"Comfortably develop your applications"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio code is simply a very complete programming environment, it has its own debugger and it also has integrated add-ons with the navigation of Git repositories, the highlighting of the text is excellent since it shows a different color for each programming language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

This software takes a while to run and even more so if I have a large project open, some add-ons can also configure certain options, apart from these few disadvantages, I still consider it to be an excellent code editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual study code the wonderful editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like the speed and the interface with which the editor is made. I am surprised as a semi-professional developer, since I can be very productive and fast with this editor. In addition, support is always aware of problems, giving updates from time to time, making development safer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

By installing extensions, modifying it and being a newbie, it can be very complex and a new world without exploring. You will have to get used to and improve productivity and speed. Visual study code has a very strong potential, however, by having many lines of code and not having a computer capable of supporting, development becomes very heavy and slow. "Most used piece of software."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The extensions that can be applied to the IDE makes it the most versatile piece of programming software on the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There is very little to dislike about VS Code, because if there is an issue there will usually be an extension that can be applied to fix or extend the functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best code editor of ages"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Modularity. I can add or remove extensions depending on my need. It's super light weight with no extra superbly unwanted features. The colour schemes! Overall VSCode is the only code editor I use. There are like so many extensions and plugins for almost all the technologies and the community support is also damn good. Most importantly it is free of cost. Visual studio code is a free code editor! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I can't think of anything but sometimes its kinda unstable. I had to manually reload the windows a few times. And in Mac the font smoothing is not so perfect but that's resolved in VSCode insiders. So yeah basically there's not much to dislike in VSCode. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

we can use multi programming to code using visual studio code ,as Laravel,Angular ,Php etc... And we can customize background color like we wish. It most important to developer. Because coding environment highly impact to programmer. we can use Auto save function to save what when we have changed the code. don't need to it manual using Ctrl+S. we can use more Extension easy way.And now it link with git therefore we can commit using visual studio code .it is very helpful. And I can customize this interface as i need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very enhanced code editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VS Code's embedded git control is very powerful and mimics almost all the native Git bash powers which makes it easier to collaborate and keep track of file changes. ALso when it comes to collaboration, it's very easy to work on the same file at the same time by multiple people.

There is also a very comprehensive package control centre on vs code. In fact I think this is the editor with the best plugin options used sometimes by millions of people which means they are immensely trusted. The fact that it is a Microsoft product plays a big role because it is a very big company that has to ensure the plugins uploaded to its repository are of high quality and meet certain security and architectural design standards.

There is also integrated debugging for javascript, typescript and nodejs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

VS code requires a lot of memory on start up and to run. This ends up making file search anextremely slow which then means working with really large projects becomes very frustrating.

VS code' auto complete and code check is inferior compared to what Webstorm (its main competition) offers. There are tmes when you aren't informed when you make a typo in a function or variable name. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Impressive user interface for a text editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I have started to learn Python from Microsoft courses, as a part of this course I installed Visual Studio Code to my computer. As a new user, first thing catch my eye is the user interface. Looking very cool with that dark theme and fancy font colours. Extensions feature is another better thing about it, at the beginning of the Python course, I easily installed Python extension for Visual Studio Code inside the app. Installing the extension was so easy and it configured itself in a second.

If I need to mention about coding part, best feature is autocomplete. Also suggestions are very well, when you start to write something, VSC suggest you possible codes. Suggestions makes your coding easier just with clicking on TAB key. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

After using it for a month, Python scripts stopped working on Visual Studio Code. I updated Python but it did not fixed. According to my searches, it was because of Visual Studio Code. A lot of people have had the same problem and asked about it on internet communities. I tried every method explained on knowledge bases, it did not work. I ended up with re-installing everything which took my 3 hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My experience with Visual Studio Code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

This is Code Editor which I used more than 2+ years. Nowadays also I used visual studio code. It's flexible and fast. If it is Code Editor which has features like IDE. I can work with many programming languages and there are many IntelliSense packages are available. It has built-in git support, So it's made easy to work with git. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio is not a much built-in theme. I had to install them separately. some packages are not supported. To work with the VS code. It gives an updated note which is very annoying to me. Another thing to open the VS code window takes some time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The new kid on the block with cool moves"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I am a big proponent of the open source software movement and I always stayed away from the visual studio ecosystem as it was full of proprietary products, but visual studio code is the rare exception as Microsoft has built an opensource code editor for the first time and I have made the switch to VS code ( Remember, even Microsoft's notepad is not open source code). Here are my favourite features in VS code:

Marketplace: Microsoft Visual studio code is feature rich and comes with a lot of bells and whistles, but it also enables users to download custom plugins from its market place and these plugins are wide and varied, for instance there is a docker plugin that lets us create manage and run dockerized processes

Native integration with GIT: Visual studio code plays well with Git, it does all the basic git operations right within the app so there is minimal context switching when coding. No more typing long git commands, get everything done with a few clicks.

Inbuilt terminal: I hate to write code and then open a terminal to run it. With a fully functional terminal Visual studio code is the one tool that I need to build and test my all my apps in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The face that visual studio code just like atom is an electron app that unnecessarily uses excessive RAM and memory. Another dislike that I have about visual studio code is the fact that it makes outbound Http requests, I am concerned that Microsoft might be tracking developers and their activities without the developer's consent.
