Constant Contact's advanced automation tools give me exactly what I need to run fast, responsive cold outreach campaigns. I love how easy it is to segment and nurture leads through triggered sequences, especially for B2B decision-makers in government and IT. The new editor is intuitive, and building 5-part email drips with integrated CTAs (like booking a consultation or downloading a lead magnet) is seamless. What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?

There’s room to improve when it comes to testing and optimization. A/B testing options are limited for advanced users, and we could use better UX for building long sequences (e.g., visual flowcharts like ActiveCampaign). What do you like best about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?

I use Constant Contact Advanced Automation mainly to streamline email marketing workflows and enjoy how it turns simple email lists into smart, behavior-based customer journeys. The automation builder is visual and intuitive, allowing me to map out multiple paths without coding. It saves me tons of time with a set-it-and-forget-it convenience, as workflows run automatically once set up. The standout feature for me is the behavior-based triggers, allowing sequences to react to subscriber actions, ensuring tailored content. I also love the easy segmentation based on engagement history and campaign interactions, improving conversions by making emails feel personal. The integration with landing pages and sign-up forms is smooth, automatically putting leads into the correct sequences. What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?

A few things in Constant Contact Advanced Automation could definitely be improved to make it smoother and more competitive with other automation platforms: Limited branching logic. The workflows are visual, but the conditional logic can feel basic. Sometimes I want deeper 'if/then' paths (like stacking multiple conditions or combining behavioral and demographic filters), and the system doesn’t allow that level of complexity yet. Reporting isn’t granular enough. The analytics dashboard gives high-level stats, but it would be more useful to have detailed performance metrics inside each step of an automation sequence — for example, seeing drop-off rates by email, trigger performance, and A/B split data in one view. A/B testing could be much stronger. You can test subject lines and variations, but true multi-step A/B testing for entire workflows isn’t really supported. It's a missed opportunity for optimizing long sequences. Setup can feel rigid. Once a sequence is live, editing it is sometimes clunky. Making changes mid-flow is limited, and any major adjustment might require duplicating or rebuilding parts of the automation. Integrations are good but not deep. Forms and landing pages integrate well, but I’d like more robust native connections with CRMs or e-commerce platforms without needing additional middleware. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate that Constant Contact Advanced Automation is affordable, especially when compared to other options in the market like Mailchimp or Klaviyo, which makes it a cost-effective choice for my needs. I love the landing page feature because it allows me to create free offers that attract new email subscribers. It's user-friendly, allowing customers to easily enter their name, email, and phone number in exchange for valuable content like infographics or workbooks. I would say the interface can be updated. You can tell that with Constant Contact that they've been around for a long time. So, the back end looks outdated and complicated. Not very user friendly. Building the blocks of the actual email, it's itself, was very challenging. Again, it wasn't user-friendly, and I had to look at a YouTube video to support me. What I love most is how intuitive it is. What I really like about Constant Contact’s advanced automation is how easy and intuitive it is to use. Setting up a DRIP campaign is straightforward, and I love how simple it is to apply rules, manage list segments, and use tags to personalize the flow. What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?

One downside, however, is the lack of an option to automatically stop the campaign once the goal is achieved. For instance, if my goal is to get a client to book an appointment and they do so after the 5th email in a 10-email series, there’s currently no built-in way to stop the remaining emails from going out. This could potentially be solved if there were deeper integrations with external booking tools like YouCanBook.me—so that a tag or event trigger could end the campaign once the appointment is set. What do you like best about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?

Constant Contact automation makes sending our weekly updates very easy to our clientele. I use CC daily for different types of segmented groups. My result is a well-organized and easy to maneuver through email which I link to many different web pages, including event reservations and ticket purchasing. Constant Contact is both easy to use and to be on the receiving end looking at the final result. I have had positive experiences with customer service as well. What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?

The only downside I have experienced, is when starting a new template, I may find one I like but wish to change a picture that was originally part of the template, and it is very difficult to do so.
