"Nice to see MS separate out code editor as a separate app from their bulky Visual Studio"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Well this is nice if we consider it as a light weight verson of visual studio. Functionality wise does match other editors like sublime, atom, notepad++. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Speed-wise still the slowest among the above. I use sublime text most of the time and hence can confirm this for sure. I use notepad++ also which is also lightning fast. But Visual studio code is still lagging in this department. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Free & optimized code editor that suits all your needs!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It support extensions, so I can see and edit my Azure resources without leaving my workspace, I can compile projects in different languages/frameworks (C#, Flutter, PHP, Node.js, Python). It also has a Terminal integrated, and the performance is quite optimal. And it's free & cross-platform! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Xamarin is not supported yet, I hope this is solved soon with .NET MAUI Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IDE for Beginners"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Features of auto-complete in coding is the most favorite feature of mine, because of that you can write fast and efficient code easily. Another best things is it supports many languages, you just have to install extension for particular language, that's it. It provides data directory feature, like we can manage our folder inside Visual Studio Code itself. Best thing is it is lightweight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The thing I don't like is some times it takes time for opening because of some previously loaded files which will open again whenever you start the Visual Studio Code again. If we want to compile some languages code then we must have to install that compiler on our local system then we can use it in Visual Studio Code's terminal. "Prime software for python coding"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It's so easy to work with, has an included terminal that is ideal to work with when managing APIs, and has a lot of add-ons that are actually useful for my work. I started using it as it was the default software for the DevNet certification course I took and it just clicked with me so I incorporated it as my default text editor, what I like the most is that I can ping devices directly from the editor without needing to command-tab. What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

For the time I have used it so far I have not found a flaw yet, so great work Microsoft. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
