**What do you like best about Homebase?**

It's so usable and versatile. My company uses other employee softwares as well, so we don't use every feature of Homebase but it still works really well, and the integration between the apps are seamless. This is an essential part of every business, and Homebase makes it really accessible for a business owner of any experience level. It runs really well, never have had any hiccups or glitches, and the pricing seems fair (about 700 per year and then you don't have to worry about it). Additionally, the AI schedule making tool is really well done. I had my doubts about it for a while, but it saves me a bunch of time.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

Sometimes when I say that I do not want to notify anyone about new schedules, emails still get sent out to half the company and clutter up peoples inboxes. I also don't really notice the AI doing anything most of the time - it seems more like a fancy tech buzzword than an actual feature that deserves advertisement.

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a huge help in terms of easy, reliable timecards and schedule making. I love how it summarizes all of the discrepancies in time cards in any given time frame.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

Love the features for scheduling.  Employees have connection via the app and have the opportunity to trade schedules, put in their days off.  I love how Homebase payroll is connected making payroll a breeze.  Homebase greatly improves my workflow because I spend less time with scheduling and payroll.  Navigating is smooth.  Performance is fast and reliable.  Pricing is a little high so my ROI isn't as good as I want it to be.  I haven not seen any AI features so I am unable to review that side of Homebase.  Support is not always easy to get and when you do, they dont always have a good answer for the issue.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

Pricing is a little high for what I get.  I HATE that payroll has to be done 4 days before payday, and I don't like how the payroll cost is removed from my bank account 4 days before I pay my employees.  This is a cash flow killer. There is NO GRACE if you miss your deadline (which is 4 days before actual payday).  I missed my deadline because of an error caused by Homebase and yet I had to move my payday from Friday to the following Tuesday.  That was crap for sure!  I wish support was better and more helpful.

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer have to do scheduling manually.  Homebase points out any errors or conflicting situations while I enter my schedules.  Also, I spend less time on payroll because my timesheets are in the same system as my payroll.  I have more time to do other things.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

We’ve been using Homebase￼ at our boutique for scheduling, time tracking, and team communication, and it has made managing day-to-day operations so much easier. With a retail team and constantly changing schedules, having everything in one place has been a huge help.

The scheduling system is very user-friendly for both managers and employees. We especially love how easy it is for staff to view schedules, request time off, swap shifts, and communicate directly through the app. It has helped reduce scheduling confusion and saved us a lot of time every week.

As a small business owner, I also appreciate how organized and efficient the platform feels. It’s simple to use, reliable, and has helped us streamline operations while keeping everyone on the same page. Overall, Homebase has become an important part of how we run our business, and I would definitely recommend it to other small business owners looking for an easy and effective scheduling solution.

The only thing I don’t like is that I can’t access all information from the app on my phone, I need my computer to access complete information, and I am always doing things on the go

It solves everything…….. payroll is always accurate and on time, scheduling is so much easier and everyone can plan accordingly, no more mistakes or guessing on timesheets.  I’m just sad I didn’t find you guys sooner.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

I like that Homebase is very easy to use and has many great features that make scheduling, time card management, and payroll a breeze. It's extremely valuable for our business, helping us manage and keep track of where everyone is in case of an emergency. We can easily check where someone is and keep better track of weekly hours to ensure everyone is getting the hours they need. The initial setup was very easy too.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

One thing that doesn't work too well is making changes to the schedule on the app. There's many times that we want to publish just one day but can't since it doesn't give us the option. So, we have to get on a desktop to make the changes. The only thing I see that would need improvement is like I had mentioned is making the change in the app. If possible, it would be great to have the option to make single day changes in the app without publishing the whole week instead of going to a computer to make those changes.

We use Homebase for scheduling in our home health setting. It helps manage where everyone is during emergencies, simplifies running the business, and tracks weekly hours to ensure proper staffing.

I manage a volunteer pool of 50+ people and previously created schedules manually, on paper. I love how Homebase cut my scheduling time by half. For me, ease of use is the thing I like best about Homebase.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

Overall, the benefits outweigh any inconvenient aspects of the platform, but if I had to provide a dislike, I would say that I wish I had the ability to copy an entire month's schedule and paste it into a new month, instead of only having the capability of copying a week at a time.

The mere fact that I no longer have to track hours and schedules by hand is a huge timesaver. A also like having the ability for volunteers to see and claim open shifts themselves, instead of going through me via phone calls and emails. Huge timesaving benefit.

What I like most about Homebase is that it brings payroll and time tracking together in a single platform. **What do you like best about Homebase?**

I love how Homebase has significantly reduced my payroll processing time from about two or three hours to just twenty minutes. The setup was really easy, and the Homebase staff helped transfer our information from Paychex over, which was great. Everything I need for payroll is right there and easy to access, so I don't have to navigate all over the website to find things.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

When staff want to swap shifts or take the shift of another available person, I'm not able to see it when I first log in to Homebase. I go to the dashboard, and sometimes I don't see it there. However, I do receive an email alert about swap requests or accepting open shifts, but I don't see it immediately in Homebase.

Homebase saves me a lot of time on biweekly payroll, reducing it from hours to about twenty minutes. It also helps keep track of scheduling efficiently.

Homebase has made time clock, scheduling, payroll, and employee communications very simple for my business. With everything easily accessible, I am saved time and my staff is able to complete tasks as well as communicate very easily.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

Occasionally, my staff can’t clock in and/or out. I’m not sure whether this is a Homebase issue or an internet connection problem on our end. I also wish the Time Off screen had a calendar view, since that would make it easier to see requests at a glance.

I like that Homebase literally covers every aspect of my business from payroll to time sheets, to scheduling and team management. It's really the one all-in-one app for running a business. I appreciate having a time clock for clocking in and out for shifts and for taking breaks. The hiring assistance and HR functions are also valuable. The pay functions and the ability to track my team and scheduling are so helpful in running a business. I also found the initial setup of Homebase to be extremely easy, and I really got a feel for its functionality during the trial. It was an easy decision to switch to Homebase because using the app is effortless.

I dislike that I didn’t know about Homebase sooner.

I’ve been using Homebase for employee scheduling and time tracking, and it’s been very easy to work with. Creating and setting up shifts is straightforward, and I especially appreciate the mobile app because it makes communicating with the team quick and efficient.

That said, there are a couple of areas that could be improved, such as more customization options in reports and the occasional lag with notifications.

Overall, it’s a solid tool for small to medium-sized teams, and I’d recommend it to businesses that want a simple, user-friendly scheduling solution.

I find Homebase incredibly easy to use and not confusing at all. It's personalized to my business, and my coaches really enjoy using it, especially when they look at their clock-in streak and their percentage of being on time. I like the feedback I receive after they clock out. The templates for scheduling are super easy and streamline the process. Homebase simplifies scheduling by allowing me to see everyone's availability and move shifts around easily. I love the feature where my coaches or employees can trade shifts without needing my approval. Setting it up was a breeze with no prior experience, and I managed to do it in no time with hardly any questions.

For the businesses I administrate, the geofencing has been one of the most valuable tools.  With contractors coming in at off hours, it is important to know that their time is honest.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

The reports are the only thing I dislike about Homebase. It would be very helpful to be able to generate an easily printable time report for a specific employee covering any date range I choose.

Homebase makes it easy for me to pay employees and contractors by providing a clear summary of each person's time in the pay-period review section, allowing me to quickly verify hours before processing payroll.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

I use Homebase mainly for timeclocks and communication. The GPS feature works out really well when we need it. I love how easy it is to do payroll, it cuts my time in half! I also like how Homebase shows who has read the messages and who hasn't, keeping everyone on the same page. The initial setup of Homebase was very easy!

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

I have not explored any other features actually. I would like to utilize the schedule tab better.

I use Homebase for timeclocks and communication. The GPS feature works well, once the initial issues were resolved. Payroll is easy, and it halves my time while keeping everyone on the same page. I like seeing who has read messages.

I use Homebase for work to manage employees clocking in. I appreciate how it made it very easy to manage our time and attention on our employees. I also find that we can easily fix hours and keep up with them. The Time Clock feature is the one I use the most, as it's really valuable for tracking employee hours. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy, which made onboarding smooth.

When an update happens. I’m scared of what happened a couple weeks back when it crashed and it was a horrible 48 hours to wait for the updated app to work.

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Homebase Payroll. This has been one of the most frustrating and damaging software experiences we’ve ever dealt with as a business.

Homebase failed payroll claiming “insufficient funds” even though the account absolutely had the money available. Instead of helping resolve the issue quickly, they completely locked our payroll system and prevented us from paying employees altogether — including blocking us from running paper checks or direct deposit payroll.

Support was painfully slow and dismissive during a time-sensitive payroll emergency. We were bounced between automated chat systems and agents who seemed more interested in telling us to “wait” than actually solving the problem. We repeatedly explained that employees needed to be paid immediately, but we kept getting scripted responses and delays.

We wired funds instantly to resolve the issue, sent proof of payment, and were STILL told they wouldn’t unlock payroll because they “couldn’t locate the funds.” Then we were warned not to send another payment while simultaneously being told payroll would remain locked until the payment cleared. Completely contradictory and irresponsible.

At one point we were literally told to “just pay employees by check” after already explaining the system had us locked out from doing exactly that. Nobody appeared to understand the urgency or the legal implications of blocking payroll access.

The entire experience felt hostile, disorganized, and negligent. Payroll providers should NEVER put businesses in a position where employees can’t get paid because of internal processing delays and poor support communication.

We lost trust completely and are actively moving away from Homebase after this experience. If your business depends on reliable payroll operations, especially under deadlines, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

That is a one stop shop for my employees. We used to have 3 systems, and my employees had to have a separate login to each to do what we now do all in Homebase.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

I would like to receive more alters when my staff clocks in late or clocks out outside of the Geofence. The little star next to the time sheet is easily missed. If out of the Geofence then it would be nice to send an alter to the manager that had to be approved. 

Also, we have several servers, and it would be great if when they clock out it prompts them to enter tips. They are missing this step several times, and it makes more work for payroll.

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are still working on an ongoing issue with sick time not calculating correctly. I have not heard back in about a week.

I like how Homebase helps me to easily plan the daily and weekly activities, and organize who is going to work where and at what time. It works the majority of the time and is very useful for employee scheduling and workflow during the day. The initial setup of Homebase was pretty straightforward and we didn't have any issues other than a few glitches.

I use Homebase to communicate with my small Lifeguard team and to schedule when they work. Homebase has been a game changer for me. I used to write out our schedule on paper and it would take forever, now with Homebase, I can send out a schedule within 10 minutes. If there are any changes or people needing to trade shifts, we communicate through the app, and it’s been so easy to use! I find Homebase to be such a great communication tool for work. It’s visually appealing and set up very organized. The initial setup for my team was very easy, and I appreciate how simple it was to get started.

I wish I could make some more notes about what to expect on the shifts, but that’s just a minor thing. Other than that, there’s not really anything I don’t like.

I like that Homebase is user-friendly, especially how the titles are nice and bold on the left-hand side. It's nice to see everybody's schedule, and I can always log in to see if someone I need to talk to is at work or not. This is valuable because if someone is off work, I know not to bother them on their day off. I can also see when they started, are closing, or leaving for the day, which is beneficial as a part-time manager.

It took a while to get my PIN for setting up on my phone, and logging in can be hard, as I often have to log in at the store even though I didn't log out. I get logged out all the time and that’s frustrating.

I like that its basic features are free which are enough for small business owners with limited employees and does not need to full features. Its free version has many features available to use and is very reasonable. Its paid versions are great for business as my business will grow. I have been using it since 2018 and have recommended it to many business owners that need time clock in, and scheduling.  The team can view their own schedule make request for time off and more. Its great and simple.

the price for the full or advance features. Like payroll, having the base fee, then for each employee, and or subcontractor or independent contractor those cost can make using the program expensive, especially if certain contractors are only used for 1 to 3 projects. or for limited time periods

I like that Homebase is a one-stop shop for time cards and scheduling, as everything from the schedule to the team's punches is very convenient. It all loads seamlessly into payroll when it's time, which makes things a lot easier for me. I also found the initial setup of Homebase to be very easy.

Multi Store support. Its very much a pain to have to toggle between my 3 store locations all the time. I should have a master hub that can do it all. Another pain point is seeing my teams hours. Several of them work at different locations and its difficult to see their total hours since the system separates it by location.

I love that Homebase drastically reduces the time it takes me to put a schedule together, from two or three hours down to just 30 minutes. I really appreciate being able to update anything at any time, and having everything I need to do my job right at my fingertips on my phone, tablet, or computer. I also like how easy it is to fix time clocks and see everyone's working hours all in one spot. The initial setup of Homebase was very easy, which I found great.

Using the app versus the webpage can be frustrating because on the webpage I can correct the schedule, time clocks, and edit time offs, but I can't do these things on the app. It would be better if the app could do everything the website can do, and it'd be helpful to know ahead of time when maintenance is going to happen.

I use Homebase to keep track of everyone's time and generate Timecards at the end of each week. I find it helps us be better prepared for Payroll by allowing us to ensure everyone's time is recorded correctly without having to check physical timecards. I appreciate that it was simple to set up and it's free for us to use. I also like the ability to print out Timecards and a list of our Employees, which makes updating information much easier.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

From time to time there seem to be small glitches, but it is not very often. When making a change to a Timecard, it is not always reflected on the Weekly Report. I have to double-check that the hours actually changed and were updated. This has probably happened about 6 times, and we've been using Homebase for over a year.

I use Homebase to track everyone's time and generate a Weekly Report which I print out by Employee and use as our weekly Timecard for entering Payroll on site. It helps with payroll preparedness because we can check time entries without physical cards and it allows printing Weekly Reports by Employee and Employee lists for easy updates on our on site Payroll program.

It is very user friendly and extremely easy to use. It makes suggestions while I am creating the schedule and that has saved me many hours. The app allows my staff to easily see their schedule and organize their time off requests. The payroll subscription is cheaper than having my CPA process payroll. It is easy to get support by calling their support phone number.

Sometimes the support is slow or they do not have a good answer. I send the support team an email and do not hear back quickly. I wish they were faster to respond.

OT and asking for salary in advance were not well implemented. When I requested for OT, my manager sometimes didn't see the request. I don't know if there was no notification sent or if my manager just didn't check, but it happened the same for advance salary requests; this was not available at all.

There are so many features to Homebase. Scheduling, onboarding, timesheets and reporting. All very helpful in the operations and labor reporting of a business. Was easy to set up, and is easy to use but thorough. Pricing for it is also very competitive to other systems. We use it on a daily basis and it works for exactly what we need without major headaches. Also easy for the employees on their end of it as well. Communication, scheduling, etc.

Features will change randomly, therefore it sometimes takes a bit to reacclimate to the functions. Also, a minor issue but when going into the schedule tab, most times, it does not default to the week we are currently in. Usually defaults to a past week (sometimes from a month before), which has thrown off managers looking at the schedule in a quick snapshot.

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the main areas that Homebase has helped with is watching labor costs and labor hours. It has become an easy way to pull reports to see where we stand in a quick timeframe, to be able to operationally make changes to our staffing and adjust accordingly to where we need to be.

Once approved, requests are blocked out in the scheduling part of the app, so I don't accidentally schedule someone. I love creating calendar templates because it makes my weekly scheduling quick and simple. Also, employees can submit time-off requests and they're directly put into the scheduling calendar, which is really convenient. I appreciate that employees can communicate, request shift trades, and once approved, these are immediately adjusted on the calendar. The initial setup was very easy, relatively intuitive, and quick for my employees, who also find it easy to use. They love that I do my schedule on it.

I like that everything is built into one place with Homebase. Instead of using separate tools for communication, scheduling, and payroll, everything is conveniently in one spot. I really enjoy how the schedules are based off the timesheets, which makes it easier for trainers at our gym, as their classes are scheduled at the same time every week, every month, every day. I can efficiently manage additional earnings through features like adding commission for our trainers and sales associates based on attendance or sales targets. The ability to add recurring payments like Danielle’s monthly stipend directly into the payroll is really helpful. I also love the add-on features for payroll, which make handling complex pay structures much smoother.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

The only thing that does not work well is the onboarding process. Transparently, it was terrible. Every single associate and trainer minus three people needed, like, hand holding through the onboarding process. Also, it seems like there's, like, six different ways to get onboarded. You could do it through the app, you could do it through the website, you can follow these specific instructions. And, they kept sending me, like, different links and articles. It was also confusing because you would get an email that would say, click here to begin your onboarding process, but then, like, nothing worked through the email. Then it was like, oh, we'll use the app, but then, like, sometimes the app didn't work. And it was like, use the Internet web browser on your phone. Oh, use the desktop. Oh, no. Actually, the Internet web browser on your phone is the best way to do it. The desktop is the worst. It honestly made no sense. It seemed like there's no right or wrong, and so each person, it was a different hurdle until we got it figured out. A lot of them, I had to manually input their direct deposit information because they couldn't figure it out, but that's, like, the only area of Homebase that was a complete struggle for me. And instead of the software benefiting me or partnering with me, it partnered against me. I would say looking into that and trying to find further ways to make it smooth, efficient, and easy would be extremely helpful, especially when you're hopping into a new software with a team of 30 plus people.

I appreciate the seamless operation it offers. Switching from ADP, I've been able to save money. Additionally, obtaining tax forms and documents is fairly easy, and the ability to reach the entire team with updates has been a nice feature.

It would be nice to have employees with multiple duties they are clocking in and out for - to only be able to clock in and out for the current times. I do have to manually go in every day and change things around for certain employees. Also, it would be nice if they can only clock in and out when they are in my business. I'm not sure how far away they have to be to do this, but I've caught several instances where they clock in prior to being in my business 15-20 minutes early. Only with my cameras am I able to make sure they are being honest since I'm not in the business every day.

I really like how easy Homebase is to use. Everyone always says it's just so easy when they sign up and they never have any issues. The scheduling and messaging system are also great. The messaging system is my favorite because I can send messages right when I think of something, and we can make group chats too. It's a great experience overall because it allows viewing of salaries and borrowing money from next week's check if needed. I also appreciate how simple it makes keeping in contact with everyone, even if they're not there for the day.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

Sometimes the login process lags a little bit, and it kicks people out and doesn't let them log back in. I do wish that would be fixed.

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Homebase for scheduling to keep everyone updated and in contact, simplifying communication and ensuring awareness of shifts. It allows viewing salaries, handling cash flow, and supports task management with separate conversations.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

Homebase made it easy to keep track of when my employee actually clocked in and out at the work truck instead of me having to text or call to confirm. The biggest benefit for me was having one simple place to check hours, see attendance, and avoid confusion about start times. It helped keep things organized and gave me more peace of mind, especially when work started on-site instead of at a fixed location.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

What I liked least was that the app could feel a little clunky at times, especially for quick mobile clock-ins when work starts on-site. For a small business, you want the process to be as simple and fast as possible. I think the web user interface for managing all of it could be more streamlined.

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When you don't have an office and only have a yard to park the vehicle, Homebase helped. Employees can clock in on mobile, and I can set a geofence to make sure they’re where they say they are when they clock in.
