Onboarding software coordinates the onboarding process of new employees while simplifying the administrative work necessary for the hiring manager. The best onboarding software eases the transition of new hires into their roles, streamlining the process by eliminating paperwork and consolidating it into one unified system. Onboarding software supports the initiation of communication between the new hire and the employer before the start date. This enables the employee to be more productive sooner and integrate into their team quicker. It also allows both the employee and hiring manager to track paperwork and training progress.

HR organizations that leverage onboarding software can help decrease the instances of turnover within an employee’s first year. Some onboarding software providers offer features beyond onboarding forms management and templates. They might help users create personalized workflows, provide new hire welcome portals, or connect new hires to employees across the company to initiate engagement.
