One of the aspects I am particularly fond of is the dynamic integration with Fabric, which has greatly improved the way we do data engineering tasks and has allowed implementation to be faster than before due to less complex ETL. The Direct Lake mode is another game-changer for the professionals, providing instant performance on large volumes of data that we process frequently every day during reporting.
The numerous features are impressive too, especially the Copilot for Power BI, which has simplified working with DAX and generating the narrative. In addition to this ease of use, the seamless integration with the M365 ecosystem and robust community and customer support ensure that we can resolve technical hurdles quickly. I use Domo for analytics like monitoring finances, subscriptions, revenue, and reviews, which is really helpful. I find Domo great for allowing me to have a pulse on problems by showing how I'm doing across multiple metrics so I can quickly know if things are good or bad. I really like that Domo has all the connectors and that everything is in the browser. It has over 1000 connectors, which is very convenient for connecting to different data sources like finances, web traffic, and banking. Ilum is a free data lakehouse platform designed for scalability, flexibility, and simplicity.

What I appreciate most about ILUM is its Ease of Integration. The platform is built to be open and modular, allowing it to connect seamlessly with the tools we already rely on, such as Airflow, dbt, Jupyter, and various BI tools through JDBC. We didn't have to overhaul our existing workflows; ILUM integrated effortlessly, which meant less hassle during implementation and a much quicker realization of value—something I consider a major advantage.
Another standout aspect is the impressive range of features combined with how easy it is to use. Since ILUM is a unified platform, I can run SQL queries, review data lineage, and launch Spark jobs or notebooks all from a single interface, eliminating the need to constantly switch between different tools. Having that centralized control is incredibly convenient.
The process of implementing ILUM is both straightforward and nuanced, but for the most part, it's simple if you have the right infrastructure in place. Because ILUM is Kubernetes-native and deployed via Helm charts, if you already have a Kubernetes cluster set up, you can get the core components—Spark and the UI—up and running in less than five minutes using a basic Helm command.
Personally, I use ILUM as my main platform nearly every day in my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Onboarding helps me learn the platform quickly, and the support team is prompt in problem-solving any issues, which means I can unblock my progress within a day. Once the API setup and dashboard is running, it doesn't take much maintenance, and it's easy to share. Plus, embedding into Notion automates a ton of reporting, which is a game changer. I really appreciate Hex for making data analysis and dashboard creation much easier. Normally, I'd have to hire a data scientist, and it would take them a long time to complete the work and make it presentable; now I can do it all on my own. I especially like its AI agent; it's incredibly capable. I can simply tell it what I want in plain language, and while I have to guide it, it manages to find the data, transform it, and make it presentable. It's also been easy to learn, even though I didn't set up the initial software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's honestly the easiest BI tool I've used. Feels like a spreadsheet but it's pulling live data straight from Snowflake no extracts, no stale data. Setting up the connection with Snowflake is dead simple too, works with key pair or OAuth so it's quick and secure. It's easy to set up/launch the connection, but I find that a lot of my programmed refreshes aren't actually happening at the cadence I set. ex: I'll visit a file that should be refressehed daily, and it's multiple days old since the last refresh, and when I hit refresh, it hangs awhile, and sometimes errors out. I've set up a lot of coefficients lately, but some of them have just...tired-out or something. I also have noticed that we get emails from you guys saying that we need to re-do or refresh all our coefficients because of an update on your side or something. I have switched to Count for all the analysis I run, so I would say I use it on a daily-basis.
With Count, you can have queries, plots, text, reports, and comments all in the same place. I find this extremely valuable, as it effectively makes everything self-documenting: the queries that support the results, the interpretation, and the reviews that were made all live together. Moreover, we can collaborate in real-time on the same canvas, which is amazing.
I really like that Count allows you to create tiles and reference results, in a way that feels similar to a DAG in dbt. This helps avoid a lot of code duplication and significantly streamlines query creation. Personally, I think this makes a big difference because it allows me to split complex queries into clearly defined components and then combine their results as needed.
When using other tools, I sometimes felt constrained by the lack of flexible filtering, which was often managed at the organization level and pushed me toward hacky solutions. With Count, control cells make it easy to implement the exact filters you need, giving you a lot of freedom and power to build very flexible dashboards.
Finally, I think the Count support team is excellent. They are consistently helpful, whether I’m stuck or just looking for best practices to implement something in the tool. They either provide a solution or take note of the feedback to improve the product. A good example is the recent addition of support for different scales in facet plots, which addressed a limitation I personally encountered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
