Hey everyone,
I’m looking into performance review platforms that are a great fit for software companies. Ideally, the right performance management tool should support structured reviews, goal alignment, and regular check-ins, while still being user-friendly for both managers and developers.
I’ve narrowed it down to a few platforms that are currently rated highly on G2's performance management software page:
-
BambooHR: A favorite for growing tech companies thanks to its simplicity and ease of use. Its performance review module offers review cycles, goal setting, and peer feedback built right into its broader HR platform.
-
Lattice: Tailored for modern, agile teams, Lattice combines performance reviews, OKRs, one-on-ones, and engagement tools into a single platform. It’s particularly strong in helping software teams maintain transparency and track development goals.
-
PerformYard Performance Management: Focused specifically on performance reviews and appraisals, PerformYard is ideal for teams wanting to customize their process and automate workflows. It works well for engineering orgs with structured performance frameworks.
-
Culture Amp: Well-regarded for its strong emphasis on engagement and development, Culture Amp blends performance reviews with continuous feedback and analytics. Many software teams use it to foster a feedback-first culture.
-
HiBob (Bob): A modern HRIS with built-in performance tools, Bob is designed for dynamic, global companies. Its review features are flexible and visual, supporting agile teams and hybrid workplaces.
If you’re on a software team and have used any of these, I’d love to hear what’s worked well—or not so well—for you. Which tool made performance reviews easier or more impactful? Any hidden gems or must-have features we should know about? Appreciate any insights you can share!
