"The complete editor solution"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The ease of use. Visual studio code is user friendly. Debugging the code is also pretty simple as it shows the runtime values for variables and expressions . The option to operate on multiple terminals for running the code and looking at the output is great. It also gives direct versioning status using the source control option which is useful for identifying the files with changes in them. The integration with third party extensions is also good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Debugging view could be improved a little by including some more features like enabling and disabling of all breakpoints together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightweight coding environment"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code has what I need to program in Dot Net Core and newer javascript libraries like React. It's got syntax highlighting, but it is also fast to load. I have no complaints about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IDE for developers to work on."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code has integrated Git control system which I like the most as it helps us to easy pull and push our code. It includes debugging tools for Node.js, TypeScript and JavaScript. It's a lightning fast source code editor and perfect for day to day use.

There are many plugins available to extend its functionality, one of them is "Git lens" which we can use to view commit changes at specific line /file for tracking purpose which reduces efforts to check the code commit in specific file history in any software tool (eg. dev azure).

It is easy to use Visual Studio Code and especially liked by many front-end developers. It has color theme, Source control management to see in which file you have changed and many other powerful features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

* In some cases, debugging makes a problem if works on different languages.

* Not helpful for apps that require windows authentication.

* Running multiple instances at a time can consume lot of memory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Complete IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like how easily you can install this Software and customize the IDE. You can install all the extensions you need for development from the extension tab. Can be used with version control systems. You can easily set this as default and can integrate the IDE with your command-line interface. It has wide support across different platforms and environments. Syntax highlight is available for every programming language. Many different shortcuts are available to make the development easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I have been using this IDE for almost 2 years now and I do not have encounter any such thing that I can dislike about the software. But the IDE can drain your machine's battery quicker as compared to other IDE. You might have to plug in the adapter when you use the IDE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
