I enjoyed the style of Shopify POS, as it made the process feel simpler for staff and the UI was fresh and appealing, making onboarding new sales staff less daunting. I also found the integration with marketing tools quite useful. The semiautomatic marketing tools in Shopify enabled easy follow-ups with existing customers to ask for reviews or inform them of sales, which helped our paperless operation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Shopify POS? It seems they put most effort into the looks instead of function. The features were heavily tilted to selling and marketing, when it came to functions necessary to operating a store, things like stock and inventory management were insufficient, unreliable or nonexistent. We were unable to fully commit to this product because it did not have the basic features we needed. There is no stocktaking function in the program, barcodes scanned on the POS app rarely worked, the options for an 'end of day' cashup were far too limited, and the options to print anything even using 'legacy printer' were being removed. Painstaking setup adding all products into the backend and setting up all store locations and we had to abandon that side of Shopify and go back to our prior program. Also the constant unavoidable updates would often break functions, limit them or hide them under additional buttons (increasing workflow steps) The pricing grows as your business does but it feels more like a punishment than a partnership.
