What do you like best about Neon CRM?

Neon CRM feels like it was built by people who get nonprofit work. I love how everything is in one place, donor records, event registrations, email campaigns, reports, and it's all easy to navigate. The automation tools have saved us so much time, especially with donor thank-you emails and recurring giving. I also really appreciate the customization options; I can tweak fields, reports, and workflows to fit the way our organization operates. What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

There’s a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, especially if you’re transitioning from a simpler system or spreadsheets. Some of the customization options can feel a little overwhelming until you get the hang of it. I also wish a few of the reports were a bit more intuitive right out of the box. I’ve had to play around with filters and settings to get what I need. That said, the support team and knowledge base are super helpful, and once you get comfortable, it’s a really powerful tool. "Dynamic, Well-Designed System That Keeps Surprising Me"
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

I still consider myself a relatively new client and I am still learning, and as I continue to get to know the system better and better, I keep finding new ways that are already in the system that I can use to my benefit and advantage. The whole system seems to be very well thought out. It seems like they really looked at the needs of many clients with many different needs and they are focused on accommodating all of them! What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

I am a relatively new user and I haven't found much I don't like at this point. Sometimes I don't feel like I can see the bigger picture of everything the system can do. One thing that has been a little challenging is when I am filling out a form and there is a drop down, sometimes there is nothing in the drop down, so I know I need to add things to the drop down, but I have to do some searching to find out where I can add those items. It's not very intuitive and it does not tell me where I need to go to add those items in. I can usually find them, though. It just takes some time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive Association Management"
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

I have been using Neon since late 2019 for our 501(c)(6) small national organization. The implementation process was excellent, and I felt like our rep was responsive and knowledgeable. Additionally, when we have had issues or questions, either our rep or the ticketing system has always been there!

My absolute favorite feature is the robust reporting. You can build your own reports, including MANY parameters to search by and which data are included in the output. You can save reports and schedule them to be delivered to you or someone else. You can publish them (password protected or not) to a URL, which has allowed me to build custom reports for different committees, then give them access to the reports, so I don't have to pull the report, download it, then email it to the committee chairs every time they'd like to check in on how their committee is doing. Huge time saver!

The other huge time saver is Workflows. I mean, WOW. We use these automations to approve or deny membership applications, assign regions, and send automated new member notifications to those who need to know.

The event registration feature has been very helpful, we love the Account Notes feature, and it's been amazing to send out a survey whose responses fill members' profiles! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

We're having some trouble with "duplicate accounts," as a Company account and an Individual account is created for every member. This causes difficulty for the members (when they login to the "wrong" account, they do not have an active membership), as well as obfuscating how long someone has been a member, as they might renew on the Individual account one year and the Company account the next, so complete membership records are divided between two accounts. We have determined most of the problem, but part of it is that the renewal funnel is confusing to members, so they will add themselves as a sub-member, which creates the duplicate Individual account.

You cannot (1) send invoices for members to pay within NeonCRM, so we are using a 3rd-party solution for that. Nor can you (2) make a credit card surcharge mandatory. It's just not an option. We also wish we could (3) use the new events module, but we are "stuck" on the "legacy events" because it makes zero fiscal sense for us to switch to NeonPay (WAY more expensive than our current processor, even if without surcharging), but I feel like we are missing out on features and that Neon is trying to strong-arm or nickle-and-dime ($199 monthly 3rd-party processor fee) us into switching to NeonPay. "Efficient CRM with Stellar Support, but Complex Setup"
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

I really appreciate Neon CRM's customer support. It's been great, especially because I found it quite challenging to learn the system. The fast response from their support team has been a huge help. I also like the reports generated by Neon CRM. They are great for running sponsorship reports and member reports, which help us keep track of what's working and what's not, as well as catch up with sponsors before their renewal period. I found it quite challenging to learn the system. Setting up the reports is not super intuitive and challenging to understand at times. It's quite confusing to navigate. Setting things up is not easy. Knowing when to use the global settings is challenging. Things are not always where you would expect them to be, and the workflow can feel a bit fragmented. "Streamlined CRM with Room for Improvement"
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

I love how Neon CRM is streamlined to help utilize my time better. Despite just starting to use it, I already feel pretty confident and excited to delve deeper into the system. I look forward to getting it really humming and discovering its full potential. Having one platform to manage almost all aspects of operating the organization, including expense tracing through QuickBooks, is incredibly efficient. I currently have an issue with membership tracking in Neon CRM. Some contacts' memberships are not appearing in the system, even when patrons have shown proof of their membership. What do you like best about Neon CRM?

Neon CRM offers a robust suite of tools and integrations that make it efficient to use instead of having to login to multiple separate software. Plus, their customer service is top notch! What do you like best about Neon CRM?

Our association is an army of one full-time employee and two part-time. The two part-timers are the one who uses Neon. Neon CRM has made it decently easy to do events, donations and membership. We do pay for the tech support, which has been totally worth it. I would highly recommend paying for that option, even if only for a year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

The downsides are, as a small association, I can't implement everything I want to because there's not enough time. I think there are so many bells and whistles in the reporting elements, it makes it tough to understand, especially with the if/then statements required. What do you like best about Neon CRM?

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

The biggest issue is the new donor and event forms don't support multiple pricing on tickets to events, such as at a banquet when we sell tables for 8 or 10 guests and at different pricing levels. I have to use the Legacy forms which are much more cumbersome to work with. Also some of the reports and linked reports don't work right. For example, if I click on the number of donations within the Fundraiser page, that hotlink lists everyone who donated to at fundraiser, but in real-time, NOT just what they donated to that particular fund; this is not helpful at all. The data needed is specific to what they donated and when to THAT fundraiser. I also think the shade of grey that is used on the internal tabs is way too light colored and should be darker. I don't even notice there there are tabs because it is so light! Twice now, I've contacted support when I've gone back to see tabs that are just very pale grey words, not even a tab-like graphic to make it look like tabs. It should be darker.
