What I Like About Brightflag: After evaluating multiple e-billing solutions, we adopted Brightflag this year to modernize our outside counsel spend management, and it's exceeded expectations on several fronts.

AI-Powered Invoice Review: The automated invoice routing and approvals features have been transformative for our team. For a lean legal operations team supporting a global, all-remote company, this time savings directly translates to more bandwidth for strategic work. The AI flags guideline violations and discount application issues immediately, which has tightened our spend controls considerably.

Implementation Speed: Brightflag's implementation was remarkably fast compared to other enterprise legal tech we've deployed. When they shared that we would be up and running within 1 month of signature, I was skeptical, but the Brightflag team delivered. Their team understood our cross-functional requirements and configured the system accordingly. We were up and running in weeks, not months.

What do you like best about Brightflag?

I have worked with the Brightflag team and their product for six years. When considering total cost of implementation and ownership, as well as functionality and performance, I believe it is by far the best Ebilling system available. I have used and implemented nearly every legal technology in the ELM space, so I am familiar with both the strengths and weaknesses of these platforms. Brightflag, which was built on AI from the beginning, is exceptionally easy to implement and use. In contrast, other platforms often require months or even years to implement and can cost up to a hundred times more. I continue to request that they advance the development of features on their roadmap. I would like to see greater depth in work types, taxonomy, accruals, and other areas. I’ve used Brightflag for a few years now across two different legal operations teams, and it’s consistently been the best tool in its category. The setup process is smooth, especially with the guidance of the implementation and success teams. What really sets Brightflag apart, in my opinion, is that their customer success managers stay involved long after implementation. They’re always there to help tailor the platform to your organization’s specific needs, and the platform itself is designed with in-house legal teams in mind, which makes it far more intuitive and effective than generic spend management tools. It also integrates with many adjacent systems your finance teams may already use, which makes it even more seamless for cross-functional partners to adopt as part of existing processes. I love the way Brightflag allows me, as an administrator, to help both internal users and external users - many problems are solved by having this administrator talking to both sides. I also like the help service provided by Brightflag - it's normally Tom who comes back to us and he is very quick and can solve most problems instantly. What do you like best about Brightflag?

From the moment of implementation to our daily use, we have had great support with the implementation team, training, CSM and customer support. Everyone works with you to obtain the results you want to obtain and/or fix a hiccup and learn how to use the system. We were no longer tracking accruals and expenses manually and being able to control timekeeper rates, budgets, reporting, forecasting spend, communication with regards to expectations for year and being able to institute that decision. We have a special function required for certain vendors and Brightflag worked with us to be able to upload different invoices and track a different accrual. The Brightflag team is always working to help us obtain the results that are required. Our CSM is always available and communicates with us frequently to make sure everything is ok, and our monthly meetings help us keep Brightflag clean and gives insights of any patterns that we might want to address.
