What I like most is how easy it is to turn raw data into dashboards that are genuinely useful. Rather than digging through endless rows in Excel, I can build reports with charts, KPIs, and visuals that make it much easier to understand what’s happening.
I’ve mainly used it for reporting and dashboard creation, and I appreciate that it connects to different data sources without much effort. Once the data is set up, creating interactive reports feels straightforward, and sharing them with others is simple as well.
I also like the Copilot features Microsoft has introduced. They can generate report summaries, answer questions about the data, and even suggest visuals using natural language. I don’t rely on it for every report, but it definitely speeds up certain tasks and makes it easier to explore the data.
Overall, it’s one of the best tools I’ve used for reporting because it saves time and presents information in a way that’s easier for everyone to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I find Looker's LookML semantic model incredibly valuable because it allows users to use an intuitive drag and drop interface for reports without needing to worry about underlying SQL queries. I also like the advanced features such as liquid syntax, which provide flexibility for use cases like currency conversion or period over period analysis with dynamic lookup windows. It's also great that we could scale our embedded data product from 0 to 3500 users thanks to Looker's centralized governance and observability. The dashboarding experience being far easier to embed than to build ourselves is another aspect I appreciate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Making big data simple

I've been using Databricks as part of our data engineering workflow to build and maintain ETL pipelines, analyze large datasets, and support reporting requirements. One of the things I like most is that it brings data engineering, analytics, and notebooks into a single workspace. Instead of switching between multiple tools, I can write PySpark code, validate transformations, collaborate with teammates, and schedule jobs from the same platform. This has made day-to-day development more organized, especially when working on multiple data pipelines.
Another feature I rely on frequently is the notebook environment. It's convenient for developing and testing transformations before moving them into production. During development, I often use notebooks to inspect sample data, troubleshoot failed transformations, and validate business logic with SQL and PySpark. The ability to mix code, markdown documentation, and query results in one place also makes it easier for team members to understand the implementation during code reviews or knowledge transfer sessions.
I also appreciate the platform's scalability. Some of our data processing jobs involve millions of records, and Databricks handles distributed processing efficiently without requiring us to manage the underlying infrastructure directly. Features like cluster management, job scheduling, and integration with cloud storage reduce operational overhead. That said, cluster startup times can occasionally delay quick debugging sessions, and managing compute resources carefully is important to avoid unnecessary costs. Overall, Databricks has helped simplify large scale data processing while giving enough flexibility for both development and production workloads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I appreciate most about Kyvos semantic layer is how fast we can explore data across regions, products and time periods. You can move across different dimensions and drill into metrics without worrying about how the query is being handled in the background. Numbers stay consistent across reports. There’s less back-and-forth on definitions, which makes discussions more focused on insights rather than validating the data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I’ve been working with Domo for about a year and a half in my role as a Design Engineer. We switched over from Tableau because we were tired of the constant delays while waiting for the data team to prepare datasets, along with the refresh issues that kept breaking our dashboards. With Domo, I was able to connect our main sources, Mixpanel, Stripe, Postgres, and a couple of internal APIs, pretty quickly during the migration, and that alone was a big win for us. Ilum is a free data lakehouse platform designed for scalability, flexibility, and simplicity.
Also listed in AI Chatbots, Data Visualization, Data Governance, Big Data Analytics, Data Science and Machine Learning Platforms
What I appreciate most about ILUM is its Ease of Integration. The platform is built to be open and modular, allowing it to connect seamlessly with the tools we already rely on, such as Airflow, dbt, Jupyter, and various BI tools through JDBC. We didn't have to overhaul our existing workflows; ILUM integrated effortlessly, which meant less hassle during implementation and a much quicker realization of value—something I consider a major advantage.
Another standout aspect is the impressive range of features combined with how easy it is to use. Since ILUM is a unified platform, I can run SQL queries, review data lineage, and launch Spark jobs or notebooks all from a single interface, eliminating the need to constantly switch between different tools. Having that centralized control is incredibly convenient.
The process of implementing ILUM is both straightforward and nuanced, but for the most part, it's simple if you have the right infrastructure in place. Because ILUM is Kubernetes-native and deployed via Helm charts, if you already have a Kubernetes cluster set up, you can get the core components—Spark and the UI—up and running in less than five minutes using a basic Helm command.
Personally, I use ILUM as my main platform nearly every day in my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Also listed in Agentic Analytics, Data Science and Machine Learning Platforms, Embedded Business Intelligence, Python Integrated Development Environments (IDE)

What I like most about Hex is how it combines SQL, Python, visualizations, and interactive dashboards into a single collaborative workspace. It makes it easy to move from data exploration to sharing insights without switching between multiple tools. Seamless support for SQL and Python in the same notebook. Interactive dashboards and visualizations that are easy to build and share. Real-time collaboration, allowing teams to work together on analyses. Strong integration with cloud data warehouses and databases. Clean, modern interface that makes data exploration intuitive. For me, the most valuable feature is the ability to blend code with interactive reports. I can perform complex analyses using SQL or Python and then present the results in dashboards that stakeholders can explore without needing technical expertise. The biggest benefit is improved productivity. Hex reduces the friction between data analysis, visualization, and reporting, enabling faster collaboration and making it easier to turn raw data into actionable insights. Also listed in IoT Analytics Platforms, Predictive Analytics
We embed Knowi dashboards directly into our SaaS product, and the biggest win for us is that Knowi queries our datastores natively—MongoDB alongside our SQL databases—without forcing us to move anything into a proprietary warehouse first. There’s no ETL pipeline to build or babysit. Knowi connects straight to the raw datastores, and we can join and blend NoSQL and SQL data on the fly into a single dataset. That alone eliminated an entire category of engineering work we used to do just to get data “BI-ready.”
The semantic layer is what ties everything together: we define our datasets once, and every dashboard, report, and natural-language question resolves against the same definitions. As a result, our customers see consistent numbers no matter how they ask.
Over the last year, the AI capabilities have become a real differentiator. The agentic chat lets us (and our customers) ask questions in plain English, and the agents can go beyond answering—they can build charts, dashboards, and alerts from a prompt. Knowi also ships as an MCP server, so our team can work with our analytics from AI tools we already use. Most importantly for us, these AI capabilities are embeddable: we’re currently deploying ask-your-data functionality to our own customers inside our product, with our agents talking to Knowi agents.
