“User-Friendly, Organized, and Reliable—Optro Makes Testing Documentation Easy”
What do you like best about Optro?

I enjoy that it's user-friendly. The application is very organized & easy to navigate. It's been simple to teach to new users as well. I used to work in organizations where we documented all testing in Excel, so now using Optro has shown a big difference. The speed & reliability of the application is great as well. I've never really experienced any issues with work saving down or fast enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optro?

A room of improvement that I would suggest is to be able to pin certain control processes, for easier accessability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Optro solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's improving the efficiency of our team. It helps to not be dependent on Excel or manually documenting, uploading, & keeping track of everything that we are testing. It also helps for issue remediations, so that we can keep it more organized & it's easy to stay on a timeline to submit by our deadlines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“A great FP&A tool for reporting - Great team to help Implementation”
What do you like best about Datarails?

Datarails offers a great way to cleanly show concise data that can be drilled down into. I love the drill downs to the lowest level. Once you're set up it's really easy to use. I also love how easy it is to work with Excel. The data in datarails can also be extracted into excel means it is as diverse as you like. This takes some tweaking to get right but once it's there it's a dream to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

It's clearly still a new system, a few of the widgets need work and there are some nuances you come across every so often that shows how young it is in development. However, they have been quick to rectify a lot of these so credit to the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?

Datarails is able to take our data from various sources, be it a Sage Intacct Integration or a flat file and make it easily manipulatable. We have struggled with KPI reporting in the past so the fact we can get quick and easy KPIs ahead of the leaders of the business on working day 1 is fantastic. “Huge Time Saver: Customizable Excel-Friendly Reporting That Streamlines Everything”
What do you like best about Vena?

I like the customizability of reports, the ease of interfacing with Excel, and the streamlining of processes. One of the reports I use went from creating 50+ individual reports and emailing each one to the department manager to updating a single report template and giving the managers access to view it on Vena any time. Using the Task Bindings feature, I can lock down the report so each manager only sees their own department(s). If a change is needed, I only need to make it to the main template and all are updated. It is a huge time saver. Each year, I don't need to re-create reports for the new data, it is just a matter of updating the year that the report points at and everything else is automatic. This also reduces basic requests for account info since it is available to managers on demand, down to transaction-level details. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vena?

Vena's strength of customizability also means that if an implementation is not designed well from the beginning, it can be more challenging to use or improve going forward. A good design and setup is key. Many of the pre-built reports are pretty but overly complicated, and they can be challenging if not impossible to edit. I found that creating our own reports from scratch was the best way to get things the way I need them to work. Getting clear training and direction to create our own reports was more challenging than I would have liked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?

Vena has helped me automate many tasks that I used to have to do manually. It links spreadsheets together and pulls data from elsewhere in the database, saving me time tracking things down and verifying that a number of spreadsheets all have the same numbers - now they pull from the same source and match automatically. Vena has helped streamline several processes that used to involve a lot of emailing Excel sheets back and forth. Now we can just open a file, update data, and all the linked files will refresh with the new data. It saves a ton of time and reduces errors from hand-keying. Vena helps our managers to be self-sufficient in accessing their transaction data and tracking spending without needing to call or wait on someone to send it. I especially appreciate that the linked spreadsheets make our budget and forecasting process smoother and more efficient; even with more to do every year, it takes less time now than it ever has and we can get reports to the management team with very quick turnaround time. Aleph is simple, clean, and easy to use. Implementation was quick and there is no learning curve if you are familiar with your data. Aleph is the perfect fit for a team that is hesitant about moving completely away from spreadsheets to one of the big FP&A platforms. It is the number one solution for providing the flexibility of still living in Excel (using the add-in) and having access to new features like AI and designing dashboards, which their AI Conversation tool can do too. Additionally, the whole Aleph team is supportive and communication is always great. We feel like we are part of their journey to constantly improve because our feedback during monthly check-ins gets taken seriously and any requests for changes are quickly implemented, making the experience better not just for us, but all Aleph users. “Strong SOC 2 Compliance Framework, but the Experience Declines After Year One”
What do you like best about Sprinto?

Sprinto provides strong enough framework of compliance checks, periodic reminders and historical evidence necessary to complete SOC 2 audit.

1 year onboarding was good enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprinto?

After the first year of using Sprinto, our overall impression has become worse.

Not all important integrations are supported. For example, Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender for Cloud are missing.

There are also issues with the timing of periodic checks. For example, failed checks for periodic information security training appeared two months after the training should have been completed.

Dr. Sprinto is also unreliable. It constantly fails to send telemetry from team computers automatically, which turns the process into a manual exercise of reminding everyone to restore Dr. Sprinto reporting.

What makes this worse is that the support team does not seem to acknowledge these issues. Responses to simple questions take up to two weeks, and the replies usually suggest that everything is working correctly on Sprinto’s side and that the problems are on our side. “Powerful What-If Planning with Seamless ERP/CRM Connections”
What do you like best about Workday Adaptive Planning?

Workday Adaptive Planning stands out for its powerful Elastic Hypercube engine, which instantly processes complex "what-if" scenarios. The platform eliminates manual data entry by automatically connecting to your existing ERP and CRM systems. It bridges the gap between finance and operation teams through shared, real-time dashboards. Finally, its Office Connect feature lets you refresh live data inside familiar Excel models with a single click. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday Adaptive Planning?

Workday Adaptive Planning is kinda hard because it takes super long to load big charts and things. Sometimes the screens look really old like a computer from a long time ago. If you want to change stuff you have to learn hard rules and codes that are confusing. Also, it costs a whole lot of money so small companies can not buy it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Workday Adaptive Planning solving and how is that benefiting you?

Workday Adaptive Planning stops people from losing their work when old Excel files crash all the time. It brings all the numbers from different computers into one safe place so nobody gets confused. This helps you do your homework or business math way faster without making silly mistakes. Plus, you can guess what happens next in your business game without waiting for a super slow computer. “Fast Real-Time Reporting and Scalable Multidimensional Modeling in Anaplan”
What do you like best about Anaplan?

What I like most about Anaplan is the Polaris engine. Its sparse data approach gives us more flexibility with dimensionality without constantly running into space constraints. Data Orchestrator has also reduced our reliance on third-party integration tools by acting as a built-in hub for push/pull data flows. Workflow has made approvals and task handoffs much smoother across teams, and the recent NUX updates have made dashboards noticeably more intuitive to use. I also see a lot of potential in the new Co-Modeler to speed up model building and project deployment through AI-assisted configuration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anaplan?

The downsides are that the UX features aren’t very flexible compared to other reporting tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Anaplan solving and how is that benefiting you?

Anaplan is solving problems across supply chain and financial planning. It is helpful for planning and scenario-based use cases. Previously, users used to maintain different Excel files and versions for their zone and product, and consolidation, reconciliation, and reporting were challenging tasks. Anaplan provides a single platform where they can plan and report, and the reconciliation can be calculated by the platform itself according to the design built for that application. “User Friendly, Highly Customisable Reporting”
What do you like best about Fathom?

Fathom has a vast array of reporting tools that you can customise yourself.

This ranges from tables and graphs you can build, Non-financial reporting data in tables or graphs (you can choose), KPI's etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fathom?

Since the data synchronises every day - it would be great if I can build a report for month end, but in that same report I could ad the actual Debtors outstanding as at the reporting date. I always need to export this manually from the accounting software and then add it manually into the report. I mean the data synchronises up to that date... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Fathom solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've used a lot of reporting tools, and I always run into one of two problems:

They're either way too complex, which I've found makes building a customer report near impossible. You need to almost be a software developer to be able to use and apply these tools.

Or on the other hand they've attempted to be too used friendly, which means they limit you in what you can ad or view in tables (especially). Usually this means that you can only build non-financial data in a graph but not a table.

Fathom is honestly very user friendly, easy to navigate and understand and allows freedom to build whatever data you think is important for the client to view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Smooth accounting integration with easy reports, Excel exports, and great value”
What do you like best about Martus?

Martus integrates smoothly with our accounting software and provides useful reports that staff can run easily. It also lets us set permissions in a way that gives users straightforward access to their own departments. The reports are simple to run and save. The software allows for exports to and imports from Excel, which we find exceptionally handy in budget preparation. The cost is very reasonable for the tools it affords us. Martus syncs each night with our accounting system so actual revenue and expenses are kept up-to-date. Their team helped us get set up and trained in short order and we could start using it right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

Martus has very beneficial reports which allow us to drill down to see the details of transactions. It's very helpful to read the memos of transactions while reviewing budget-to-actual reports. However, the drill down option is not available from all report configurations. A P&L by month does allow drill down to details while the same P&L organized by department does not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Martus solving and how is that benefiting you?

“Real-Time Data Sync Revolutionizes Financial Reporting”
What do you like best about LiveFlow?

The most impactful part of LiveFlow is the automated, real-time data sync. In the past, our financial reporting was always lagging. By the time we manually pulled reports from QuickBooks into Google Sheets, the data was already several days old. Especially when we're waiting for a third party team to reconcile our account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LiveFlow?

The initial setup of complex, custom-mapped reports can take a little bit of time. However, the LiveFlow support team is super responsive and helps bridge that gap quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LiveFlow solving and how is that benefiting you?

We struggled with accurate cash flow forecasting. Because our actuals were updated manually, our forecasts were often based on outdated assumptions.

LiveFlow solves this by keeping our actuals current. This has made forecasting so much easier because we can now see our real-time cash position and runway at a glance. It allows us to perform instant variance analysis and make strategic pivots based on what is happening now, rather than what happened last month. It has saved our finance team hours of spreadsheet gymnastics every week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Streamlined Reporting with Room for Improvement”
What do you like best about Workiva?

I use Workiva for SEC filing, reporting with W Data, and other minor entities. I like how Workiva keeps our version control in check and allows for commenting and workflow on shared documents. It also enables us to conduct SOX testing, perform markups, and handle sample selections and requests efficiently. I'm glad we did the initial setup ourselves because it was very educational, which made us more familiar with the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workiva?

Some areas that can be improved are markups, uploading support for audit and SOX testing. The sampling tool isn't as useful as I would like it to be, plus the request section and attaching things to spreadsheets can be a little finicky. The initial setup took much longer than I thought because we did it on our own without paying for a catered experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Intuitive GRC Platform with Unmatched Support and Fast Deployment”
What do you like best about Complyance?

The platform is far more intuitive than past tools I’ve used, such as Archer or Prevalent. Uploading our organizational data and the overall deployment led by the Complyance team were superior to any platform I’ve worked with previously. The Complyance team is meticulous and genuinely supportive; the way they developed our environment, along with the pace of deployment, meant the entire effort took only a few months from start to finish.

Their ongoing support, regular meetings, and backend services have been unmatched in my 50 years of IT deployments. On top of that, the Complyance team’s friendly, competent approach and diverse skill set helped ensure a smooth migration to this GRC solution.

The features and capabilities, along with the incorporation of AI, are a real selling point. “Essential ERM: Intuitive, Interconnected Risk Management Made Easy”
What do you like best about Essential ERM?

An automated must-have tool for Risk & Compliance managers to obtain a clear view of their risks universe and mitigating controls (whether existing or proposed).

I found the Essential ERM interface intuitive and user friendly to navigate through. Risks were easy to set up and link with others, creating a principal risk, sub-risks, and a risk scenario hierarchy. There was no need to build complex procedures and coding.

I like the connection between objectives, risks, causes, consequences, mitigation strategies, mitigating actions, key risk indicators (KRIs), sub-risks, and more. This interconnected approach provides a comprehensive view of risk management, which is essential for ensuring nothing slips through the cracks, in this fast paced world that we now operate in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Essential ERM?

Not being able to upload documents to support risk or control reviews. A dedicated area for outstanding action items from all reviews for a company or a portfolio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Essential ERM solving and how is that benefiting you?

We needed a "one stop" software that helps us to track the "essential" components of our ERM program, while maintaining a simple and easy to use platform.

Essential ERM from Tracker networks did that while staying under our budget. The development team is also very responsive and will assist with solving problems once it is verified as a true need.
