Vevox has a great selection of audience interaction features, it's easy to use, and very reliable. The app is regularly updated to add new features. We work with lots of different clients that have varied requirements. Most of the time Vevox can be used no matter who the client is because of the broad range of functionality. In the past there were some features missing from Vevox that would mean we need to use different apps depending on the requirements. However most of these have been addressed with updates. As an Educational Technologist, I appreciate Vevox's user-friendly interface, which simplifies the process of training lecturers to incorporate interactive elements into their sessions. The platform's seamless integration with PowerPoint allows educators to embed polls and quizzes directly into their presentations, facilitating real-time student engagement. Some lecturers have experienced a flickering cursor when using the Vevox PowerPoint add-in on Windows systems. This behaviour appears to be related to how Office 365 add-ins operate within the Windows environment and is not specific to Vevox. While this issue can be distracting, it doesn't affect the add-in's functionality. Easy to use, but when I do have questions, Charlie Thomas, Joe Flanagan and Kyle Freeman are super great at responding to my emails in a heartbeat, especially given that we are half a world away from each other. I love how there are different options to make it interactive, as well as the option to make it a live presentation or a “survey” that can be done when the participant is available. It's very easy to use. Even when switching to more advanced features, they're still straightforward. Documentation is clear whenever you need additional information. Support is amazing.

The main functionalities used were:

Poll questions via PowerPoint add-in integrated with our presentations. Live reporting on the number of people who managed to join. Live reporting on the audience who had time to answer the poll

We also used the paid function of quizzes and leaderboard. Nice touch on allowing to use background music for the quiz answer time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have not used SSO since we didn't purchase the Institution subscription, because we're self-funded for now. The only issue we found is that we couldn't purchase a month subscription, rather the site listed only yearly subscription. I really like how there are different features which can all be used for different purposes to encourage active student participation and to increase engagement. It's easy to use and can be used for both online and in person delivery. Often I teach students who have different levels of expertise and so one feature I find particularly beneficial is the VEVOX Wordclouds to determine the level of knowledge and understanding students have on a particular topic. I frequently use these at the start of sessions so that I can adapt my session accordingly. Another thing I like about VEVOX is that the anonymity encourages students to contribute to sessions. I have not had any negative experiences so far- I am still exploring the features. However one thing I have struggled with is embedding VEVOX into my PowerPoint Presentations as it does not always work (but this is a technical glitch which other colleagues within my University have experienced). I am a University professor teaching a range of class sizes (up to almost 300 students). I have tried several different audience participation apps since my University starting phasing out clickers and Vevox has been by far the best. It is not silly and gimmicky like some (which are more suitable for younger students). It has more flexibility in answer length and number of answers possible for multiple choice questions. It has a range of different question types. The customer service is OUTSTANDING. I have had personalised sessions where I discussed ways I thought the software could be improved and they listened and in the meantime I was given workarounds to try. The interface is simple and easy, but that is a disadvantage as well as an advantage -- some features/settings (accessing former questions, for example, and timing of question presentation) are very difficult to find. The Q&A page is separate from the quizzing pages, and I don't get notified if a student has put something on the Q&A page when I am running quizzes. All in all, these are fairly minor.
