## Small Improvements Reviews
  ### 1. User-Friendly Praise That Captures the “Why” and Fits Seamlessly in Slack

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenn R. | People & Culture Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Small Improvements is an incredibly user-friendly site that makes it easy to capture the “why” behind our success. I especially appreciate how the seamless Praise feature ensures that no great client moment goes unnoticed, and how it flows naturally into our daily workflow in Slack. I also value the AI features that have been rolled out—they help turn good feedback into great feedback, and then allow employees to translate that feedback into strong objectives and goals.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I don’t have many things I dislike about SI. Looking ahead, it would be helpful to add reporting capabilities for our managers, as well as for admins.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SI is a great one-stop shop for all of our performance management needs. Features like the Slack-to-SI integration and the AI tools make it easy for our employees to capture and document our team’s performance.

  ### 2. Helpful, Organized, Automatic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily N. | People Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I like how intuitive and user-friendly Small Improvements is, making it easy for staff to give and receive feedback without a complicated process. I appreciate the flexibility of the platform—it allows us to customize feedback and performance reviews to meet our team’s needs. I like that it fosters ongoing feedback and reflection rather than limiting feedback to just formal review cycles. Customer support has been incredible. Alec has been there with us every step of the way.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I dislike how the Pulse surveys are a bit difficult to navigate when concerning start and end time. I wish things were clearer on the dashboard of it will be sent out on this date and they have until this date to complete it without going back in and doing a lot of editing.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements is helping us create a consistent and structured way to give feedback, which ensures important conversations don’t get lost or delayed. This makes performance management more transparent and fair. It solves the challenge of keeping feedback ongoing throughout the year instead of only during annual reviews. That benefits us by making feedback more timely, actionable, and meaningful.

  ### 3. Streamlined Reviews with Fun, User-Friendly Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sue V. | Human Resources Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I like that Small Improvements is easy to use and user-friendly. It's fun with some fun icons and logos shared throughout the system. It's easy and fun to use. The simple layout of the site contributes a lot to its user-friendliness.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

It would be nice if Small Improvements could do a two on one, rather than just a one on one.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements simplifies the review process, making it visible and easy to praise people. It keeps track of reviews and one-on-ones, connects to my Outlook calendar, and helps look back at past discussions and action items.

  ### 4. Best Performance Management Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simran B. | Senior Associate - Talent Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

The platform is extremely flexible, offering a wide variety of question formats that can be tailored to fit your preferred review style.

Additionally, the customer support team is very responsive and accommodating, always ready to guide.

We used it for peer, 360 degree, upward feedback and bi-annual reviews also.
Easily integrates with HRMS

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

Nothing as such to dislike, everything is great

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It mainly focuses on providing formatting options and the flexibility to set up reviews at any time. The processes for rating and calibration are very straightforward and easy to use. On the admin side, the interface is also user-friendly, making it simple to remind employees when needed.

  ### 5. A True Partnership: Seamless, Supportive, and Always Improving.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier A. | Talent Management and Development Program Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

The support and partnership we receive from Lindsay Sanders and her team are unmatched.

Lindsay approaches every question with thoughtfulness, and her ability to solve problems and guide us through platform features has made a significant difference for our team. As we expand awareness and training around Small Improvements, Lindsay has played a key role in helping us promote the tool and unlock its full potential.

We are especially excited to partner on 9-box assessments—this is a game changer for our managers and makes development planning much more streamlined and actionable.

Her team matches her high level of service, stepping in seamlessly whenever needed.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

“Dislike” does not feel like the right word—there is nothing about the platform I truly dislike. If anything, I wish there were more customization options available. I would be willing to trade a bit of ease of use for more flexibility in tailoring workflows or forms. That said, Lindsay and her team genuinely welcome this kind of feedback and are always looking to improve the platform based on what customers need.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements solves the challenge of managing performance and development across disconnected systems. It gives us a centralized space where one-on-ones, reviews, and goal-setting all live together, making it easier for managers and team members to stay aligned. We especially value the ability to integrate one-on-ones with Google Calendar, which keeps conversations timely and consistent. This all-in-one structure supports a more seamless and thoughtful talent development process.

  ### 6. Great all-in-one performance management tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rhonda R. | Vice President, People Operations , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

We've been using Small Improvements for a while now, and it's become a central part of how we manage our performance and people processes. What I appreciate most is how easy it is to use, both for managers and employees. Whether it's giving praise, scheduling 1:1s, creating development plans, or running performance reviews, everything feels intuitive and well thought out. The Slack integration is a bonus that helps keep things in flow without needing to switch tools constantly.

I also like that it offers helpful guidance for HR teams and managers - whether it's templates, suggestions, or best practices, it’s clear they’ve built the platform with real teams in mind.

Overall, Small Improvements has helped us save time, stay organized, and keep our people processes in one place. Highly recommend it for small to mid-sized teams looking for a user-friendly solution.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

If I had to point out one downside, it’s that there’s no live chat support option. That said, the help articles are solid, and whenever I’ve submitted a ticket or emailed support, the response has been fast and helpful.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements gives us a centralized, easy-to-use system for managing 1:1s, performance conversations, and employee development. As the only HR person in our company, it’s been a game-changer. I’m able to oversee everything in one place without juggling multiple systems, spreadsheets, or chasing down updates. It brings structure and consistency to our people processes, while still being simple enough for managers and employees to actually use.

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> Thank you for your kind review and feedback, Rhonda. We're thrilled to be a part of your performance management processes!

  ### 7. Seriously...what are you waiting for?

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roya P. | Executive Coach + Culture Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

As a Culture Consultant who works with clients both large and small, I am OBSESSED with Small Improvements. This platform packs a giant punch at a totally reasonable price point. Most organizations make giant investments in HR software that claims to do everything...but the reality is that those programs are only useful when they are user friendly and embraced by staff.

Small Improvements makes managing performance reviews, OKRs, and pulse surveys EASY for team members and administrators alike. With customization, flexibility, and its commitment to keeping things simple and straightforward, I recommend it to many of my clients. 5 stars!

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I hope to see even deeper data insight capabilities available over time.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements offers performance reviews, 1:1 meeting agenda tracking, Praise features, OKR tracking, and pulse surveys. Having these features bundled provides a great engagement and performance management solution at a reasonable price point.

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> Thank you for this review, Roya! It's a pleasure to work with you.

Also, we appreciate that feedback on data insights. Our platform is always evolving, so I hope you'll continue to let us know about any ways that we can improve.

  ### 8. Small Improvements: Intuitive, User-Friendly, and Sets the Standard for Feedback

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Small Improvements sets the golden standard for feedback related processes.
UI is good, easy to understand for users.
Admin is easy, intuitive.
Feedabck cycle setup is easy, can see a lot of thought has been put into making it easy to use.
Good to see that they constantly reach into "what's next" in terms of value added.
Happy customer of 5+ years :)

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

As with all solutions, you have to understand that some highly customized requests might not be a part of default functionality, but their reps have been incredibly forthcoming and helpful on this during our cooperation.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feedback gathering for employee growth.

  ### 9. A User-Friendly Tool that Supports Modern Performance Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Think Tanks | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Small Improvements has a clean, intuitive interface that makes it easy for both managers and employees to engage with performance management activities. I really appreciate how it supports best practices—like continuous feedback, structured reviews, and goal setting—in a way that feels natural and non-disruptive. It’s a great tool for fostering meaningful conversations and development across teams.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

While the platform does a lot well, I’d like to see more flexibility in customizing certain features. For example, the behavior/performance grid isn’t the right fit for our organization, but there’s currently no option to remove or tailor it. A bit more customization would make it even better.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements helps streamline and modernize our performance management process. Before using it, we struggled with consistency and engagement. Now, with built-in tools for continuous feedback, goal tracking, and structured reviews, we’re seeing more meaningful conversations between managers and employees. It’s helped us create a culture of regular feedback and development, rather than just focusing on annual reviews. The platform makes it easier to align performance discussions with our organizational values and priorities.

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> I really appreciate your review and the feedback you provided! Our goal has always been to foster meaningful conversations and employee/team development.

Thank you for your feedback as well! Feel free to reach out through our support channel, and we'd be happy to help you remove/edit the behavior/performance grid, and if you haven't already, we would love to hear more about the types of customizations your team would find valuable.

  ### 10. Exceptionally Easy to Use with Outstanding Customer Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

This platform is very simple to use as an admin and end-user. The support I get from their customer success team is phenomenal, specifically Lindsay Sandars. She is always supportive and anytime we have issues she responds immediately with solutions.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

There are some limitations to the system for our growing organization, but when we share feedback with the customer success team they are open to listen and try to incorporate those changes in future enhancements.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Supporting our organization with Performance Management and 360 assessments.

  ### 11. Reliable, Easy to Use, and Exceptional Support — 10 Years In

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

We’ve been using Small Improvements for 10 years for team performance management, and it continues to be an outstanding solution. The platform is easy to use, highly reliable, and integrates well with our HR tools. Setting up review cycles is simple, and department heads can easily manage their own customized reviews.

What truly sets Small Improvements apart is the exceptional customer support — always thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely helpful. After a decade of use, we can confidently say it’s one of the most reliable and supportive services we’ve worked with.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

Small-improvements is a great service but it is nit a full HRIS. That said it is very effective when integrated with one.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team performance management

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> Thank you for this review, Ben. We're really lucky to have your team as a customer!

  ### 12. User-Friendly but Could Use More Admin-Friendly Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren T. | Human Resources Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Small Improvements provides an intuitive and user-friendly interface for managing performance reviews and continuous feedback. The ease of use and integration with other tools make it a great choice for organizations looking to streamline their review processes. The ability to customize review cycles and gather 360-degree feedback enhances transparency and growth within teams. Customer support was great, and Alec was amazing to work with!

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

From an admin perspective, setting up the platform was a bit challenging, as it was not immediately clear how to structure review cycles. It would be helpful if the system offered generic standard review cycles for year-end or quarterly performance reviews to simplify the process. Additionally, a great enhancement would be the ability to host meetings and calls directly within the platform to eliminate the need for multiple tools. Another valuable feature would be an AI-powered note-taker, similar to Otter.ai, to capture meeting notes and track goals efficiently. Lastly, while the platform is easy to use, some features could be more customizable, especially reporting and analytics, and the UI could benefit from a more modern update.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Small Improvements, we didn’t have a formal review process in place. This platform is helping us gradually build a structured approach to performance management by centralizing feedback, goal-setting, and performance reviews. It has made it easier to implement continuous feedback and create a more transparent and accountable culture. Over time, this is helping us establish a more consistent and effective review process that supports employee growth and development

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> Thanks, Lauren! It's been amazing to work with you too. I'm so glad to hear that Small Improvements is providing value to your team.

I really appreciate your feedback as well. Our tool is always evolving to meet the needs our customers, so I hope you'll always let us know how we can continue to enhance our features.

  ### 13. User-Friendly Performance Management, Needs More Notification Reminders

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Such a wonderful and easy-to-use performance management system!

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I wish there were more frequent reminders on when to send email notifications about check-ins, meetings, etc.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements has helped tremendously with our performance management reviews, 1-on-1 meetings, and objective/goal setting.

  ### 14. Like the review format

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I really appreciate how streamlined the review cycles and performance feedback features are. It’s easy for employees and managers to provide structured input, sign off on reviews, and keep track of goals. The interface feels intuitive from a regular user’s perspective, and the review templates let us capture meaningful feedback without too much admin overhead.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

The integration settings can be confusing and cumbersome, especially when it comes to SFTP or HRIS connections. As an admin, I find the setup process more complicated than it should be, and the documentation, while helpful, still leaves a lot of guesswork. It would be great if there were more user-friendly integration tools built directly into the platform, so we wouldn’t have to do so much manual troubleshooting.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements helps us streamline our performance review cycles, ensuring that managers and employees can quickly provide structured feedback and set clear goals. By centralizing all evaluations and objectives, we’ve eliminated much of the manual tracking we used to do with spreadsheets or separate tools. That means our team spends less time on administrative tasks and can focus on meaningful conversations and development instead. This structured feedback process also gives our leadership a clear overview of progress across the company, allowing us to identify coaching needs and celebrate high performers more effectively.

  ### 15. Using Small Improvements as our performance management tool has been great.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Outsourcing/Offshoring | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

The most helpful part of Small improvements is how we can have a full cycle performance review, 360 feedback, 1:1 meeting in 1 place. As an HR practitioner, it helps us be on track on our employee’s development.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I think what can be improved is the speed whenever I search names or cycle, it can sometimes takes too long.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before moving in Small Improvements, we are doing a performance review manually. We are creating reviews manually and it takes more time considering the size of our organization and is prone to human error. Being able to use Small Improvements helps us uses our time more efficiently and avoid human errors

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> Thank you for your review and that feedback! I'm glad to see that Small Improvements is getting to play a part in employee development.

  ### 16. Performance management no-brainer!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven A. | Director, Operational Support & Business insights , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I have used Si in both areas of my job. The most beneficial was leading CS Operations. The ability to conduct a complete performance review (Including self-assessments) was the most impressive feature we utuilized. Documentation being a huge challenge when we first adopted the tool, Si helped the org keep track of goals, agendas for 1:1's even the frequency of my leadership meeting with their staff!

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I would like to have the ability to have shared agendas. In meetings that are not 1:1, it would be really cool to be able to group participants to be able to see the agenda and interact. this feature request is something I would use VERY often!

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documentation of performance. Ability to set up a performance cycle, inclusive of objetives and goals. This helps track performance against goals for the year in a centralized location. Making it exteremely useful and beneficial for our staff during annual review periods.

  ### 17. A Great System for Performance Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristin S. | HR Generalist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I have found that Small Improvements is an easy-to-use, effective and impactful system to measure performance at my company. It is very easy to use for all levels of employee, has a lot of great features and has helped our company really define our mid year and annual performance review cycles.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I don't have many critiques of Small Improvements. I do think that adding on new features or trying to customize something for our origanization was a bit complicated but not a huge lift.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements has helped us simplify and further define our performance management process. Before we had Small Improvements, our process was bulky and confusing, with a rating system that didn't make a lot of sense. SI is extemely easy to use and has a lot of great features that we are able to utilize, like custom feedback forms for exit interviews, 30/90 day reviews, and end of internship feedback forms.

  ### 18. Small Improvements drives towards Big Improvements

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff L. | Senior Director of People, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Small Improvements allows us to keep a strong pulse between managers and employees. We have multiple ways to communicate within a structured, yet flexible, space throughout the year. We leverage it for quarterly check-in's, 1:1 meetings, and 360 feedback. We love how we can capture tasks, talking points, and notes (but also how it keeps us accountable to tasks from meeting to meeting). It's an easy interface and allows for flexibility in designing our own tempates.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

There is so much applicability of the tool, we often come up with "bolt on" ideas we'd like to have and there are limits to what can be added quickly.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements helps us remain accountable to a strong cadence in our communication between manager and employee, but also with each other (across teams and departments). It allows us to discuss key issues in a structure way daily, weekly, quarterly to strengthen Employee Performance (and engagement). We can use report functionality to hold to set standards and expectations. It can also be used for collecting insights from a group about an individual which helps us with our Manager Effectiveness initiatives.

  ### 19. All-Encompassing Performance Review Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I love the ease of navigating the directory and the amount of information I am able to enter for each employee's profile. I also enjoy the way that reviewers can be entered in bulk, the way their photos show up next to the reviewee's name in the cycle (so I can tell at a glance who the reviewers are), and the ease of the extension process. The "impersonate" feature is also extremely helpful for doing quick audits of performance reviews and troubleshooting problems. Customer suport is also very responsive and helpful!

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I do not like that it now automatically adds the reviewee and manager to the feedback cycle as reviewers, as these folks do not need to complete "feedback," only the evaluation. It is tedious to delete them every time before adding reviewers in. The nudging process is also unclear, as it seems that no matter what I choose in the cycle settings, folks still receive nudges randomly or very late. I also wish there was a feature to request reviewee nomimations from managers straight through the platform. I am currenty using Smartsheet to supplement this.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing multiple cycles to run at once so that question sets can be customized. This is helpful because we have a variety of job roles in the company with very different scopes of work.

  ### 20. Review Small improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Candice N. | HR Programs Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

It is a great tool for small size company. Easy to set up at an affordable rate. My company uses the review, objective/goal setting and schedule meeting for regular check-in. I like the ongoing feedback and can praise the coworkers/managers when they do a good job or show appreciation. Good customer support.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

It could be a challenge to customize the tools. My company is looking into tracking the quarterly rating for employees without employee and manager input. The review cycle function does not have such capability that we have to track them in a spreadsheet.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was not able to find the instruction how to set it up when I am new to the tool. The customer support provided me an instruction how to get start and some video/help guide.

  ### 21. Big Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas K. | Solutions Team Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Small Improvements is a straight forward tool.
Easy to onboard employees, set up new meeting templates, and recurring 1:1s.
The templates provided have been enough for our team and have improved our way of doing or performance reviews.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

There are no downsides on Small Improvements I can think of.
Everything is going well.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making sure all managers do their 1:1 with their employees.
Enabling employees have enough time and opportunity to log their thoughts before their 1:1 with their managers.
Align managers on following the same structure for 1:1s.

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> I really appreciate your review, Lucas! I'm glad to hear that your team is enjoying SI.

  ### 22. Helpful HR and Leadership Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rebeca D. | Human Resources Representative, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I do like that Small Improvements can be customized to fit our needs. The cascading goals is a wonderful tool for leadership to pass on goals to their team. Our leadership does find it very easy to follow the platform as well. If we ever have issues, their customer service responds rather quickly and is able to help us out.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I do not find anything I do no like about Small Improvements. All their tools have been incredibly helpful.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping by providing an accessible platform for leadership to be able write performance reviews, assign goals and work, and to be able to schedule 1:1 with employees. It also gives the employees a personal connection with other by providing a praise board.

  ### 23. Bringing people together

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liz L. | Human Resources Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Easy to use! Fun to see what praises are sent out within the organization.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

Looking at past praises is difficult unless you want to use an Excel spreadsheet. I would like to be able to see the actual praise.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Letting employees publicly share what is going well.

  ### 24. SI is a great plataform for performance reviews

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ana Cristina C. | Senior HR Generalist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I like that is easy to set up and that it gives you a structure also that you get a lot of notifications when doing a performance review.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

We are currently doing peer reviews, without employees having to add any reviews physically. We are not able to remove the text box it would be good to be able to remove.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It´s solving that we have all information in SI about Performance Reviews and we can just look for everything in the website.

  ### 25. Solid product with room to improve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I appreciate that 1:1 notes, goals, and performance review content can all be kept in one place. I also appreciate the efforts made to make the work of managers less overwhelming, and the relative ease of navigation. And, the automation between Small Improvements and Google Calendar is very handy. Customer support has also been very good.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

Small Improvements is one of the only tools of its kind on the market that doesn't offer goal trees (individual performance goals linked to team performance goals linked to department goals linked to company goals), which means we either have to build the trees externally or otherwise engage all of our users on how their work connects to broader impact. I'd also love to see more embedded AI (example: with access to six months of data from goal progress, notes, feedback, etc. on a direct report, AI assist for managers on answering performance review questions).

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem: without a tool to centralize it, feedback, goal progress, 1:1 conversation notes, and performance reviews would be a heavy lift with each manager reinventing the wheel to track them. Small Improvements centralizes and streamlines them.

  ### 26. Small Improvements has brought value to our performance management process.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Keeps most performance related data in one place. Creates a process for scheduling annual reviews. Really like the praise feature. The objectives feature is really great, especially since managers and HR can have visibility.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

A little clunky at times. Doesn't account for reviews based on anniversary dates, instead of annual cycles. Emails aren't always clear. Only partially integrates with BambooHR.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlined performance management. Helps us to continue to improve our processes.

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> Thank you for this review and your feedback! We're always looking to find ways to optimize the overall experience of our customers.

  ### 27. best performance reviews and feedback software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I like how easy it is to set up reviews and track employee goals. The interface is clear, and it helps us give feedback more often and more effectively. I also like the option where you can set your performance on the graph and compare it with your managers feedback.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

It is quite a bit of complicated to get everything set up, also more guidance to this tool when you are new would be helpful.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting goals, and tracking these. Perfect tool for performane reviews with your manager.

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> Thank you for the review!! We want to provide a top tier platform that is easy to use for all of our customers.

I also appreciate your feedback on more guidance for new users. We'll continue to add to and enhance our help and guidance resources to make using Small Improvements the easiest and most efficient it can be.

  ### 28. Great for accountability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate D. | Chief People Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Small improvements integration with BambooHR takes away the manual requirement to upload all the users
Ability to configure the system to use your language (ie changing the words performance reviews)

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

It is quite a bit of admin to get everything set up, and setting up the performance review cycles feels a bit clunky sometimes

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The adoption has slowly increased through the cycles. It's meant that we have greater visibility of our teams actually completing performance reviews

  ### 29. Great performance management platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaitlyn P. | H, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

We have been using Small Improvements for approximately five years now, and our staff have fully embraced the platform. We use it for goal setting, feedback, 1:1 meetings, reviews and kudos.

Whenever I have had any type of issue, the customer service has been top notch!

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

There are some limitations but that comes down to technology limitations. We have a very flat org structure, and some staff have a direct Manager and some do not, they only have a Coach, we have not been able to group those as one.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cumbersome form-filling and accountability! We love being able to document feedback and meeting notes to come back to in the future.

  ### 30. User Friendly and Intuitive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I like that it is very user friendly and intuitive. I like that there is a separate module for the annual review and for the goal setting.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

Customer support could be better (access to a phone call). But overall a great platform.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Away from paper review and now it's all in a database that is easily accessible

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> Thank you for your positive review! We pride ourselves on our intuitive and user-friendly design. We’re also always looking for ways to improve our service, so I appreciate your feedback.

  ### 31. Great intuitive system

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Very interactive UI, easy to use as an administrator. Customer support are always on hand only a mail or call away. We were able to customise particular components which was excellent.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

At times it can be slightly laggy given volume of employees we have in the system

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quarterly reviews
Feedback loops for employees to gain better insights

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> Thank you for your review! We're always happy to help or troubleshoot with our customers.

Thank you for that feedback as well! We want you to be able to operate SI without those lags, so I'll be sure to loop our developers in to see what can be done.

  ### 32. Easy to use and includes all of the features I need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in International Trade and Development | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

It's very simple to use and easy to access old information, etc. The automatic alerts are very usefu as well.
I've had great experience with customer support they are quick and friendly. We use SI daily.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

There are some integrations/automations which I wish were better, for example google calendar set up for 1:1 meetings
I also wish there were a way to exclude entire users from the 360 process, for example now users can add anyone from the directory to give proactive feedback to, but we need to limit that every year because some people are able to opt out.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Standardization of processes
- Record keeping
- Follow up, making sure supervisors are doing processes that they are supposed to be doing
- Clear documentation for performance management
- Makes the 360 process much simpler

  ### 33. Pretty Simple to Use Once you Get the Hang of It

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

It's pretty good for running feedback processes. It's dashboard makes it simple on the employee side to know which reviews they need to complete. The side by side manager view when writing reviews is helpful, as are the resources that allow you to see past reviews and easily access 360 feedback.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

The notification process for feedback cycles are not as intuative as I would like. The UI on the back end is decent but has a few areas that could be simpler like notification, timeline extension, etc.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Administering seamless performance management. I'm able to use Small Improvements pretty well now after a few cycles to administer pretty seamless performance feedback processes.

  ### 34. User Friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

- UI is appealing and sensical
- Many features that are helpful for tasks
- Employees have found SI easy to use and understand

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

- Customer service is a bot, which I personally don't like
- It would be helpful to have walkthroughs available for various tooling

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing a comprehensive overview for performance, feedback, and employee ratings. Having everything in one place, with options for different features, allows us to expand our performance review abilities.

  ### 35. Great People Analytics Software buttttt high cost

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Love the ease of use & simple set-up process for our performance management cycle with easy-to-use features .

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

High Cost for team working in Low Capita incomes like India.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Loving our Performance cycle needs while being easy to USE

**Official Response from Alec Irion:**

> We're thrilled to hear that Small Improvements has been beneficial for your performance management cycle.

We understand your concern about the cost and are committed to providing competitive pricing while delivering valuable features. Your feedback is important to us, and we will take this to heart to inform future decisions about our pricing structure.

  ### 36. Perfect for a small-medium, nimble organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I've now implemented Small Improvements at 3 companies as their first software-based performance management system. While each time has been a bit different based on the employee population, they have all been successful and I attribute this to the simple user interface. Since I"ve been with them for so long, it's been great to see their own improvements, small and not-so-small, over the years. The customer support is excellent and they really listen to user feedback.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I would say that the challenges with Small Improvements are less about the product than about the culture of the organization and their willingness to buy into new ways of doing things. But the simplicity of SI helps with that to a great extent.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before implementing Small Improvements, reviews were done on pdfs which was outdated, clumsy, non-collaborative and provided no insight for more senior managers.

  ### 37. Small Improvements Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Very user friendly, there's a lot of functions on the site.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

Some of the robust features are underutilized on our end as we don't have a full understanding of them, mindful there are videos but some demos with the reps and partnering through a role out would be helpful.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy use and documentation of the performance reviews, easily houses it all in one place and easily accessible.

  ### 38. Easy and efficient

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anne D. | Customer Support Expert, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Small Improvements is easy to use, and it has a friendly UI that is intuitive. I also like the bright yellow color which shows positive vibes. I used this website quite regularly to keep track of my goals

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I couldn't think of anything at the moment, it is good for my use as an end user

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking personal and team goals, and help me see my goals

  ### 39. Helpful and easy to understand program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

The layout and style of the website it clean and easy to understand. Email reminders are helpful to send to staff too. Ease of use, anmd

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

Sometimes it's hard if I want to add multiple people to a review but the program doesn't allow it.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have an organization with 50 people, and it's helpful to have one program to manager all the reviews, and not have to save them in multiple spots of email reminders. Small Improvements takes care of all of that.

  ### 40. Keeps improvement at top-of-mind

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh A. | Post-Production Manager & Post-Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

With Small Improvements, I like how individual and team improvement is consistently reminded. There are helpful prompts and ways to measure the small ways teams can thrive and be successful. The health of the individual and overall team can only effectively succeed if it's being measured, and this tool offers that measurement.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

As a user, I am sometimes annoyed at how often measurement is requested. I know it is helpful to consistently measure, but it can take extra time and focus away from productivity.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements is solving the need for the measurement of team and individual happiness, success, productivity, and feedback. It is important for employees to give anonymous feedback so it can be genuine and authentic. Every employer should trust it's employees to speak candidly, so this tool allows that to be possible. Otherwise, it's impossible to really gauge how happy employees are, which in turn does effect the overall health of the business.

  ### 41. Great, easy-to-use performance management tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

As our HR admin, I appreciate the variety of settings for performance reviews, 360 reviews, and Objective setting. Our team has been using Small Improvements for 10 years to set orgnaizational goals and assess progress towards our goals!

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I have had to tinker a bit to understand some of the 360 review settings--who selects the reviews, who can see the reviews, etc.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements is used for our mid-year and annual performance reviews, 360 staff feedback, and annual objective setting.

  ### 42. Has made my life as a team lead easier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

- Ability to easily track objectives (both set and review weekly)
- Ability to streamling process of creating, sharing and reminding people of 360 and performance reviews

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

- It's integration with google calendar relies is one-directional (from Google calendar to SI, not the other way around)
- It's a shame the "pulse survey" is not included in the basic plan but too expensive to merit the cost of upgrade
- It's not possible to update all fields of an objective from the 1on1 pane
- No easy way to review prior appraisal reccomended actions from 1on1 pane

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making the 360 review and performance appraisal process easier, and making 1on1s more productive.

  ### 43. Good for Feedback

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I like how customizable it is and how encouraging it is for employees to provide feedback

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

Cycles can be tedious to set up, and templates can't be shared across modules

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping us generate more feedback opportunities, manage feedback loops, and encourage the development of our employees

  ### 44. It's been pretty easy to use small improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Betty C. | Chief of Staff, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

-being able to do 360 performance reviews and track them as an admin

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

-sometimes it can be hard to set up the reviews

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to track all our performance reviews in one system, ratings, feedbacks, etc.

  ### 45. Provides the clarity we need and introduces no confusion. Been a user since the very beginning -

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

It's clarifying for our managers and our team
It's simple and they don't over try to introduce too many features that confuse users
It's consistent
The team behind it are as genuine and consistent as well and that's what I want to provide for my tea,

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

You can sometimes feel like you're missing out of features that other products have, but when you really sit back and think about it, those features aren't actually needed and end up confusing users.
We think of Small Improvements as an interface to the human side of our team, and at the core those things don't change.
I think one downside is also that the tool should be paired along side a solid, coaching based approach for leadership development for maximum gain from the tool and some might think that just putting in the tool will automatically make magic happen.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides a consistent interface for our employees to use and be guided by their managers over their careers.
It doesnt over burden our team to use.

  ### 46. Great Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

User friendly; easy to navigate; cost efficiency

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

Technical issues (sometimes having issue with logging in but not often)

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing performance management solutions for regular reviews

  ### 47. user friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael Marcellana F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

just like a social media inter face and also i can get an update from the management

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

none, everything is all good. i no problem using it

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it will benefit me because i've got all the coaching seasion from my supervisor

  ### 48. Sufficient for small businesses

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

I like how easy it is to set up performance review cycles for an entire company. It is easy to select everybody, managers, or just a few individuals for each review. Visibility can also be easily changed if needed

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

I would have liked small improvements to have the ability to have an employee have more than one direct or indirect manager as my company has many employees with multiple managers. Due to this not all managers could give feedback within small improvements

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small improvements helps my company stay on tops of KPI's and actually track employee improvements each year. It helps us figure out who actually deserves promotions because we can go back and look how they have done over their time at the company

  ### 49. An effective tool for workplace communication and improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Small Improvements?**

Small Improvements its an excellent tool for communicating with supervisors and scheduling things like meetings and performance reviews. It allows the company to send surveys to gauge employee satisfaction and receive feedback on where things can be improved, which helps everyone be more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Small Improvements?**

Small Improvements is excellent at corporate level communication, but doesn't have much other use. I find that our team only uses this platform when necessary, as other methods of communication are much easier and private.

**What problems is Small Improvements solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small Improvements provides employees with a safe place to share feedback with management. It is where I go to see performance reviews and answer surveys from my supervisors.

  ### 50. Quarterly check-ins made simple
