What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Everything just feels like it is where it belongs. Fast Searching, highly customizible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Not much to dislike. One thing that does bother me is that they don't use CTRL+SHIFT+S as save all but save-as rather. Frustrating Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightweight solution for writing code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VS Code is very easy to use and straight forward. I use it for web applications in a small team and I had a good experience with it, never crashed and the loading time is excelent.

Also I tried a few of the available extensions and I’m pleased with the usage scenarios that they cover. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The debugging features are not that great. But maybe I don’t have enough experience with the product. One thing that keeps happening is the debugger detaching when I refresh the browser. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Similar to Sublime Text but free"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Beautiful syntax highlighting, can run Python and other scripts in terminal. Can have multiple cursors, like Sublime, and has good integration with the workspace so that you can see what else is in the directory easily. Can easily launch various terminals. Zen mode is great for single-tasking. Best feature is that it auto saves content so that random crashes don't lose work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Seems to use Windows line endings by default, so can cause some problems with Linux servers occasionally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Language support for a few languages is spotty. Java, for example, can be run and debugger, but not as a servlet page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VS Code and DotNet Core"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VS Code is an ideal platform for developing DotNet Core solutions. Code is lightweight enough to load quickly, for simple edits, but the rich plugin support provides easy access to intellisense for almost any segment of the process from: DotNet Core; HTML; Nuget Package; JSON; and more. I had not trouble incorporating build automation processes like Gulp and WebPack, - and Git is of course a first level integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Deep debugging processes are still better done in Visual Studio, where Live Debugging can provide much more detailed information about the processes being debugged. But VS Code is still more than adequate when debugging during the creation process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
