on the move, the system works for me in such a way that I do not have to make my way to the office if I notice a problem, I can deal with it easily on my mobile. The system is extremely user friendly and links beautifully with the accounting software Xero. This linking of online systems saves time and money, and the reconciliation is done at the click of a button. With a glance I can see who is set up and if any changes occur I am informed instantly. Gocardless Seamlessly Integrates With Xero , this connection literally nullifies my debt chasing from invoice to payment my sales process is totally unmanned, I can also collect payments at will. Their Customer Support is also very responsive, this company is continuing to innovate the payment collection space, We only use Gocardless as a payment provider for the above reasons and the price, as Gocardless do not charge a subscription fee only a low capped percentage of transaction value. The Least helpful is the payment time it sometimes takes 4-5 days for the money to hit our account after the payment has cleared, this is an issue with all Direct Debit providers not just Gocardless. There is no bank feed for the Gocardless account within our Xero account thus meaning that all payments have to be manually imported for reconciliation if these issues were addressed Gocardless would be a perfect system. The best thing about GoCardless is that the fees are so much lower than my other merchant accounts. If you use Xero, the integration with GoCardless saves so much time and is highly recommended if you do recurring billing. When we get a new retainer client, I create a recurring invoice in Xero. I then email my client with a secure link so they can give me ACH authorization. After that, every time I create an invoice for the client in Xero, GoCardless takes the payment automatically on the invoice due date. (The Xero recurring invoices get sent automatically, too.) One of the challenges of business is making things scalable. If taking twice as many customers takes twice as much work then there is an upper bound on your profit.
If you can automate processes, e.g. through the use of direct debiting, you can take on extra customers with minimal extra work. Before GoCardless we were chasing customers payments and now all of our payments are made on time every time. We dont even have to check if a customer has paid as the system informs us of each collection and each failed collection (Which is a very rare occurrence) The integration with our accounting software is a real time saver too as it automatically marks invoices as paid and reconciles the bank transactions for us.
