## Apliqo Reviews
  ### 1. Delivering business value through an intuitive interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave H. | IBM Business Partner specialized in Cognos TM1, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Apliqo is built from its foundations with the end user experience in mind. It offers an intuitive interface, place on top of any type of business problem for planning and reporting.

It can integrate Excel input in the same front end, so end users can decide if they want to prepare data outside of the web-front end and load their results, or work directly in the tool. This combination allows users the freedom they need and desire to work in a way that suits them best.

The ideas behind the applications are always aimed towards ease of maintenance, a uniform look and feel and a do-it-yourself approach where IT involvement is limited to a minimum and business users can be autonoumous.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

It is a not a drag-and-drop tool for do it yourself dashboarding. But it is also not intended to be this. The target of Apliqo is rolling out applications to a group of end users that can get going without the need for extensive trainings.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mainly use Apliqo (both UX and FPM) for internal reporting. We use it for our day-to-day timesheets, our (financial) month end close, dashboarding and reporting.

The operational model is tracking our projects on a day-to-day basis, provinding an overview of budgets-to-date, time spent (hours/days), expenses tracking. Our users are entering information on a daily basis.

For the financial closing we are currently utilising the P&L/Balance sheet reporting layer across our region, based on input from various countries, coming from different data sources (accounting systems).

Everything gets harmonized through a common mapping to a uniform group layer.

  ### 2. Intuitive Frontend for Planning Analytics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Van Zyl B. | Senior Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Apliqo UX is an amazing frontend when needing to roll out a planning, reporting and analytics model that was developed within Planning Analytics/TM1. It has some amazing features that the standard out-of-the-box application from IBM does not meet. With regular updates, amazing customer support, well designed additional features, and a focus on an application driven by user-experience, it is a MUST HAVE.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

It can be somewhat daunting moving from a Excel based view of interacting with Planning Analytics, to Apliqo UX. BUT this upskilling is totally worth it in the long run as your scripting and configuration skills become more and more.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apliqo UX is great at taking the user on an application driven journey with various ways of representing financial data that is sourced from Planning Analytics. Majority of the standard features of Planning Analytics is available within Apliqo UX (like drilling, comments, spreading, calcualtion tracing, etc.), but it is the visually rich graphs that makes a massive difference when comparing UX to any other frontend.

  ### 3. Take Your Planning, Reporting, and Decision-Making Application to the Next Level

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ulas B. | Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Great use of industry best practices.
Business and process-oriented application management style
Ability to implement true enterprise-grade applications with low-effort maintenance
Flexibility to tailor the application to your specific needs
Easy to use the application therefore low risk of user adoption

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

While the flexibility to tailor Apliqo to your specific needs is a powerful advantage, it can indeed become a lengthy and complex process if not managed properly. The wide range of customization options and numerous ways to approach tasks can make it easy to lose focus or extend timelines.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been implementing Apliqo as a consultant to a wide range of customers for more than 8 years.
I value the ease of implementation of advanced complex albeit easy-to-use applications. Most importantly the value Apliqo adds to the organizations with the ability to efficiently analyze, plan, and decide.

  ### 4. Apliqo Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed A. | PHD Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Apliqo includes best-practice budgeting, forecasting, and consolidation templates, which reduces implementation time.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

Even if the front end is easy to use, backend setup is still technical or requires a specialist

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By centralizing planning, reporting, and forecasting, Apliqo has enabled us to abandon labor-intensive, error-prone Excel methods. It saves time, increases accuracy, and facilitates group projects and quick, fact-based decision-making.

  ### 5. My Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Apliqo is the best Frontend tool I have used for Planning Analytics (TM1). It is very intuitive and easy to use. But also has the depth and flexibility you would like it to have, the deeper you go and the more experienced you accumulate.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

Formatting multiple columns in the same format might be somewhat tedious in my experience so far.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves a lot of issues I personally had with PAWs Frontend. Books are very inconsistent and is a hassle to work with multiple people at once. Widgets, Charts, tables etc. are very rigid and not as flexible and pretty as in Apliqo. It is more fun to work with and build from a power users and consultants perspective.

  ### 6. Elevating TM1 Implementations with Advanced Integration and Usability

  ### 7. A true corporate front end for Planning Analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jean-Noel G. | Senior Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Apliqo UX allows you to build corporate level front end for your TM1/Planning Analytics applications.

It also also provide you with great interactions possibilities (Having links and tool tip within your report, allowing you to access supporting information...) and great visualisation options.

Like TM1, Apliqo UX allows you perform data entry in your application and see in real time the impact of your assumptions.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

There is so many options that it can seem a bit daunting to start. Thanks fully there is many demo asset highlighting the options.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is unifying TM1/Planing Analytics interface and allow you to simply build great applications.

The variety of options allow great flexibility and sophistication.

Special mention to the wizard screens which allow you to build guided application for your users. They don't even need to know the concept of dimensions and cubes.

  ### 8. Transformed our approach to reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David W. | Senior Business Intelligence Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Ease of development. Built-in features to enhance user experience and interrogate data. Seamless integration with existing TM1 servers. Prompt software support and a growing community of contributors.
Our users have embraced UX to the point where it has become the go-to solution for their daily reporting needs.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

Response times for large grids of string data can be slow. Performance is also impacted when screen sharing a UX screen over a video call.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has simplified our approach to reporting. Leveraging on native UX functionality has allowed us to reduce the number of individual reports. This speeds up development and maintenance time.

  ### 9. Polished and flexible

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

One of the standout features of Apliqo UX is its flexibility. Users have full control over their UI environment, enabling tailored experiences that cater to individual or corporate needs. This adaptability allows for personalized layouts, images, and color schemes, ensuring that the software aligns perfectly with user or corporate preferences.
The layout is intuitively designed, resembling the flow of a book, guiding users through a step-by-step process logically. This enhances the overall user experience while allowing for freedom of movement in any direction, ensuring that users are never restricted.
For those familiar with TM1 Cube Viewers, developing widgets in Apliqo UX is incredibly straightforward. The intuitive design facilitates easy creation and customization of widgets.
Navigating through the applications is equally logical and seamless. Each section flows naturally into the next, akin to reading a book.
The responsiveness to the TM1 environment is truly impressive. Apliqo UX operates in real-time, allowing for immediate updates and interactions. This capability is crucial, as it enables write-back to TM1 directly within the software while instantly reflecting any changes made to the data in TM1 outside of Apliqo UX.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

While Apliqo UX offers many strengths, there are a few areas that could pose challenges for Developers, particularly those who may not have a technical background.

Knowledge of TM1 Required. As a developer is that users need a solid understanding of TM1 to fully leverage the software’s capabilities.
A working knowledge of MDX (Multidimensional Expressions) wold be needed for advanced widgets. Developers who are not aware or know MDX may find it difficult to create the widgets that they desire.
Some familiarity with CSS and JSON is necessary for customizing the UI to fit specific needs. While the software is designed to be user-friendly, those without some knowledge may struggle to make desired adjustments to the layout and design.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid Development and visualisation, deployed through web browser based.
Users can access the application from anywhere without needing to install software.
Rich application-layer visualisation without coding, provides a more engaging and interactive experience.

  ### 10. Apliqo unlocks the ability of IBM Planning Analytics to become a true application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aidan Y. | Managing Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

1. Easy to learn, ease of use.
2. Lots of flexible features can deal with complex use cases and requirements.
3. It's born to help TM1 consultants to transform the modeling data into visual insights and online colaboration workflow processes.
4. Based on the above three points, it's way easy and efficient to implement in you project, especially where there is a time pressure.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

1. There are too many features hiding in many different places. Sometimes you need time to find it and test it.
2. There is also performance issues when you try to show a big table. Hopefully it seems they are working on paging and lazy-loading.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apliqo UX rich features can deal with complex report customization requirements, with the flexibility to manipulate CSS and insert widgets.

  ### 11. True fusion of planning and reporting / analytics!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lingo W. | General Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Intutitive UI provide power user great capablity to build both planning template / application and analytics dashboard, which is perfectly helping the transition from the traditional FP&A to a more integrated process.

Directly access to IBM PA/TM1 cube data, be able to use the native view, subset, dimension, attributes, without staging layer for data visualization and presetation.

Quick implemenation with lots of built-in templates, as well as great level of flexibility to further customize the look and feel for a better user experience. This is great for a freqent-use-review-dashboard or analytics templates. Particulary the wizzard features for business story-telling.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

There is a bit learning curve for dashboard / applicaiton build, if lots of cutomized features / functions are required. but the basic / standard template can be done as easy as drag-and-drop.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mainly use Apliqo UX as our front-end applicaiotn on the top of the IBM PA/TM1 model, for internal operational planning, and reporting, e.g. month-end process, timesheet and holiday managment.

We also use Apliqo at group level for finanicial reporting and planning, which is fully integrated with our accouting systyem.

  ### 12. Amazing extension of Planning Analytics models

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Markus F. | TM1 Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Apliqo provides pre-built solutions as well as a modern web-based front-end for IBM Planning Analytics models. Both of these products meet typical requirements and needs of Planning Analytics users. In Apliqo UX (front-end solution) you can build dashboards to explore, analyse and modify data from your underlying model. It offers a wide range of features such as drilling, cross-drilling, calculations etc. to get insights that are otherwise hidden in the vast amount of data. If you want to guide your users through specific steps, you can use a specific type of dashboard that helps users to perform certain tasks in the correct order. It is quite easy to implement dashboards and get started with Apliqo UX. The setup with your Planning Analytics model is a one-time task. I am using Apliqo UX on a daily basis. The pre-built solutions from Apliqo speed up the development of Planning Analytics models tremendously as they provide a framework which covers typical structures required to build and run an integrated financial model.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

The vast amount of configuration options in Apliqo UX can be a little intimidating at first, especially for non-technical users who want to create their own dashboards.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The pre-built solutions from Apliqo provide a base model which includes various features typically needed to run an integrated financial model. Therefore it speeds up development quite a bit. Also it is built using a technical best-practice approach, leading to good performance, maintainability and scaleability. Apliqo UX helps users to easily navigate through their large amounts of data in a very modern and sophisticated visual design.

  ### 13. User-Friendly Interface for FP&A people

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alice Y. | Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Apliqo offers highly customizable dashboards tailored to meet specific business needs. Users can build dynamic dashboards to visualize and interact with data in real time, whether it's financial reports, KPIs, or budgeting data. The interactive dashboards make it easy to drill down into granular details. This is particularly useful for users who want to track performance or monitor variances without having to switch between different tools.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

Although Apliqo UX is designed to be intuitive, users who are new to IBM Planning Analytics or TM1 might find it challenging to get accustomed to the platform. Advanced users may adapt quickly, but less experienced users may require a little bit of initial training, particularly for navigating complex multi-dimensional cubes and setting up customized workflows.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem: Complex and Time-Consuming Financial Planning Processes.
Apliqo UX simplifies financial planning by centralizing all data into a single platform integrated with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1). It allows users to build dynamic financial models, create budgets, and forecast scenarios in real-time with data directly pulled from TM1 cubes. The interface is user-friendly, even for non-technical users, reducing the need for multiple systems or complicated spreadsheets.

  ### 14. Awesome Frontend for TM1

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tat Seng W. | Practice Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Apliqo provides a very intuative user experience for users using TM1, it allows users to have a guided planning/reporting experience.

For developers/modelers, it is much fater to build analytical layouts comparing to TM1Web/PAW, we can build an application out with 1/3 of the time, thanks to all the guided widgets, the provided samples, the flexibility to do custom formatting, etc, if we need to do similar charting/dashboarding on TM1Web/PAW, I would need a lot of workaround or sometimes not even possible, however, Apliqo provides us a platform that can do almost how we want to shape the application with less time.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

It does require some TM1 experience, as the widgets for heavily relying on MDX, therefore prior experience on TM1 is a must.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Similar to TM1, almost any business analytics / budgeting / forecasting / reporting applications can be done on top of Apliqo.

What's really help me when using Apliqo is that all the widgets are very self-explanatory, therefore reduced a lot of documentation effort, maintenance effort, end users with little or no TM1 experience can get their hands on the application very quickly and easily.

  ### 15. Performance driven user experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vitalij R. | Senior Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

everybody can uses Apliqo, it doesn't matter, what level of knowledge you have.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

there are lots of functions and possibilities what you can do with Apliqo and the issue is maybe that there are a lot of them, so you have to dive in to be in the position to use them all!

However, if we find sth, we can give a feedback and get a quick response!

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

to bring TM1 to lots of people.
The business has invested lots of money into Planning Analytics and you can use Apliqo as the frontend for this.

  ### 16. Apliqo UX: Makes it easy to built Planning & Reporting applications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin D. | Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

I'm using Apliqo UX daily to build applications for clients mostly in the Supply Chain Management area. Their general impression is that the applications are easy to work with and have a modern look & feel.

Personally, I've used other tools to build front-end applications in the past, but I've always preferred back-end development. I've really only started to like building front-end applications once I started working with Apliqo UX. That's because it takes away a lot of the meaningless effort you'd typically put into front-end development.

The general low code approach allows me to build simple mock ups in 5 to 10 minutes. Examples that make implementation super easy are the drag & drop functionality, the amount of features that are configured through simple drop downs and selections, and the out of the box widget types (all kinds of charts, tables, kpi displays etc).

When things get serious, Apliqo UX enables me to customize applications efficiently. I think one of the core advantages of working with Apliqo UX is the ease of implementation regardless of requirements being simple or more complex and that is exactly what I need from a UX application to deliver solutions to my clients within their budget.

When we do hit the limits of the application or my own knowledge about the solution, the Apliqo UX team usually replies quickly with a solution, or a fix is already on the shortterm roadmap.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

If you really want to go deep with customization, there may be limited documentation. Though typically this means there is a better solution within Apliqo UX for your problem.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are native features in the tool that reduce the implementation efforts required to build applications for my clients. That means less mundane work and more time for exciting and value adding aspects of our projects.

  ### 17. Bringing IBM Planning Analytics to the next level

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maurycy M. | TM1 Practice Manager DACH, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Apliqo is a company that is focused on customer success. The team is able to implement customer's new feature requests within days!

They are always ready to help with the implementation, answer questions or fix any potential bugs.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

The team is still focusing mostly on IBM Planning Analytics and SQL DB sources. I hope they will open their products for other DBs

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been using Apliqo UX for more than 7 years and have built tons of customer models. I value the ease of use of Apliqo UX for all types of users - consultants, internal developers, powerusers and normal users. The tool allows us to build enterprise-wide web-based applications.

  ### 18. Great UI and Dashboarding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

There are various types of dashboards we can utilise when building visualisation, and UI is great, like in wizard type apps, there is a step bar and sub-step bar to visualise the whole business process. Also, it doesn't take much time as compared to PAW/TM1Web when building the dashboards and UI.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

For special requests that the current options of dashboard types might not meet, we will need customisation with the help of my infra team.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While building a UI, I used to spend much time in documentation showing the steps the users should follow and explaning each step. However, on this product, firstly with wizard type apps I can already show the steps sequence, and secondly with the tooltip feature I can add information to each step or even each dashboard/table what it is about.

  ### 19. The UX components really is the best tool to represent our intelligent data models

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon L. | Practice Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

The kit out of the box are easy to use, including drag and drop features that requires little to no training. The documentation online does a good job at showing myself how to install and setup the components, which are often neglected by products out there.
Best thing is that it has the capability to leverage scripts and modern components to handle edge cases that exists in real world business problems, which many of its compatitors fails to address, or mention the limitations to address these edge cases.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

I have not seen many Apliqo merchandise.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handing the edge cases of the business solution that alternatives have difficult delivering. Also allows the business to use an model user interface to compliment their business process, rather than redeisgning their business process to work within the limitations of the the tools.

  ### 20. Financial Consolidation and Management Analysis and Planning for Office of Finance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Ready-made business model for financial consolidation and management analysis and planning.
Ease of Use, Ease of Implementation, Ease of Integration, FP&A Best Practices, Integrated Planning Model, Financial and Operational Analysis and Planning, User Experience, State of the Art Frontend

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

During the introduction, the project participants believed that they could use Apliqo without any training effort. But as with any other software, you need a certain amount of training, time and routine to realise the benefits. In this phase, Apliqo's many training options were a great advantage and enabled the team to be productive very quickly.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automated Data Integration from diffeent sources.
Configuration of existing Apliqo Consolidation Layer to perform automated year end audits
Configuration of existing Apliqo Analysis Layer to perform automated monthly management reviews
Configuration of existing Apliqo Plan Layer to perform various projections like budget, end of year forecast, rolling forecast and long term planning
The availablility of data from different sources (finance, sales, hr, marketing) break trough the department silos and facilitates a collaborative analysis and planning enviroment

  ### 21. Powerful and user-friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

What I like best is the user-friendly interface, which is very easy to use. The operation is intuitive, and the seamless integration with IBM Planning Analytics ensures smooth usage. I particularly appreciate the ability to customize dashboards and create reports in real-time. The support is always reliable, quickly accessible for inquiries, and open to constructive feedback.

**What do you dislike about Apliqo?**

The tool already covers many functions, yet additional features or small optimizations could further perfect the workflow.

**What problems is Apliqo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The entire analysis and reporting process can be significantly accelerated by Apliqo. A major advantage for me is also the flexibility.

  ### 22. Apliqo UX - Developers Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charl S. | Senior Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Apliqo?**

Most clients we partner with come from an excel background. When thinking about a new planning/reporting tool they generally want and need the same kind of flexibility and usability that excel gives them, but in a modern front-end.
