Our small B2C business evaluated several CPQ providers in detail before deciding on Vendavo CPQ. We chose Vendavo CPQ due to: 1) customizable and intuitive user interface 2) ability to implement ourselves with guided support/training 3) reasonable implementation and ongoing cost.
Our vision was to have our sales team be able to develop quotes “live” in front of customers using tablets/ipads mirrored on large TVs. Additionally, our long-term vision is to allow customers to refine their own quotes using a web portal interface. Therefore, an intuitive user interface was the most critical criteria to our CPQ system as many users may not be extremely tech-savvy. Vendavo has certainly delivered as initial training took less than 1 hour for our sales team to understand the basics to quote. Customers love the pricing transparency and ability to make their own option selections with the “live quote” process using tablets mirrored on large TVs.
We chose a hybrid implementation strategy (combination of admin training, self-implementation, and Vendavo implementation) primarily due to value and long-term self-management. We are a small company and do not have dedicated programmers for implementation. Even with a complex product with many selections, the Vendavo CPQ admin interface and programming was easy enough to implement most of the system on our own. Our Project Manager was outstanding in teaching the system rather than just “taking the wheel.”
In the 6 months since launch, we have only scratched the surface of possibilities with Vendavo CPQ and continue to add new features to improve system.
