**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

Visual Studio Code has been my primary code editor for automation testing, and one of the things I appreciate most is how fast and responsive it feels. I use it to write and maintain Selenium and Playwright automation scripts, API test collections, and various utility scripts. The built-in Git integration, IntelliSense, debugging tools, and integrated terminal save me a lot of time because I don’t have to switch between multiple applications to get work done.

The extension marketplace is another major advantage. Whether I’m working with Java, TypeScript, JSON, YAML, or Docker, there are plenty of extensions that help streamline my workflow and boost productivity. Overall, it gives me everything I need in a single editor without feeling heavy or bloated.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

I don’t have many complaints, but after installing a lot of extensions, startup can get a bit slower and memory usage goes up. A few extensions also need some extra configuration before they work properly. Once everything is set up, though, the overall experience is very smooth.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visual Studio Code gives me a single place to write, debug, and maintain my automation framework. As a QA Automation Engineer, I use it to develop test scripts, review code changes, troubleshoot failures, and handle configuration files. With Git integration, an embedded terminal, debugging tools, and strong code navigation built into the editor, my day-to-day work goes much faster.

It’s also made it simpler to move between Java and TypeScript projects without needing to switch tools. The editor remains responsive even when I’m working across multiple repositories, which helps me stay focused on writing and maintaining solid automation code rather than spending time managing my development environment.

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

It’s the best product Microsoft has ever made. From developers for developers. You can do everything you need while coding without leaving the software: writing code, versioning, debugging… and even using the terminal (I’m a Linux user). The variety of plugins is extremely extensive, so it’s easy to adapt it to the way you work.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

Nothing I can really think of. The only thing I’m a bit worried about is that it’s owned by Microsoft, and you never know what might happen in the future.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I’m coding, I don’t need to leave the software. I can handle commits, FTP uploads, debugging, and running commands in the Terminal, plus even error detection, all in one place.

The way AI is integrated is fantastic. Co-pilot, Claude, Codex, and the others are available in a side panel. You can chat while you work, review code changes in real time, approve them or not, and keep refining them. Super.

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

Well, I’m a founder, but I’m also one of the core engineers on my team, and I work on our complete infrastructure. As an engineer, VS Code is one of the most important tools for me—I honestly can’t imagine coding without it. The UI is fantastic, and the extension marketplace is very rich, with a huge number of different extensions. There are also many options even for a single extension, which makes it easy to find what fits your workflow.

The setup is easy, and features like search, workspaces, and direct terminal integration are extremely helpful. We don’t need an external PowerShell or CMD to run commands or work with files, which is very common in our Go backend and React development, etc. The new Copilot integration is also really good. It’s smart, it can read files, and it can execute commands, and it can also help solve settings problems if anything comes up.

The UI is also simple and clean. Even a normal person with no high-tech knowledge can understand the UI easily in a few minutes, though the deeper settings and related things can be slightly complex for a beginner. For a coder, it’s simple. The current agents window is also very good. We use the chat side panel too, but not frequently, because we don’t use the VS Code chatbot daily—still, it’s good, and the agent window is good as well. The new agent personalizing feature is fantastic; it allows our team to personalize the AI agent according to our needs, like for our Go engineers, etc. Overall, there are many useful features.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

Overall, most things are good. I, and my other team members, haven’t found any major dislikes. However, we did run into a few problems: when we first started and our infrastructure wasn’t large, our PCs showed high memory consumption. Also, when dozens of extensions are installed, startup can sometimes take longer, and memory usage increases as well. I’d suggest using at least an i-series processor and 8 GB RAM. On our current i7 and the Intel Ultra processors, it runs very smoothly.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’ve been using it daily for years, and it has become a real part of my and my team’s everyday work. Even now, as a founder, I spend hours developing our new app-based project, and VS Code is simply part of our routine. It runs smoothly, and the UI is simple and easy to work with. The Remote Tunnel access feature is also very good, especially when I’m working away from my main PC. Since I’m a founder, I can’t stay in the office developer area all the time, and many times I have to be away from the office, so this is really helpful.

I’ve been using Visual Studio Code for web development and other programming projects, and it has become my primary code editor because it balances strong performance with a wide range of practical features. AI intellijence is good, but the tokens expire too soon, and the cost of coilot is pretty expensive.

I love working with vision studio code. The best thing about it is like we can integrated multiple different languages. We can use multiple different extensions. Almost it. Supports it open up quickly. We can go quickly and overall our vast big community.

Overall vision today is very great. The one thing if you ask me what I don't like it is bit complicated to configure sometimes very handy thing to set. It takes a lot of time and needs to understand a lot other than that. It is simple. Quick only setting seems to be bit difficult.

Visual Studio Code is solving my job task. It is all about I can go quickly. I can write down scripts. I can automate things not just with Visu but visual with Python or visual studio with my coding languages. So it is a plan. It is basically a platform for me to try out new things.

Visual Studio Code is my go-to editor, and it makes my daily workflow incredibly smooth. The most helpful part is how great it is to code with its auto-complete and real-time error catching. It points out my mistakes before I even run the code, which saves me a lot of debugging time.

It is also highly customizable because of the massive marketplace of extensions. Whether I am writing Python scripts or configuring tools like Docker and Ansible on my Ubuntu machine, I can always find the exact plugins I need.

The new GitHub Copilot integration takes it to another level. Having access to multiple AI models, the Copilot agent, and the new plan feature is incredibly useful for brainstorming and writing code faster. Along with other built-in features like the integrated terminal, it just provides a complete, reliable, and fantastic coding experience.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

While I love using VS Code, its performance can sometimes be a major drawback. Because it is built on Electron, it can consume a massive amount of RAM and memory. When running multiple extensions or working on large projects, this heavy resource usage frequently slows down my system, causes my PC to heat up, or even makes the editor hang entirely. Because of this, it often feels way too overwhelming and heavy if I just want to perform a simple coding task or quickly browse through a repository.

Additionally, managing updates on Ubuntu isn't very user-friendly. Depending on how it's installed (like via Snap or manual .deb packages), getting the latest version can feel clunky and interrupted, which breaks the seamless experience you expect from a modern editor.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem VS Code solves for me is constant context-switching. Being able to use AI chatbots like Claude directly from the workspace means I no longer have to switch back and forth between my editor and a web browser just to get help.

It helps me speed up my entire development process. While the standard auto-complete feature is good on its own, the new GitHub Copilot integration is the real game-changer. It is incredibly helpful during the early stages of planning system designs and choosing technologies.

First is trust: it’s developed by Microsoft, so its reliability can’t really be questioned. Second, it offers a huge number of extensions that make coding easier, and it also provides a wide range of themes, so you can set it according to your mood and environment. Third, GitHub support: since it’s a Microsoft product, it gives you an easy, beginner-friendly GitHub integration, and you can directly push your project to your GitHub from the IDE. Finally, AI support: you can integrate CODEX by chatgpt or Copilot into your VS Code and use it for a cool vibe-coding experience.

I find Visual Studio Code's extension ecosystem and flexibility highly beneficial. It feels lightweight and yet offers powerful capabilities like cross-platform development, integrated terminal and CLI support. I also appreciate the features like live share, which makes it easy to guide students remotely, solving the problem of disconnected learning in labs. Extensions turn it into a complete development environment tailored to my needs, allowing for domain-specific billing, cloud integration, version control, and collaboration. This flexibility reduces context switching and consolidates my workflow without needing to open separate IDEs, terminals, and dashboards. Visual Studio Code becomes even more powerful when paired with other tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and GitLens. The initial setup was very straightforward and quick, with a simple installation process, which I found easy to understand, making it more efficient compared to other IDEs I've used.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

While Visual Studio Code is excellent overall, it could be improved in a few areas.
