What do you like best?

Implementation and Integration in Google Apps was easy done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Spanning Backup has not seen any improvements or relevant new features in the last three years. If you want to search for a backup email or want to export data the user interface is a total disaster. You really need a lot of time if you use the search functionality because it is incredibly slow. The backup of the data itself works, but a complete export of the data is factually not possible. A single mailbox with 20GB of data took a week to export. Shady cancellation rules, hidden in their EULA with a 30day cancellation window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

It was extremely easy to setup - backups were running within 10 minutes. We have only done a restore to validate it works but that process is very simple too. It can be setup so all new users and SharePoint sites are automatically backed up without any administrator interaction. Users are able to initiate their own restores. The pricing was in line with other products we evaluated at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Nothing major. The common backup errors are for empty files which I wish it would learn to just skip instead of trying to backup and then erroring out, creating an email notification. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

How easy it was to integrate with 0365 admin portal. More comfortable with backups that are transparent. The navigation and setup of the application was as easy as a few clicks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

only dislike is there is not a way that i have found to do a overall bulk back up. Having to go to each user to run a manual backup is tedious Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Want a quick and easy back up for Emails, Contacts and Sharepoint this is the overall solution. What do you like best?

The simplicity of it - just set and forget, it does it for you in the background, and keeps you up to date regularly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Daily back-up messages - would rather weekly/ fortnightly option if possible. Unless there is an error or emergency, we don't need daily notifications for regular back-ups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Do it- its the easiest, most reliable way to backup your MS365 files and emails. Using spanning has been simple and hassle-free. Its given our company peace of mind to have our data remotely backed-up and available to be restored quickly and simply on demand. It also made it relatively easy, quick and simple to implement early as a new company, without the need for expensive hardware, or time consuming data back-up procedures. Microsoft doesn't seem to have a solid enough back-up function. Despite its good data retention policies, eg. able to restore previous versions of a file, it seems too easy to have files deleted, either accidentally or maliciously. What do you like best?

It backs up everything we need it to in one simple service. It also has a simple interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

That you cannot immediately export something. You have to wait for an email, and then go to the Activity section on their site, and even though you just ran it, you have to go the the "past" tab to find that export to download. It's a bit roundabout and you should just be able to download it in one click. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I like the face that Spanning works directly from within Salesforce. The interface is not its own login, but is authorized as a managed package. Even during a manually requested backup, there is no noticeable affect on the Salesforce org, and the final result completes very quickly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The initial backup took over a week, which I found frustrating. However, once it was complete, the ongoing backups were prompt and reliable. Also, when I had questions, the initial implementation specialists always had to defer to their help desk. Help desk was great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When looking at all of the Salesforce backup offerings, please write down your primary goals and requirements, and then provide them to each of the vendors you are considering. Our organization did not have a Salesforce backup solution, and the other vendor's prices were very expensive for the budget we were willing to consider. By choosing Spanning, not only did we get a reliable solution to always have daily snapshots and backup data to possibly restore, but we also were able to get it at a price point that made sense. What do you like best?

Seamlessly works at the back end backing up both files and email history. Restore function is easy and quick. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Terrible customer service especially since the move to Kaseya ownership. The billing system does not seem to work for a credit card and is amateur (or was in June 2020 when I cancelled the service). As a SAAS company with a product offering that is not expensive, it needs this to be seamless, but it is not. What is worst when it failed that blame the customer rather than resolving the issue properly. We got pushed to an off-shore customer service team who were unresponsive and poor at resolving the issue. When we got frustrated and cancelled the service, they refused to provide any refund and put us to a debt collection firm. Easily the worst customer experience I have ever received from a SAAS company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The biggest pro for us so far is the ease of use. Go to spanning.com, login with O365 login... and that's it. The UI is basically your inbox. Very easy to use, or to walk an end user through the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I recommend this to all my SMB customers. It's so easy to setup. There's really nothing to it. You could literally be setup in 15 minutes from the moment you go to the website. No hard drives or server or backup services needed on site. All cloud! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm an independent IT provider and need to help my clients backup their Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace tenants, but I can't be spending time auditing backups and checking in on things. Spanning is so easy to use. Sign up, pay, choose the accounts to backup, done. I love that there's no minimum for accounts I have to backup. Some services require a minimum of 5 licenses or more, but with Spanning I can backup two accounts if I want. Since my customers are usually less than five people, this is ideal. And it's really inexpensive. No hardware, and nothing on-premise needed. Perfect for an all-cloud IT setup like my customers usually have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how easy it is to set up to start backing up my O365 data for my organization. I have been using Spanning backup for more than three years. On more than a few occasions I was able to quickly restore missing or deleted emails with a few clicks. The web admin dashboard is quite easy to use. The ease of setup is a breeze. Searching for and restoring files is almost too easy. The search works better that built in Microsoft search in Outlook. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

What do you dislike?

We use Spanning through Kaseya so it can be cumbersome to get licenses assigned to our tenants. Once its configured the software functions great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
