The curriculum is well-structured, with prerequisite courses clearly identified to support progressive learning. Instructional materials—including videos, readings, exercises, and case studies—are thoughtfully designed and effectively delivered by knowledgeable instructors. The practice exam on the 3-statement modelling and valuation exercise, the alternatives provided to choose from and the required live scenario (Base, Best and Worst case) doesn't match and I have difficult time to choose the correct answer; I was forced to use my own guess. Similarly the final exam has same issues. Please, review the live scenario requested at the question and the respective alternatives provided on these question sections. I really had tough time. The institute is solving knowledge gap that occurs when building career path either for those who have accounting background or with different academic background but interested in knowing and understanding what financial statements are, how they are used, how investment is made, how a business is examined or valued as for the profitability or good investment. I really found it interesting and helpful to shift my career path with all the required skills I need to have at the transition time. Since my academic background is industrial engineering (major in system design and modelling), I am more confident now to further expand my knowledge and the skill set i need to build to become competitive operational consulting who blends the financial analyst insights. I enrolled in CFI’s FMVA program believing it was a one-time payment for lifetime access, as is common for many certification courses. At no point during the purchase process was it made clear that the payment was part of an annual subscription model. The only mention was a small line buried at checkout stating “each year,” which is easy to miss and does not match the upfront impression given on the program’s main pages. After my initial term ended, I lost access to all study materials unless I paid another full year’s subscription fee. When I contacted support, they confirmed there are no exceptions to their policy, even though the course marketing suggests learners can complete it “at their own pace.” While the learning content itself was solid, the lack of transparency and unwillingness to offer a reasonable resolution left me feeling misled. For anyone considering this program, be aware that the cost is recurring annually, not a one-time purchase, and you will lose access to your progress if you don’t renew.
