**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I like that OnBoard is user friendly and intuitive.  I have also had good luck with their customer service.  They're very easy to contact and knowledgeable.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

It's not really OnBoard's fault, but some of the features - like AI minutes - aren't quite right for our board because we mostly meet in person.  I feel like we could take advantage of a lot more tools if we met remotely.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the directory in OnBoard for Board Members to easily access all necessary documents has been very helpful. We’re also using much less paper since we no longer need to print every document for each meeting. In addition, OnBoard makes it much easier for Board Members who prefer to join meetings online, keeping everyone connected and informed.

The visibility and transparency I, as the CEO, can provide my board members in a functional, user friendly format in a consolidated workspace designated for our organization. We use the Resource section extensively for historical documents, board and committee meeting minutes, financials, tax and audit materials, etc. The meeting book building function saves us significant time in preparation for board and committee meetings and enables us to share agendas and documents days in advance.

I love the software. My challenges are in board member adoption as the advantage of having a designated virtual workspace separate from my board members' company resources cuts both ways.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Sharing confidential information securely and without the use of emails. We can invite users to meetings efficiently, add to meetings then publish when ready. The Board book is also quite efficient. Implementation and training was a snap. We use it every week to publish important information. Agendas can be downloaded and admin restrictions work. Easy to integrate into operations. We have not had to rely on customer support.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

You can't select multiple files to move from one location in OnBoard to another. This one improvement could make a big difference.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved the problem of confidentiality with Board papers. We didn't have to worry about sending information via emails and where the Board papers ended up.  Also, once uploaded, information could be made available to all relevant users. Online votes and approvals at the convenience of directors and committee members and the voting information auditable is a great plus.

OnBoard is great at distributing meeting materials ahead of your meeting making it a quick start to the meeting, and the fact that it is HIPAA compliant makes me feel comfortable in releasing those materials ahead of time.

I still agree with my previous response. The announcement page is lacking.. and it would be nice if there was a feature that could create an unnumbered agenda and or documents that you could share with non-board members such as residents since they aren’t privy to the full board packet

Our Board loves the OnBoard App and asked to keep using it.  It is a one stop shop; everything they need they can find on the App.  As an administrator, I find the App to be very user friendly and a great tool for communication.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

OnBoard is a wonderfully user and admin friendly.  Introducing and training my board members was easy and OnBoard provided lots of support and extra care to assist with the transition.  The software allows greater collaboration among staff for building content.  The Google calendar integration makes scheduling a breeze.  The minute builder function has allowed us to streamline the process while ensuring consistent submissions.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I wish the mobile version allowed for admin use.  There have been times I'd like to publish a meeting while on the road and was unable to.  Also, I wish there was a way to share meetings without having to officially "invite" someone.  Our board has a fiduciary duty and should have all the information from each meeting.  Sharing that information is challenging the way the system is currently designed.

Collaboration, efficiency, organization, 

Compared to our last software, my time in the system is more than halved.  The level of efficiency and organization frees up time for me to work on other things.  The ability to collaborate gives others agency and autonomy.

The agenda creation and tracking during meetings is fabulous. Staying ahead of the red line has become a bit of a sport among the board members.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

The updating or adding members feature seems to generate a new calendar notice. And that seems to reset the RSVP function. So, folks that already said they are attending now go back to a no response situation.

It is not solving a problem, per se. it is making us better.

It's both user and admin friendly. Our board members found the interface to be easy to navigate, which is very important to us.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

The permissions settings are great, but as an admin you do have to be conscious that you basically have to set up permissions for everything you add to OnBoard. It takes time to get used to this.

We previously did not have a central hub for board members to access meeting documents, past and present. We were sending everything out via email.  We needed a solution that would allow us to build a document repository with easy access for our members, while at the same time housing meeting information and gradually allowing us to move away from printing so many board meeting documents. OnBoard is enabling us to do all those things.

I really like the ability to have a resources library, and to give permissions for various staff/board members to see the resources.  I love the statistics that shows who has opened the materials for the meetings, and how easy it is to post the agenda on our website.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

The agenda is fairly structured, and sometimes isn't as easy to manipulate.  I would love some way to be able to fit to one page, or more flexibility on the way it looks once it is printed.

We were using sharepoint, so this allows all the board to feel they have more professional ownership, instead of a bunch of excel and word docs.

OnBoard is simple to use from both an administrator and user standpoint. Permissions ensure the right people see the right information and security is granular. Votes can be accomplished easily between meetings if needed. Quick updates when new material is added and the ability to view if offline are helpful.  Navigation is easy to use and still provides details needed to make the meeting proceed on schedule.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I dont have complaints. Occassionally there is an issue - customer support has been very responsive and has resolved my issue quickly and efficiently.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Securely provide meeting material. Resource center for items the Board may need to refer back to, such as past, approved minutes or policies. Being easy to use with quick updates is extremely important, for our users are mostly farmers/ranchers who do not spend days on computers like business professionals.

Easy to create agenda, communicate with directors, and organize information. The calendar features work seamlessly. Customer support is fantastic - they're responsive, knowledgeable, and solution oriented. OnBoard was extremely hands on wiht the implementation process. They were flexible in scheduling training sessions for me, my team, and the Directors.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I wish the Zoom feature with OnBoard worked a little better. It can be used, but we have found the sound doesn't work when you click "Zoom through OnBoard", it does work when you click "Open with Zoom" so not a total loss.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

OnBoard is an intuitive program. It's easy to create meetings, assign different levels of access to various members/groups, create agendas and add documents to said agendas. It is easy to utilize the messenger within the portal to provide secure updates to team members. It is easy to manage and create new Resource Folders. The OnBoard Academy is a great tool for familiarizing yourself with various features within the portal if you are just starting out with the program. 
I think one of of my favorite features is the ability to duplicate meetings and surveys/questionnaires, as this is a huge time saver.  While I have not utilized the portal from a mobile device as an administrator I would imagine having access to the portal while on the go would be really convenient. The OnBoard support team is extremely responsive, usually responding to inquiries within the same business day.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I have only encountered a couple of hic-ups with this software. The first was a glitch with the program and I was not able to update one of my board books immediately as I would normally. The other was when a team member with reader access was trying to view an Excel document from a resource folder. They were using an Apple product and the Excel document was not opening properly, but rather converted to a PDF as they did not have the Excel app downloaded on their device. I am personally not an Apple user, but I would expect whatever the equivalent app is to Excel should have been the default and they should have been able to access the spreadsheet. This was a minor inconvenience, which we were able to work around, plus the support team responded to my inquiry within the hour which I found to be very impressive.

I believe that OnBoard helps deliver information pertaining to our business in a seamless manner. Meeting books are created quickly and made available to team members for review and comment. I think having a built in annotation tool would be a huge help when reviewing materials and preparing for upcoming meetings.

I work with a half dozen groups. The OnBoard software has made this manageable, weather I am building an agenda or archiving important records.
The quality of the service I receive from OnBoard staff has been professional, courteous, and efficient.

I would like some of the add on features at a lower price point.

OnBoard has streamlined meeting creation with tools such as duplicating meetings, drag-and-drop both PDF and Word files, agenda import, and user-friendly agenda customization.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

It would be better if there was a streamlined way to add past meeting books to the resources section. That's where the meeting archive is collected after being downloaded and imported from the previous board software. As it is, meeting history is divided in two locations. There is also no ideal way to search through the content of past meetings.

The ease of uploading important documents into the resources area has been a life saver. All Committees have their own resource folder for agendas, minutes, necessary policies and other documents.

The meeting agenda timekeeper line is very helpful to keep the Board on track and on time; something we've struggled with in the past.

Customer support has been quick, clear, and consistent.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Nothing I dislike, but I do wish as an admin that I had the ability to change a member's RSVP status. I've just asked for a global administrator account, so perhaps that might solve the (very small) issue.

OnBoard has been a great resource for our board.  It has been a slow uptake by some, but they are using it more now than ever before.  The collaborative functions have been very helpful as we grow our international teams and develop deeper risk management.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Some directors prefer not to use portals.  This can exclude them from vital information sharing and resources that are stored on OnBoard.  It also requires extra steps for me to share that infomration with them.

It provides a collaborative space with which users can engage as their time allows.  With near 40 users, finding time to meet together, even in smaller groups, is tough.  OnBoard allows those users to work when and how they need, while maintaining their busy schedules.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

OnBoard’s management software has made board meeting setup incredibly efficient and stress-free. Building agendas is simple and intuitive, with drag-and-drop features and easy formatting tools that save time and keep everything organized. Myself and the Executive team uses it every week, it's certainly easy to implement on daily use, and the ease of integration was great because of the support we received from our OnBoard representatives, Courtney F. and Chelsey R.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Some Board members who are less comfortable with technology had trouble adapting to OnBoard and needed a bit of extra support during the early stages of adoption.

It helps keep us organized with all Board meetings including sub-committees in one platform. It makes it easier for myself to take notes, build meeting packets, and collaborate with my team members.

Onboarding becomes jubiliantly easy. Management across teams carry very easy process and APIs were easy to incorporate. Support has been fast and detailed. Frequency of features used on daily basis has improved high across department. Infrastructure team was baffled with quick n easy integration.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I recently took over the administration of our school's OnBoard account, and with little outside guidance, was able to walk thorugh the online tutorials and learn how to use the website. It truly is an intuitive interface.  
I most appreciate how easy it is to create initial meetings and then copy them, much like a template, for use in creating other meetings.  This feature decreases the amount of duplicative work involved.  I also like how easy it is to share with board members, especially ones who are less tech savvy.  I highly recommend this product.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I found it misleading that you can label someone as an administrator, but adding that label doesn't make them the actual administrator.  You have to call in to make that change.  Once the issue was discovered, the team at OnBoard was quick to help get our account straightened out.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The use of this sofware keeps all important documents in one space, readily available for any of the members to access at their convenience, multiple times if needed.  It prevents excessive copying, mailing, emailing, and duplicating communication.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

The OnBoard software makes compiling information for Board meetings simple. A huge change from photocopying and makes changes to specific reports much easier. Drag and drop files into the agenda items as needed and I can't stress enough how easy it is to move agenda items around or to add or delete items as you are putting together materials. Multi users allow anyone that has to had materials to do and exclusion features allow items to only be viewed by those designated people.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Sometimes when Directors click on the book, there is no way for them to get out of it without closing down and restarting. Also, typing minutes in can be somewhat cumbersome and does not allow for much formating.

It has been wonderful! We no longer photocopy for all. We only make a few copies in case Directors don't bring/forget their tablet. Allows for us to send out materials without size limitations and security log in issues.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Our Board members have a wide range of tech-savvy abilities and all can easily use On Board for meetings. On the administrative side, it is easy to load documents, schedule meetings, and send notices. The administrative tools are user-friendly, easy to navigate, and, more importantly, easy to teach. The software has greatly enhanced our Board experience for all parties and is used monthly by most committees and working groups. Anytime an administrative user has a question, our customer success manager is available with quick assistance.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Taking minutes in On Board does not work for our institution as we use certain formats and templates. We have found that taking minutes via On Board results in double the work of retyping them into our templates. We have chosen not to use this feature. We would love for On Board to consider having customized minute templates for future software enhancements.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the probelm of sending hard copies of Board materials for meetings. On Board allows for all meeting materials to be available in one spot, as well having access to archived documents from previous meetings. Board members have access to not only materials for their committees and working groups but those of others as well. It helps create a broad overview of the Board as a whole as opposed to siloed committees.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

OnBoard provides a reliable and consistent experience for administrators and board members. We use OnBoard for all of our board and board committee meetings. For administrators and content creators, OnBoard makes it easy to import an agenda from a simple template. The integration with Office 365 and Zoom provide a sense of familiarity and allow for easy file development, sharing meeting invitations, and broadcasting meetings. Taking attendance and minutes directly within the agenda is such a welcome feature! Integrated signature collection is another frequently used feature that has been extremely helpful. The permission controls are rock solid! 
Trustees are easily acclimated to OnBoard's features. The FAQ and other helps provide easy resources to teach and learn the software. Being able to access the meeting documents on a phone, tablet or computer has eliminated our need for printed books and allowed for simple navigation, reference and updating.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

One challenge has been that OnBoard doesn't always behave as expected. Sometimes when too many users are in a meeting, it crashes for some or doesn't save all edits when two people are editing simultaneously. Its hard to reproduce these experiences, but they do happen from time to time. The agenda building feature is limiting for complex agendas. 
OnBoard has so many features, it is hard to master them all. This isn't a big negative, but is frustrating when I hear about a cool feature, but struggle to implement it without significant effort.

OnBoard has helped us move all of our files from paper to electronic. It is wonderful not needing to print books for our trustees and it makes meetings much more efficient. Record keeping from signed resolutions to minutes has improved dramatically.

The ease of use with the system is fantastic. This is as user friendly as it gets! I have been able to OnBoard new users seemlessly because of all the helpful tools, articles, and videos available. Their customer support team is outstanding and work quickly to address all issues. Whether you use it every day or three times per year, the system is not hard to navigate.

One feature that could be improved is allowing the user to download the board book when they click on open book. Currently, you have to close the screen and can only download from the downloads button. Wished some of the add ons came as part of the system already especially skils tracking.

Getting all of our board resources, meetings, directory, messages, etc. into one place that everyone can find has been HUGE. Their support team has been fantastic and is highly responsive when we've had an issue or a question. The help center with videos and recordings has been used MANY times.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I would love to see some feature tweaks. The Microsoft Office integration doesn't work as well as I hoped. It's a bit confusing and misses features, so I end up downloading the files, making edits, and re-uploading them to OnBoard. Would also like to see a better way to reschedule recurring meetings.

Getting all of our files (resources) in one place has been huge for our board so everyone can find things without having to dig through emails or asking me to re-send them. Having all the meetings in one place has also been very helpful for everyone to track. The automated meeting reminders really help with that too. Digital Meeting Books have a high engagement of use - I think more people are viewing the materials earlier.

I loved this software for the ability to house everything in once place. It's a great way to keep historical documents that members can use at their convience. I also liked the ability for our board members to engage with one another. Our old system was very outdated and didn't allow for any collaboration. The ease of use was ideal for our group.

So far, there haven't been many issues. There are a few features that need some time to get used to. I don't always update the user capabilities before each meeting.

It allows us to house everything in an easy to access space. Previously we were using a ton of different forms of communication for our meetings. This is a one stop shop. It also allows us to store historical data. Futhermore, it offers features that we hadn't used in the past, or ones that we had done differently. We are now able to take polls, mark up documents, track meetings and take minutes with ease. It eliminates all the additional sources we were using.

The thing I feel that I like best so far about OnBoard, is the platform it provides for us to put important information out to our Directors that can be found in one place. We have the ability to keep it well organized and up to date.  The ability to really personalize it to for our peers is exciting too! We were able to implement to our peers with little to no difficulties. So far the integration process has been vastly easy for myself as an administrator.

Honestly, I have not found anything that I dislike about my OnBoard Board Management Software experience as of yet. I was able to maneuver more efficiently through our first meeting and that means everything. It is refreshing to know that they listen to your concerns and have already made changes to the dashboard due to others input.

I do think the layout of the site makes a lot of sense -- I've been able to lay out agendas, organize the board members, and create rolling documents and spreadsheets in resources. There are a great number of features and I think it has a lot of potential should we choose to work more in it. I've run 2 meetings straight out of the Zoom and that integration also works very well.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

This is less an issue with OnBoard itself, more with our board members, but we've just had trouble getting folks on our board onto the software. When we had our Assistant Dean get on, she said that maybe the whole "temporary password" situaton may be difficult, particularly for board members that don't know how the copy-paste function works.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I haven't been keyed into much of our board happenings prior to our use of OnBoard, but I think our main use case is getting all board communication into 1 channel (maybe 2 if we include the email lists). Unfortunately we still aren't getting everyone on the software -- we just finished our big board meeting where we can hopefully send the remaining invites out and get our 75% mark. (Note below, regarding the questions around pricing, I'm unaware of how much our package cost as that decision was made over me. So I noted NA).

The amount in which you can do and have your board engaged is staggering. You can have them vote, see who opens materials, have them watch videos, download packets; the list goes on!

I would like a feature that would help my board look at and help sign up to conferences. My board is wanting to be more involved and a one stop shop (that i could help set up) to where they can look at all the conferences they can attend and then click a link to help sign up would be great.

The ease of retrieving the board packets, The constant updates, the notification system, and having it a great interface. All 4 of these items i did not have with my previous board portal. It felt like they just gave up on the system back in 2015 but not onboard. When implemented back in January, I was showered with praise because of these four items.

The action feature is very useful for completing a straightforward, confidential, and compliant e-vote for our board and committees. 
The meeting minutes builder in conjunction with the agenda upload is very useful and has been a tremendous help in capturing minutes appropriately and then providing easy access to the minutes. Also, the approval flow included is very effective. 
Meeting scheduling is also a nice feature that allows all meetings to be seen in one space. 

The new landing page interface is very nice and I love that you can see important upcoming meetings and action items.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

My calendar integration several times has been disconnected without me being aware so calendar invitations are not created without me knowing it. 

Certain areas I would like to attach things is not available. 

Not being able to edit a profile email is very troublesome at times. I wish there was a way the email was not the account ID, which causes only the account owner to make a change to the email address in the system.

Having a centralized location for all board needs and documents. Having an app for mobile devices is also very beneficial and helpful to our board members.

Of the 3 we tested, our Directors found OnBoard to be the best choice for intuitive ease of use which has led to universal adoption and use by the Directors themselves. The integration with other software we use, as well as its internal integration between actions taken and agenda items has also been very helpful.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

One thing that OnBoard did not have when we made the decision was AI functionality around minutes taking. Even though one other company did offer that, and even though we really wanted that as well, the Dircetors chose OnBoard anyway due to the superiority of functionality in all other respects.  Thankfully, now we have recently learned that OnBoard is also rolling out AI functionality for minutes taking, so we are especially pleased.

From the instant I inquired about OnBoard to my transition meeting yesterday with Kaitlyn, OnBoard has far exceeded our expectations. The ease of use, the training, the support at each level, the bells and whistles offered at each level, the app + desktop experience - I have not had one encounter with OnBoard and its people that hasn't been a 10/10. In just the two months we've been working with the system, our Board's communication and efficiency have skyrocketed exponentially. I initially tried to ease our members into this, thinking they needed a longer runway to get adapted. After the first introduction, the Board immediately began asking for more access to various features and wanted to communicate via OnBoard exclusively. A game changer, indeed.

Nothing. I can't think of one thing that I would change or ask to improve about the Software or the people I've encountered. I am immensely grateful for this company!

There is nothing I do not like about OnBoard, I think my only frustration with it is I don't feel training was as in debth as it should have been or as long as it should have been, but OnBoard itself I highly recommend.

We are able to keep our board calendar updated, schedule meetings, build and prepare board presentations. It is so much quicker than the method we used before and having everything in one place for the board meetings, approving board minutes, sending monthly board reports. **What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I can use this software on my phone, laptop, tablet from anywere there is an internet connection. And when I can't connect to the internet, I can still view board agendas and attachments! I can also make notes on the attachments ;-)

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Five years ago, I would have said it needed to integrate with Zoom, but they've even figured that out. One thing that does need attention is spreadsheets. They don't show well, unless you make them a PDF. They get split up and numbers are on different pages.

**Recommendations to others considering OnBoard Board Management Software:**

Try it for a few months and see if you like it.  The staff is very friendly, and will assist you and your Board volunteers.

This software helps us keep the board conversations and handouts private. It also has the board engaged more, I see the board members approving the minurtes before the board meetings.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

It is so user friendly on the board and administrator side.  The board members love that the portal is accessible from any of their devices.  Unsolicited, users always tell me how much they love it and how efficient it is to have all of the meeting materials and resources in one place!

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

There are so many positives with using OnBoard, that there is nothing that comes to mind that I dislike about it.

**Recommendations to others considering OnBoard Board Management Software:**

Don't look any further into any other board management software!

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Board materials no longer need to be compiled into one pdf and emailed to the board.  Everything can just be uploaded to either the board meeting book or the resource folder. OnBoard is so much more efficient for our board members because, with the app or desktop, they literally have all the board materials and resources available at their fingertips.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

OnBoard is intuitive for admins and easy to use for directors and staff. They provide detailed video and screen-shotted step-by-step instructions for every task and feature. We didn't even need their great implementation service - it was just that easy. The product is designed for mobile device users, unlike others we have tried. Customer support for both admins and users is prompt and easy to follow.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

It makes my job look too easy! But I would like to see the ability to add a custom cover page to my books.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We went to board management software to get our board and corporate materials off our dedicated server so they can be accessed anywhere on any device. We tried another product that proved cumbersome for both admins and end users, and which was not designed for mobile devices. OnBoard achieves our first objective with a very smooth experience for both admins and users.

Convient one-stop place for board materials, meetings and updates.  "Onboarding" is fabulous! Customer support and webinars are always available.  An especially useful tool for virtual meetings.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Fairly intuitive, though some non-techy board members (and staff) require more frequent reminders of the benefits.

Ability to have all board infomration in one place with the ability to update and/or have board members provide thier input.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

We were originally interested in OnBoard for the many features it offered and the incredible user interface/experience. After selecting the product, we were even more impressed with the ease of implementation from our old software and the features that we didn't even know about. The team helped us seamlessly onboard to OnBoard in a matter of a few weeks, offering multiple trainings for all of our different user types. As the administrator, I am constantly in the platform and have not been disappointed to date.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

There are some unique ways that OnBoard has designed some of the features that feel limiting at first but just take some time to adjusting to (e.g., the timing for agenda items).

A highly engaged Board of Trustees is critical to our work and one of the ways to do this is through our board software.
