"Great Lightweight IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It runs well on my windows tablet, and has an integrated console. Support for multiple languages via plugins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It is not that touch friendly. In screen keyboard pops up every time I tap on the editor. Touch text selection is not supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best editor for web development"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code has an elegant and snappy UI, even though it's based off of Electron, which is usually considered slow. It's way faster than another Electron-based editor Atom. It is customizable to a large extent and has a vibrant marketplace for third-party extensions, which provide features like themes, support for various languages and frameworks, autocompletion, Git integration and so on. If this weren't enough, the editor remains in active development, with new features released every few months! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Since it's based off of Electron, it's not as efficient or fast as a native editor like Sublime Text. If you want to open a really large text file, it performs noticeably worse than Sublime Text. Also, support for frameworks or libraries like Angular and React is provided by third-party extensions, instead of being built-in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"LIghtweight & easy to use. But there's place for improvements"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I used VS Code on a daily basis for 2 months. Compared to what I used before (Visual Studio) I like that VS Code feels lightweight and fast. Also once you learn the shortcuts it is really easy to navigate between files and edit them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The VS Code git tool does feel easy to use compare to what Visual Studio provided.

There could be some improvements on the 'Search in files' option as well, like being able to drag & drop a file into the 'files to include' / 'files to exclude' input. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"So much to like about VSCode!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Very easy transition from Sublime to VSCode starting out; it has all the same commands, shortcuts, layout, etc. The built in terminal integrated within the editor, as well as the git diffs. Especially nice are all the PLUGINS you can install! There's so much to add to it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It is slightly, very slightly slower than Sublime as an Electron app, but it is otherwise pretty light editor. There was a previous problem where it would require me to enter my password every time in order save files that were in a password protected area of my computer, but that has since been fixed now. "Best IDE for Developing front End projects"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like the user interface in this IDE.

it is very comfortable to develop the code for any type of project

regularly i use this IDE for UI development

we can have all the Files of the project will be opened in solution explorer this will help more to the developer to open the files Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Nothing much more to dislike in this IDE

if we want to execute the Project we will feel little difficult to execute there is no short cut to start or execute the application .we need to search in deep to find the execution of the project.

this is the only draw back i found in this IDE.

some times browser compatibility issues will get

we cant keep preference for the browser easily.

performance also will take little more time for execution Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, portable"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

A clear competitor of Atom, which I found to be harder to use and install because I specifically needed a portable editor, and VS Code is built this way. . Install git portable. Unzip and run the exe. Install a deploy package and bye bye ssh. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The configuration settings I find a little confusing, but there's very little not to like. Probably because this is VS based the tools are somewhat like VS Studio . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Takes a lot of space, not easy to setup, can be slow if there is not enough Ram Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
