Client onboarding software helps companies manage post-sales activities related to the delivery of the services sold by the company. This type of software can be used to manage software implementations and onboard clients in industries such as financial services, healthcare, or education. Client onboarding software is used by project managers in charge of implementation, customers, and other parties involved, like consultants.

There are two major types of client onboarding software—best of breed (which focuses exclusively on client onboarding) and all-in-one solutions that provide features for client onboarding combined with other functionality for other business needs such as customer success management.

This type of software should not be confused with project management software, which is too generic for onboarding, or digital adoption platforms, that focus on user onboarding. Client onboarding software integrates with CRM software, sales software, and IT management software.

To qualify for inclusion in the Client Onboarding category, a product must:

Manage tasks and projects related to client onboarding and implementation
Allow internal and external stakeholders to collaborate and communicate
