Will add if experience changes. **What problems is Acterys solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a PE firm, we struggle with organizing data from our portfolio companies. Acterys allowed us to simplify the collection of key financial and operational data, giving us a crystal clear view of all our investments. Before Acterys, we used another SaaS planning tool that promised integrations with all our other systems. But, the integrations weren't as smooth as promised and we ended up manually moving most data in and out of different systems. We couldn't actually keep track of warning signs in our metrics...and we had just added yet another expensive SaaS tool to our budget. Whats worse is that our business was more complex than this SaaS too'ls out of the box system...so we needed to heavily customize it for our purpose. But what company isn't complex these days? We wasted so much time and money trying to make this tool work for us-but failed. After purchasing Acterys, our IT team brilliantly mandated that all portfolio companies use standardized, built for purpose apps to run their day-to-day operations. They now all use an Acterys built workforce planning app, inventory management app, and sales commission app. All of these roll up to our FP&A tool seamlessly. We no longer waste time gathering data from all our portfolio companies and can now easily spot trends and fix problems before they get worse. This has significantly helped us protect our investments and improve how we operate. Even though we initially bought Acterys to provide us with detailed and timely reports on all our portfolio companies to evaluate performance, we were shocked to learn that Acterys was able to build all the biz ops apps that feed those reports. This was a game changer. We were able to replace most of our portfolio company's pointed SaaS solutions with the apps built by Acterys, savings thousands a month. Now we have complete confidence in all the data's accuracy because Acterys built our portfolio company's operational systems that all roll into our single financial planning system. What we like best about Acterys is that it reduces our need for multiple, disconnected SaaS systems which were rarely used and super costly. We were able to combine our existing Microsoft tools into one integrated suite that meets all our needs. Acterys essentially let us "build our own PE suite" in less time and for a fraction of the cost. Acterys has become more than just a tool for us. They're now a business critical partner that helps us quickly instill operational excellence and success in every company we invest in. ### 3. You don’t have to jump through hoops to build solid models or pull together dashboards, everything kind of just clicks, especially if you’re already using Excel or Power BI. Acterys kinda just... fits in. we can edit reports and do writebacks inside Power BI which is crazy useful. no exporting, no extra steps. and using Excel directly in Power BI? didn’t even know that was possible but now we’re using it constantly. **What do you dislike about Acterys?** It did took a bit of getting used to in the beginning but once we figured it out, it's been smooth. everything stays in one place, which we love. The technology from Acterys together with the Power BI package it gave us an excellent environment for our current and future Planning process. The Modeller is an awesome tool to create and maintain data models in an easy way and without knowledge of SQL. Planning with the Acterys visuals is a great experience, and constantly new releases are bringing to the end user an experience even better. It's easy to implement and use and also you have a great customer support, I think we took the right decision going with Acterys. **What do you dislike about Acterys?** We found out that features were missing when we started working with Acterys, but they tried to cover them with new releases. Just to give an example, we missed an easy way to create comments with MATRIX gen 2 PBI visual. With one of the releases beginning of 2024 they covered this feature and that was incredibly good. They are trying to make the Planning experience every time a better experience. **What problems is Acterys solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allowed us to continue our path into "Cloudification" deleting the boundaries of old on-premises software. Inefficient data modeling and planning: Modeller is a user-friendly tool for building and maintaining data models. It allows us to track advancement of the projects, profitability, budgets, AP and AR. They are aggregating datas from a lot of different tools that we are using (QBO, time tracking, Microsoft Project, etc) in one place so we can compare datas and have a live and always updated view of where we stand. The implementation is very smooth and easy and they are answering questions/concerns in no time. It changes the daily operation of the company radically and we saved at least 10hrs/week of manual work. I can not recommend them enough, it's worth the investment. **What do you dislike about Acterys?** Honestly, nothing. When there came time for an urgent need to have the Gantt chart for an important meeting; The Acterys team worked around the clock to support our team to ensure we had it up and running in time. It was not an easy endevor based on the complexity of our system backend- but Acterys really showed up and helped work it all out in time. The controls around write-back could be improved as the software does not allow locking periods for editing from the main interface. Another small issue with the integration with Xero is that whenever a tracking code is renamed in Xero, Acterys creates a duplicate tracking code instead of renaming it. This might be fiddly to sort out as historic budgets remain coded to the old code and actuals could end up split between the two duplicated codes.
