How incredibly responsive and helpful Komal is which has really made our work so much easier because we are not waiting for responses for long periods of time.

I would highly recommend others work with Komal and SmartBug if they are looking for excellent customer service and results. We came in with a lot of questions and bad habits and Komal has put everyone not only on the right track but the same track. We are learning more about our company and what we are capable of because of Komal.

Our company is using SmartBug Media to solve connection issues with HubSpot. We have been working with Komal Thakur, and she has been extremely helpful and patient with our entire team. SmartBug’s team is incredibly knowledgeable, organized, and supportive. Their structured approach to onboarding made a complex process feel manageable and even empowering. Komal, in particular, was fantastic—always prepared, responsive, and able to tailor everything to our business needs. The level of expertise and clarity they bring is unmatched.

There weren’t any major downsides during our experience, but as with any onboarding process, certain steps felt fast-paced at times. Having a bit more flexibility in scheduling working sessions could help teams absorb the material more fully. That said, the team was always willing to adjust when we asked.

**What problems is SmartBug Media solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with Komal during our HubSpot onboarding was an absolute pleasure. From day one, she brought clarity, structure, and a genuinely collaborative spirit to every step of the process. Her deep knowledge of HubSpot, paired with her ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and actionable way, made all the difference as we built out our CRM from the ground up. I trust SmartBugs account management to keep us on the right track and they’ve helped increase the return on our investment. Jake and Matt were very accommodating to work synergistically with our local team for optimal outcomes.  Jake impressed me with his excellent communication skills, foresight and knowledge of how to best help his customers.

I chose to meet regularly with our assigned reps. I highly recommend that!  There are definitively geographical differences affecting  optimal keyword selections and the reps need your input to incorporate your areas common language used. 
Be patient, contribute and you’ll see the  results.

Our SmartBug Rep Jake La V. Is very thorough and intuitive. He has offered many suggestions to increase our Google impression share and has improved our cost per click while offering many suggestions to successfully increase our click through rate.

**What do you like best about SmartBug Media?**

What I appreciate most about SmartBug are the people I have had the chance to work with. The vast majority were both extremely competent, passionate about their work, and rich in varied experiences. They are accessible, positive, and pleasant professionals, with whom it is easy to collaborate and exchange ideas. I also like the fact that SmartBug has solid internal expertise, while having the humility and intelligence to rely on partners when it is not their area of specialty. This transparency and ability to recognize their strengths as well as their limits enhance trust and the quality of collaboration.

**What do you dislike about SmartBug Media?**

SmartBug is a team very action and results-oriented, which is a great strength. Sometimes, for a client looking for a very detailed framework or more structured support, the methodology could be further specified. However, this has never harmed the quality of the deliverables or the results achieved.

**What problems is SmartBug Media solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have collaborated with SmartBug twice, in two different companies. Each time, they truly positioned themselves as the natural extension of our marketing team. In both cases, we were using HubSpot, and they brought in-depth expertise of the platform, going well beyond what we had internally. Their strategic vision perfectly complemented ours, thanks to their exposure to many companies in our sector and the rich and relevant experience of their team members.

The collaboration has always been smooth and pleasant, notably due to their responsiveness and willingness to quickly resolve both simple problems and more complex issues. The team becomes a true extension of our internal team. Viole, our strategist, took ownership of every project with a strategic lens, while Kate executed with precision and adaptability. SmartBug doesn't just "do what you ask"—they bring insights, challenge assumptions, and offer solutions that are always aligned to the bigger business picture. Their consistency, responsiveness, and collaborative spirit made a big impact on our marketing success.

Honestly, very little. If anything, some of the internal systems (teamwork ticketing systems and switching to Google Meet for calls) required a little acclimation time, but once we were in rhythm, everything ran smoothly. Any early kinks were minor and resolved quickly with open communication.

The team is very collaborative--we determine priorities and pathways together. They are able to provide solutions and answer questions quickly. In addition, they have been very flexible and supportive as we have had to work through some internal roadblocks.

I honestly haven't found a downside yet. They are very transparent about options and pricing. I never feel like I'm being "sold" or pressured. And the service they provide has allowed us to move forward much more quickly than before.

Finding a partner that "fits" is the key to success. SmartBug has been the perfect fit for our team and the way we work. I appreciate their communication, production and creativity. The only negative I can say about Smartbug is the change in team members. I've been with Smartbug for many years now and have had a decent amount of change on my account. I see this change as a positive as my past Smartbug teams have all grown in their careers and continue to get promoted, moved to bigger accounts or take time for their personal journeys! Kudos to Smartbug for accelerating their employees and investing in their personal growth!

The support! Our team at SmartBug is constantly checking in and helping with all of our marketing needs. We meet every 2 weeks in order to maintain a clear goal and align on the proper deliverables.

The only downside is that we don't have as many leads as we were originally told we would have. However, this is due to a change in personnel and we are plowing ahead now.

If you need paid ads, SEO or GEO, Smarbug is the place to go. They have a total solution for all marketing areas and they have many resources available to execute a marketing plan.

We use SmartBug in for paid media as we need leads coming in through ads in order to help with our sales. They have been providing an increasing number of leads every week and refining the quality of those leads which have in turn led to sales!

The true value is that SBM is willing to work with  you to customize a scope of work to fit your needs. Our marketing team is segmented into multiple sub-teams who support different areas of the business. SBM worked with us to incorporate everyone's specific use case into one project, having separate calls and project tracking for each sub team, while still supporting us a whole and keeping our efforts aligned. We always struggle to find this ability in vendors we work with so this is a huge plus.

There were a few times throughout our process working with them where we questioned if we were being pushed towards something (adding more hours, purchasing a new Hub) because it was truly needed or because it would bring in more revenue for SBM. However when we wanted to reduce our hours and cut down on the support we were receiving, there was no question and our team worked with us to make sure we were getting the most out of those hours.

Ensure you get a good account rep. The person we were assigned at the beginning of our contract was NOT fulfilling our needs. But we pushed back and almost cut ties entirely before being connected with our current rep, Amanda Hurd. She and the team we currently work with have been amazing - smart, always readily available, communicative, and constantly providing value. The more communicative you are with them the more able they are to help you I believe.

Our company onboarded with HubSpot and utilized their advanced onboarding service. Once our 60 days were up, we definitely felt the hole that was left without support and someone to answer random questions. SmartBug has been able to step in and not only save our team a ton of time by building out emails and reports, but also easily provide training, data, resources and research on topics that none of our teammates have time to become experts in. They've worked with us on all of our requests from project management, to HubSpot optimization, to team training, to even expertise to help improve our overall marketing strategy.

We were assigned a specific account rep that was in charge of our migration and would pull in other departments as needed. **What do you like best about SmartBug Media?**

Highly knowledgeable in how to use the CRM/Hubspot

The support team is competent, personable, and friendly.  Really enjoyed our Account Strategist.  Also enjoyed those filling in during absence-they were just stretched.

**What do you dislike about SmartBug Media?**

You pay $7k per month for 40 hrs.  If  3 people from their team join a call ( at their discretion) you are charged for all 3 etc. (those hours rack up quick!) If you ask questions about things not done-they charge hours for multiple people looking into it... (nice luxury as a provider) We signed up for marketing/growth-in  initial calls we shared it was our focus including amount to generate.  Nobody verbalized this was not possible until we questioned lack of results-then were told "the contract says" READ- THE CONTRACT- please don't rely on the people to share their limitations.  Staff is incredibly kind but became VERY STRETCHED for some months (during a leave) and output is minimal compared to cost.  No concessions for their shortcomings-the bottom line was pay for contract. Quality and integrity did not appear to be a motive.  Moving forward, it is a huge lesson learned-read the fine print, look for unsolicited reviews and trust nothing that is not in writing.  We should not have missed that!

**What problems is SmartBug Media solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marketing to increase  lead generation/sales was the sole intent of our contracting.

**What do you like best about SmartBug Media?**

Smartbug knows the ins and outs of the Google search engine extremely well. Our customer service rep is constantly looking at our PPC results to see what modificaitons can to be made for better outcomes. If something isn't working well he will do the legwork to see what needs to be tweaked and run it by us before the change is made. Overall our return on add spend has been great.

**What do you dislike about SmartBug Media?**

As with any business we'd always like to see more leads. Even though Smartbug is doing a great job, we'd appreciate more sales opportunities and customers.

**What problems is SmartBug Media solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SmartBug helps provide our company with customer leads which convert to appointments.
