## Windsurf Reviews
  ### 1. Windsurf Speeds Up Development with an Easy, Productive Workflow

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avi P. | Jr. Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

What I like most about Windsurf is how simple it is to use while still speeding up development by making both coding and debugging easier. Getting started is fairly quick, and it doesn’t take much effort to set up within my development workflow. I use it regularly during development, which helps me stay productive and keep tasks organized. It also includes a lot of useful features that make the overall coding and debugging process smoother. I haven’t needed customer support very often, but when I do, the available resources are helpful. On top of that, it works well with different development tools, so integrating it into an existing workflow is straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

What I dislike about Windsurf is that it can take a little time to fully understand all the features when starting out. Sometimes the interface can feel a bit overwhelming, and certain advanced options are not very intuitive. It would be better if the documentation and guidance for new users were a bit clearer.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windsurf helps solve the problem of slow development by making coding, debugging, and managing workflows easier. It helps me write and test code faster, stay organized, and integrate with other development tools smoothly, which improves my overall productivity.

  ### 2. Windsurf’s Powerful AI-Driven IDE: Cascade, Tab Autocomplete, and Live Previews

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Himanshu J. | Founder, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

What I like most about Windsurf is its core feature set: Cascade for deep, codebase-aware AI work; Tab for context-aware autocomplete; Previews for live website editing inside the IDE; MCP support; terminal commands in natural language; and inline refactoring tools.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

The biggest downside for me is that Windsurf feels designed for people who want a fairly opinionated, AI-heavy workflow, so it can be a bit much if you’re only looking for lightweight suggestions. On top of that, the pricing structure recently changed from a credit-based system to usage allowances that refresh daily and weekly.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windsurf brings generation, refactoring, navigation, previews, terminal help, and multi-file editing together in one environment. With its own fast models like Swe, and after being acquired by Cognition, it’s only getting better.

  ### 3. Helpful Code Assistant with Familiar VSCode Feel, but Needs Better BSD/Mac Context

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

Overall as a code assistance AI, I've found it to be helpfully. It has helped me with the tedious things I normally have to review documentation with especially commands like awk and sed when writing bash scripts. The UI/UX is very much like VSCode and that meant it took less time for me to learn the UI portion of the tool.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

It "forgets" that I'm normally running my bash scripts from a MacBook with the BSD syntax and not the Linux. While most of the time I see the Linux syntax and fix it, sometimes it has taken more prompts to remind Windsurf.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improved code generation with a focus on Terraform and bash scripting. I mostly use it for debugging.

  ### 4. Windsurf Makes Coding Easy and Fast with Superb AI Suggestions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

Windsurf is really very good! The AI suggestions are superb and coding becomes so easy and fast. Simply loving it

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Sometimes it is a bit slow and the suggestions are not always accurate. But overall it is still a very good tool

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windsurf is helping me to write code much faster and with less errors. The AI is understanding my requirements very well and giving good suggestions. It is saving a lot of my time and making my work so much easier and productive

  ### 5. Best AI Coding Tool, No Doubt Only!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

Windsurf AI is too good only! Coding became very fast and the suggestions are spot on. No need to think too much, it does the work itself. Superb tool, fully recommend for all developers.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Only small thing is, sometimes it takes little extra time to load yaar. Nothing major only, just minor lag here and there. Otherwise everything is too good itself.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before this, coding was taking so much time only. Now Windsurf is doing half the work itself, super fast delivery is happening. Productivity went up like anything, client is also happy.

  ### 6. Seamless AI Integration, Cost-Effective Coding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Purachet C. | Full-Stack Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

I appreciate Windsurf for its seamless integration with multiple AI code assistants within a single editor, allowing me to effortlessly switch between them. This flexibility is incredibly valuable as it enables me to use different agents tailored to specific tasks, such as using ChatGPT for text writing and Sonnet for coding. The platform is well-integrated with these assistants, enhancing my workflow efficiency. I particularly like the ability to switch to low credit assistants for simple tasks, which helps me manage costs effectively while maintaining productivity. The quick code suggestions feature is another highlight, offering immediate support and ideas, thus speeding up my coding process. Additionally, I admire how Windsurf's AI integration surpasses that of Visual Studio Code, which was a significant factor in choosing Windsurf as my preferred tool.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

I am concerned about the pricing of Windsurf, particularly after Sonnet became more expensive. I feel it would be beneficial if the pricing could be lowered to make it more affordable, especially since I rely on low credit assistants for simple tasks.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Windsurf to integrate multiple AI code assistants efficiently, saving costs with quick code suggestions and seamless switching between agents for varied tasks.

  ### 7. Versatile AI Integration, Minimal Setup

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Warit C. | Full-Stack Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

I appreciate the ability to switch between agents in Windsurf, as they are often updated, allowing me to choose the best one currently on the market. It's really helpful to be able to select different agents for different tasks without having to change my AI subscriptions. The better integration with agents compared to VSCode was a key reason for switching. I found the initial setup very easy, just needing to install and log in.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Sometimes agents make mistakes and are unable to edit code. For example, Gemini 3 Pro currently occasionally fails and asks me what to do, so I have to reply and spend twice the credits on the task which should have already been solved.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Windsurf for coding, appreciating its AI agent integration that allows switching between multiple updated agents without changing subscriptions.

  ### 8. I love it, this is my daily driver for coding.

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

1)Unlimited autocomplete in free plan as well as SWE-1 in free plan it helps a lot in developing.
2)SWE-1 has very accurate code for my use case which is mostly backend and creating UI and stuff in react.
3)The code written by cascade is auto applied without accepting or saving code so developer can just test if it works then they can accept it, It's beautiful.
4)The windsurf browser it's wow man, how it selects div , gets logs insane helpful in frontend development.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

SWE-1 has very slow response time I just have to wait a long. One more thing the cascade terminal has a lot of bug it should be improved.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating UI mainly in react and next.
sometimes the deadlines are too tough so I take help of the cascade to create backend business logics as well and integrate it very quickly

  ### 10. Super Easy Entry Into the World of Coding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jugal b. | Junior software engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2025

I love how approachable and beginner friendly Windsurf is. The instructions are clear, the equipment is high quality and comfortable, with all possible available options of AI to switch between using ctrl + l shortcut command make it very easy for me to code in windsurf IDE.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Sometimes the wait times for windsurf can be a little long and frustrating for very small small things and also it is making mistakes sometimes.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windsurf IDE solves the hassle of switching between different tools for coding, debugging, and managing projects. With Windsurf, I get an all in one workspace similar to VS Code with fast code editing, intuitive navigation, and seamless integration with version control systems. Just give a prompt to cascade using ctrl + l and boom coding is done.

  ### 11. Nice tool for coding and handling development-related tasks with AI help like no other

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

The AI assistance feature is the best thing about Windsurf and truly surpasses any other AI IDE tool that I have used to far. It is intelligent enough to understand your codebase, folder structure, intentions and will even guide you with troubleshooting and etc. You just open it up and select your desired model and you're good to go. Whenever we'd have issues with outages or the rest of the app their customer support was always really quick to help and troubleshoot the issue. I use this IDE everyday for my coding tasks and it is truly a gamechanger for productivity.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Sometimes the AI chat window/pane can be sluggish and laggy when a certain very long response would be created - it used to happen in the past and no longer happens anymore, so the team has probably already fixed it. Dependency on external AI models can sometimes be dangerous in cases when OpenAI or Anthropic are facing outages.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps with daily coding tasks as well as code review and troubleshooting deployments, additions or updates to our repos, code and etc. It can help with GIT merge and other operations when you might feel stuck.

What I like best about Windsurf is how easy it makes project and task management. The interface is intuitive, collaboration features are solid, and tracking progress across teams is simple and clear. It helps me in coding as I am a backend developer.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Windsurf is great overall, but switching between projects or managing very large boards could be smoother.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windsurf keeps projects and tasks organized, improves team collaboration, and ensures deadlines are met efficiently.

The AI-assisted code suggestions and real-time explanations are incredibly helpful. It’s lightweight compared to traditional IDEs, has a clean interface, and improves productivity by reducing repetitive tasks.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Since it’s relatively new, the plugin ecosystem and community support are not as extensive as older IDEs. Occasionally, the AI suggestions can be off-target, requiring manual adjustments.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windsurf reduces the time spent searching for solutions or writing boilerplate code by providing context-aware AI guidance. It helps accelerate learning, debugging, and code generation, making development more efficient and less error-prone.

  ### 14. Familiar UI and Smooth Migration, But AI Lags with Heavy Context

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Igor N. | CO-FOUNDER, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

I like Windsurf more than Cursor because it feels closer to VS Code. The UI and workflow were familiar, so the migration was much easier for me.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

The only thing I don’t like is that when the context gets too full, the AI starts lagging and acting buggy.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windsurf helps me move faster by keeping coding, refactoring, and AI assistance in one place. It reduces context switching and speeds up repetitive work. It also helps me prototype features quickly and clean up legacy code much faster than doing it manually.

  ### 17. Smarter than cursor but less polished

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yash P. | Software engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

I like the approach where they are not just giving you a chatbox like cursor. It feels way less clustered

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Writing in an IDE which is so immature is hard. It does not have a lot of extensions which you can easily get in VS, cursor or Pycharm

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We want to pivot our development to AI first approach so we gave windsurf a try.

  ### 18. A great free tool for writing codes efficiently.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaik Mohammed S. | Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

I like the code autocompletion feature the most because it is amrt and fast. It is very useful when doing tedious work in projects or big size ones. also the code completion is very fast compared to its rivals like copilot. Besides, it is easy to use as it can be integrated with different IDEs such as Visual Studio Code or JetBrains without any issues. The best thing is that it is free to use.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Although Codeium is very powerfull but its a little behind from other tools in terms of the dept of code and some other features like workflow automations, code customization and support to multiple code testing libraries these features can come really handy especially in big projects.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, Codeium solves the problem of writing the same old generic code agian and again, I use codeium for generating these codes and I use my saved time for solving more complex problems which require more deep thinking, and it also helps with generating the code boilerplates for libraries. Additionally, it reduces error by providing intelligent code suggestions on real time which leads to cleaner, more efficient code. While working with large codebases its search functionality simplifies navigating through complex projects. Even it can be used with company/client projects as it adheres to strict security and privacy policies. Basically it saves time, increases productivity and make the development process smoother. By giving these features for free Codeium is really contributing to the tech industry.

I can use SWE and GPT Codex for free for now.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

It should preserve the history and checkpoints so that we can revert the code to a specific checkpoint.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windsurf is used to develop the Flutter app and the backend app through the Cascade AI agent.

  ### 20. Unreliable Service and Poor Customer Support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

It used to work well before, but then everything fall apart and every request is full of error.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

I had a terrible experience with Codeium. They charged me $100 without my consent and then stopped providing the promised features without any explanation. When I reached out to dispute the charge and seek clarification, they completely ghosted me. There was no response to my emails, and I felt completely ignored as a customer.

This lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to avoid using Codeium. There are far better and more reliable alternatives out there that actually value their customers. Save yourself the frustration and money—this company is not worth it.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Codeium claims to solve problems like improving productivity and streamlining workflows, but in my experience, it did the exact opposite.

Instead of benefiting me, Codeium created more problems. Their lack of communication and refusal to address my concerns made it clear that they don’t care about their customers. I would not recommend this product to anyone. There are far better tools out there that actually deliver on their promises.

For those learning a coding language, this can be challenging as Codeium provides multiple suggestions. Best to mention that there's a learning curve. For intermediate users onward, this is a breeze and a helpful assistant.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Expedites development. There are times when Codeium just writes entire functions and you're just left to edit parts to customize it to your liking.

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

Codeium is very easy to use and provides really helpful suggestions. Since it's all on premise, it's super fast, even as a remote worker, it's unoticeable.

I've tried Github copilot with ChatGPT open in a separate browser and I find that codeium works better and offer better suggestions, primarily since it's better integrating context from nearby files or opened tabs.

Since it's running on premise, we are not worried about having our IP leaked on to OpenAI's platform.

The customer support has been fantastic. They are very responsive and get things fixed pretty quickly. Codeium has been pretty stable on the server side, it's our deployment that's a little strange. Despite that, they still supported us.

For me, I use it everyday for getting suggested names. Giving good names to variables and functions is really hard, but very important for readability and maintanability of code and it's so nice at giving suggestions on that. The code suggestion is just bonus.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Codeium, being an independent code completion tool lacks some integrations in to the IDE, though I don't fault them for that.
The IDEs need to make it easier for external LSPs to integrate nicely in their ecosystem.

Neovim, surprisingly, has the best integration of codeium from all the plugins I've tried, but that's not where most of my colleagures are.
The second best would be VS Code.

Without proper IDE integration, it always just feels like a constant battle between the IDE's native LSP and Codeium's suggestions.

  ### 32. Codeium - Free AI-powered code acceleration toolkit

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Windsurf?**

Most useful is the Codeium vscode extension, which helps in completing the code, providing
refactoring suggestions, and snippet suggestions.
It reads your code and helps in writing better code and making good comments and messages to send to clients.

**What do you dislike about Windsurf?**

Sometimes it provides the wrong suggestion and may require more training on data similar to chatGPT.
Currently, it's unable to write code as explained in the comments.

**What problems is Windsurf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When writing code it helps to focus on business logic rather than writing comments or response messages, those side work will be done by codeium.
It helps in providing better code quality and validation checks by suggesting proper if-else, try-catch conditions wherever required.
