“Time-Saving SEC Reporting with Collaboration, Needs UI & Pricing Tweaks”
What do you like best about Workiva?

I really appreciate Workiva's collaboration features. These features are exceptional because they allow multiple people to work on the same document simultaneously without disrupting each other's workflow, which significantly enhances teamwork and productivity. Additionally, the audio track feature is another aspect I enjoy, as it combines with the collaboration tools to provide complete control and visibility over projects. This ensures that we can efficiently manage our tasks while maintaining clear communication and oversight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workiva?

{"I find the user interface could be improved. It should be more intuitive, similar to how Google Docs operates, where you don't need to click in and out of various windows to edit text.","The pricing model needs consideration. I believe it is currently not as acceptable as it could be, impacting my likelihood to fully endorse the product.","The initial setup of Workiva was not easy. It required a considerable investment of time, and I needed an experienced consultant to assist with the process."} Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Workiva solving and how is that benefiting you?

Workiva reduces error risks and saves time spent on manual reconciliation, enhancing SEC reporting and financial quality assurance. Its collaboration feature enables multiple users to work simultaneously, maintaining control and visibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“User-Friendly with Room for Integration Improvement”
What do you like best about Anaplan?

I like how Anaplan allows many users to contribute, review, and perform analysis planning and scenario analysis. It's also fun to use and compared to other tools for similar applications, it's easier to be trained on. You don't need to know coding at all because it's more formula-based with drag-and-drop and clicking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anaplan?

I believe that integration is still a challenging area, even if there is now a new tool called ADO, which is supposed to help a lot. However, these and other tools come at an extra cost, so they are not available for all customers. More work is needed to enable seamless integration with many systems. Also, another relevant point is the ability to customize the outputs with more freedom, particularly the dashboarding for end users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Anaplan solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Anaplan to collect data from all divisions, globally, enrich it, and project into the future. It allows many users to contribute, review, and perform analysis and scenario planning effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Vena - An Extremely Versatile Finance Tool”
What do you like best about Vena?

Vena centers its functionality around Excel, but all your data is securely stored in the cloud rather than within the spreadsheets themselves. Together with excel flags, there is potential to build reports that does exactly what you intend to show. The ability to dynamically expand within models, reports, and templates greatly simplifies the work for those responsible for maintaining them. The cascade feature of reports dynamically runs the report in slices without having to select the slices manually, saving a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vena?

After using Vena for a few years, we have found that most of the challenges we face are related to template automation and ensuring that Mac users can effectively use the platform. We continue to discourage users to access Vena from Mac environment and strictly direct our users to access Vena from Windows environment. It works very well with MS Office, but does not have much integration for GSuite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?

We began using Vena for our extensively detailed recurring revenue model. We have changed major stakeholders and Vena had kept up with the evolving changes requested by different managers. Some of the model changes are rather complex, so time and expert help is needed. The fact that the requested changes can be incorporated makes it a versatile tool. Excel alone cannot handle the complexity of our model. We have expanded our usage to Operating Expense planning and Workforce planning. Vena can handle vendor level forecasting and reporting, allowing insight and detail as to what the key drivers of spend are. Reports can be created with dynamic multidimensional mapping that expands effortlessly to show the slices of data you want to see. The cascade feature of reports allows for much time saved. Overall, Vena is a very powerful reporting tool with a lot of potential to do even more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Instant QuickBooks Sync Transforms Reporting Workflow”
What do you like best about LiveFlow?

The instant connection that LiveFlow creates between Quickbooks and a google sheet have been so valuable to our team. Our ability to make adjustments in Quickbooks and immediately refresh the reports to show the change is amazing. It helps us input feedback immediately during a call as we review reports, saves from miscommunication or lack of follow up from the old manual report method. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LiveFlow?

The one difficulty about documents that auto refresh is that the version history becomes nearly impossible to navigate. LiveFlow did help this significantly by offering the option to refresh daily rather than just hourly. However, even daily it can become difficult to find a prior version after enough time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LiveFlow solving and how is that benefiting you?

LiveFlow saves us a ton of time each month during financial close by automatically updating our end use reports rather than having to manually download and input the updated numbers. It enhances our ability to create useful reporting for decision makers. It allows for live updates while reviewing reports - if someone provides feedback on an update needed we can do it in Quickbooks and refresh the report during the meeting rather than have to come back to it later after downloading reports and manually updating the spreadsheet. It also saves our financial team time by reducing the questions asked because the decision maker / reviewer can have direct access to information that updates daily (if not more frequently) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Effortless Implementation and Seamless Excel Integration”
What do you like best about Datarails?

We are currently in training mode in our data rails journey. The ease of use and implementation are big stand outs for me. Along with the seamless integration into and with Excel. With a working understanding of Access, Pivot Tables and other more advanced Excel data calculations, the potential of Data Rails to assist us in delivering accurate and end user focused solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

There is an element of coding (and understanding the coding logic & infrastructure) with which I need to familiarize me with. This is to be expected and it's not really a "dislike" per se but it is - initially - a challenge. I also would prefer to NOT be the person controlling the mouse during training as I find myself clicking to keep the sessions going rather than taking notes, minor but noteworthy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have an antiquated accounting system (MIP) and a very static, excel based financial reporting system. So, Datarails is changing that by making it more dynamic and interactive. It is also giving us an insight into future reporting that is not bound my the above limits and allowing for more creative thinking about how do and how we will posit future financials for our organization. What do you like best about Scrut Automation?

This is truly one of the best tools if you work in the banking sector or any other field where certifications, compliance, security, data management, and policies are crucial. It is very easy to use and implement, and connecting your organisation's resources is straightforward. Their support is excellent—they guide you through every phase of the audit process. If you have multiple accounts, such as cloud services or code repositories, you can connect them all seamlessly. You can also create an evidence history according to your requirements. They provide templates for nearly every policy or type of evidence you might need. Additionally, they continuously scan every attached resource. They also schedule dry run and verify you evidences too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scrut Automation?

Sometimes, running certain tests manually can take a long time to complete. Additionally, after a test finishes, I receive two separate emails—one indicating a failure and another confirming completion. This can be a bit confusing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Scrut Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?

What problems is OneStream - Unified EPM solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have a few hundred entities globally so OneStream is used to capture all the Actuals data from across a number of ERP systems in a unified way. “Achieved SOC2 with Sprinto”
What do you like best about Sprinto?

The structured approach to the audit process was fantastic. Sprinto replaces chaos with a clear roadmap. The ability to create a separate view for the auditor so they could access evidence directly without us acting as the middleman was a huge time saver. Ritik was also incredibly responsive whenever we hit a roadblock. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprinto?

Honestly, I haven't encountered any major roadblocks. If I had to pick something, I’d say the sheer number of features and policies was slightly overwhelming during the first week of onboarding. However, the customer success team helped us navigate it quickly, and now it runs on autopilot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Sprinto solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are solving the problem of 'continuous compliance.' Rather than scrambling once a year for an audit, Sprinto keeps us in a state of constant readiness. It alerts us immediately if a laptop is out of compliance or a server setting is changed, allowing us to fix security gaps in real-time rather than finding out about them during the audit window. “Centralized Data and Easy Automation Make Planful a Standout”
What do you like best about Planful?

The thing I like most about planful is that it provides a platform to centralize and store data from many different sources. It also has a n ease of use when I need to access and manipulate that data which makes it easy to share and teach new users. I also like planful templates. They provide the ability to automate some of our more structured budget and forecast processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Planful?

At the moment we are having an issue with the amount of time it takes planful to process data and run through template processing. It is making it difficult to update our forecast/budgets in a timely manner as well as making the process to update and make changes long and arduous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?

The option to build automated budgeting and forecasting processes using templates has helped us reduce the number of extra Excel files required to update our models. It also enables us to consolidate our data in a single location, making it easier to compare various metrics within the same platform and spot any errors in our modeling. “Aleph Delivers Seamless Reporting and Support - Highly recommend!”
What do you like best about Aleph?

Aleph is an incredible tool that surfaces not only financial data, but also your other software system's data in a single place. I am using Aleph on a daily basis to answer ad hoc questions & requests to other key stakeholders on my team. We are using Aleph to build a holistic reporting environment and the dashboarding capabilities have really reduced the time it takes to generate our monthly reporting packages.

The purchase experience was incredibly smooth. We ran an integration with Aleph out of our ERP as part of the demo process - and despite being skeptical - they were able to deliver and I was impressed before purchase. Post-purchase, there was no additional implementation needed, it ran great out of the box. What's more, Aleph offers incredible customer support - they feel like trusted advisors and are always there to tackle any question I have related to FP&A. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aleph?

Aleph is super strong in spreadsheets and actuals. I wish there were some ways to create standard objects in the dashboards based on the data that I'm integrating into Aleph. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Aleph solving and how is that benefiting you?

Aleph helps me answer a ton of ad hoc analyses and requests. It's helped me "publish" financial data to the rest of my organization and gives me a destination to serve as the single source of truth of financial data. My entire accounting team is using Aleph as well. We have saved a ton of time on monthly reporting packages and automated dashboards have saved a ton of time as well. “Empowers Finance Teams with Real-Time Insights and AI-Driven Productivity”
What do you like best about Drivetrain?

Drivetrain is the FP&A solution that actually empowers finance professionals. The platform offers comprehensive financial management, encompassing budgeting and forecasting, as well as financial planning and analysis (FP&A). The platform connects directly to our source systems, which means we spend far less time pulling data and more time analyzing it. I also appreciate the real-time dashboards and reporting, as well as the ability to quickly run what-if scenarios across budget, forecast, headcount, cash flow, and revenue planning. The AI features (e.g., natural language analysis, model generation, anomaly detection, and “plain English” data transformations) are a significant productivity boost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Drivetrain?

One aspect I find lacking in Drivetrain is the limited ability to customize report branding during export. For instance, it's not possible to add our company logo to the report's cover page. I also wish there were more options for global color customization—specifically, the option to set a company color palette or brand theme so that all charts would automatically use those colors by default. Consistent brand colors are crucial for many organizations, not only for maintaining a professional appearance but also to avoid resembling competitors too closely. Greater centralized control over colors and styling would significantly enhance the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Drivetrain solving and how is that benefiting you?

This tool replaces the need for fragile, spreadsheet-based planning by automating data consolidation and ensuring that reports and forecasts remain current through integrations. As a result, it enhances visibility into budget versus actuals, accelerates forecasting and scenario planning, and enables us to align cross-functional stakeholders around a single source of truth. Ultimately, this leads to faster planning cycles, quicker decision-making, and greater confidence in the numbers, since models and dashboards update automatically as the underlying data changes. “Delivering business value through an intuitive interface”
What do you like best about Apliqo?

Apliqo is built from its foundations with the end user experience in mind. It offers an intuitive interface, place on top of any type of business problem for planning and reporting.

It can integrate Excel input in the same front end, so end users can decide if they want to prepare data outside of the web-front end and load their results, or work directly in the tool. This combination allows users the freedom they need and desire to work in a way that suits them best.

The ideas behind the applications are always aimed towards ease of maintenance, a uniform look and feel and a do-it-yourself approach where IT involvement is limited to a minimum and business users can be autonoumous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Apliqo?

It is a not a drag-and-drop tool for do it yourself dashboarding. But it is also not intended to be this. The target of Apliqo is rolling out applications to a group of end users that can get going without the need for extensive trainings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?

We mainly use Apliqo (both UX and FPM) for internal reporting. We use it for our day-to-day timesheets, our (financial) month end close, dashboarding and reporting.

The operational model is tracking our projects on a day-to-day basis, provinding an overview of budgets-to-date, time spent (hours/days), expenses tracking. Our users are entering information on a daily basis.

For the financial closing we are currently utilising the P&L/Balance sheet reporting layer across our region, based on input from various countries, coming from different data sources (accounting systems).

Everything gets harmonized through a common mapping to a uniform group layer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Streamlined software for quick ERM”
What do you like best about Essential ERM?

A must-have tool for risk managers to obtain a clear view of their risks.

I found their interface intuitive to navigate through. Risks were easy to set up and link with others, creating a principal risk and risk scenario hierarchy. There was no need to build complex procedures and coding.

On rare occasions I was stuck, their support team was prompt in solving the issue.

“Compliance without the usual headaches”
What do you like best about Complyance?

I like that the platform makes compliance feel manageable. It guides you through the steps, shows you where gaps exist, and makes it obvious what’s already covered. The automation features are especially useful — they save hours of repetitive work and reduce the risk of missing something important. It feels like a system designed for real users, not just for auditors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Complyance?

Nothing significant comes to mind. Sometimes the notifications can feel a little persistent if deadlines are close, but in practice that’s a good thing because it prevents anything from slipping through the cracks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Complyance solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before, compliance work was fragmented and often left until the last minute. Now, it’s an ongoing process that feels much more under control. The software was easy to implement with good documentation. I use the software every month for producing client management accounts from Xero and every 1/2 year for producing consolidated management accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is currently no forecasting capability within Joiin. The presentation capabilities with regards to branding are currently not fully there with regards to customising cover sheets.

The automatic adjustments with regards to currency translation differences need to be filtered to enable the report to look more presentable.

“Planning Analytics reviews of Eric Dalton”
What do you like best about IBM Planning Analytics?

The speed and clarity. I can design assumptions, forecast workloads and model production impacts in minutes. Instead of guessing what a design change will do to cost or timing, I can show the results instantly. It makes engineering decisions far less emotional and far more grounded in actualo numbers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Planning Analytics?

The interface still feels a bit rigid, especially for new sers. It's powerful once you understand the workflow, but the learning curve is real and when models get big, you can feel the weight, not a dealbreaker, just something you plan around. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Planning Analytics solving and how is that benefiting you?

It solves the engineering decisions without operational contex problem, something that plagues almost every design team. Planning Analytics lets me forecast production timelines, calculate cost impacts instantly, understand resource needs, compare scenarios side by side and prevent design creep from sinking margins. The benefit is simple smarter decisions made earlier, fewer surprises later. It keeps engineering aligned with reality which is exactly where it needs to be. “Cutting Edge Strategic Finance Platform for Lean Finance Teams”
What do you like best about Abacum?

Abacum has tremendous flexibility in terms of its data and analysis capabilities. The ability to create custom metrics and data transformations directly in the data set has allowed us to automate our leadership team's complex pipeline requirements. We previously tried to build our custom pipeline reporting metrics directly in Salesforce (Tableau) and Mosaic but were unable to do so. Abacum releases product enhancements faster than any software platform I have ever seen - it is not uncommon for them to release one or two product updates every week - and offers more integrations to modern technology tools than its competitors. We have completed overhauled our Finance tech stack over the past year, including migrating our ERP, and chose Abacum partly based on its integration with Rillet. Finally, Abacum's Excel connector is one-of-kind among strategic finance platforms and allows teams to maintain hybrid workflows in both Excel and Abacum. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Abacum?

We have experienced a few bugs in the tables and reporting (e.g., percentage variances for individual line items adding up rather than calculating at the total level). These bugs are usually either quickly resolved or the technical support team has provided a work around. We intended to use the Paylocity integration but have been unable to due the fact that Abacum's integration partner doesn't pull in some of the key fields that we use (we also had a similar issue with Mosaic). The Abacum team partially made up for this by allowing us to substitute our Paylocity integration for the Excel connector. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Abacum solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Abacum for reporting (pipeline and operating expense), workforce planning, and general budgeting and forecasting. The system helps us automate manual processes that were previously done in Excel and has enabled new valued-added reporting and analysis that wasn't possible in our previous strategic finance platform. “The C1Risk Platform has helped streamline our GRC processes and procedures.”
What do you like best about C1Risk?

Each year when completing our audit cycles, we know our evidence is valid, where to find it, and that it is linked to the right controls. As a law firm, this is helpful because we are audited not only to maintain our certifications, but by our clients to maintain their business. The C1Risk platform helps us to stay organized and has taken so much overhead off the process of all these audits because we are able to use it for to produce the needed evidence for every audit situation. The product also continues to grow with our needs year over year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about C1Risk?

There is very little to dislike about the product. The only thing I have found is minor UI preferences such as column sizing and such, but it isn’t anything that truly changes the way the product works Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is C1Risk solving and how is that benefiting you?

C1Risk helped us take a very manual process of maintaining our ISO/IEC 27001 certification evidence and streamline that process. We then adapted that process and expanded it to our client audits and our review of our client requirements. The C1Risk platform allowed us to take processes that required many hours of work for several people and cut it down to a repeatable and automated process that runs for us and allows us to oversee it and now find ourselves ahead of our schedule instead of running behind or being frantic when audit time came around. We are confident in our evidence and no longer have to cut corners to make our deadlines because the administrative work has been reduced so much. We are able to go into audits fully prepared, and collect the complete collection of evidence for the year, which helps with all client audits as well throughout the year so we are fully prepared for anything requested of the security team at all times. Acterys solves several critical problems in corporate finance, performance management, and analytics by automating, centralizing, and enhancing planning, reporting, and data integration.

Main Problems Acterys Solves

Problem: Budgeting and forecasting are often done in Excel, shared via email, leading to errors, version control issues, and inefficiency.

Acterys Solution: Centralized, database-driven planning and write-back directly in Excel and Power BI, with real-time collaboration, version control, and workflows.

Problem: Companies have data scattered across ERPs, CRMs, and other systems, making reporting and consolidation slow and error-prone.

Problem: Multi-entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and currency translation are done manually and take weeks.
