What do you like best about Procore?

What I like most about Procore is how detailed and thorough the training is. As a student preparing to graduate, I wanted to stay ahead and make myself more marketable to employers, so I decided to start taking Procore courses early. Even though I just began the classes today, I can already see how valuable they are the videos and descriptions are very comprehensive. Even if you don’t remember every detail, the way the material is presented makes it easy to revisit concepts and quickly refresh your memory.

One drawback of Procore is that the level of detail in the courses can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially for beginners. There’s a significant amount of information to absorb, which can make it challenging to retain everything on the first pass. What stands out to me is the level of detail within the platform it’s impressive and leaves little to no room for human error. The built-in chat feature is also very efficient, providing a quick and easy way to communicate with others in real time. Additionally, the notes section is extremely helpful for clarifying any questions or uncertainties that may come up, ensuring nothing is overlooked.

For me, this is especially beneficial as a student preparing to enter the workforce because it gives me exposure to the tools and systems that are actually used in the industry. What do you dislike about Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud)?

I am not satisfied with the design of the field tool in Build, as I find it lacking in user friendliness. From my perspective, there is a lot of potential for improvement, particularly in making the tool easier to use. It is clear that ACC was originally intended for engineers, and now there is an attempt to adapt it for construction or installation workers with the field tool in Build. However, the current design and layout still fall short of what is needed. I strongly believe that working closely with a user experience (UX) group could help make the field tool more intuitive and accessible for those who will actually be using it on the job. What do you like best about Handoff?

Handoff is a tool I didn't know how much I would love until I started using it every single day for multiple projects. This software is built for the residential contractor, but all of my work is commercial and it works just as well. A lot of AI completely removes the human aspect and ability to contribute in an autonomous way. With Handoff, I can proactively work with the software to generate desired outcomes and shape my estimates the way I used to do them in an excel spreadsheet.

Handoff saves time, provides access to professional templates, and for me, has been a great education tool. When creating cost analysis reports or scope of work documents, it's unusually thought provoking. It has challenged me to be aware of every cost, big and small, that a task or scope of work requires.

Paired with the manual input from performing my takeoffs, I know I am providing clients accurate, competitive pricing with as little or as much detail as I feel necessary.

One of the cooler, less utilized components of Handoff, is what I call the "digital library." It possesses the unique ability to function like a warehouse for data. What do you dislike about Handoff?

Even though this is true of any system you want to use consistently and accurately, I still dislike the amount of work on the back end involved. It takes forever, but it's definitely worth it.

Handoff is not always as attentive to details as I would like it to be. It does miss details or miscalculate quantities when reviewing drawings. However, this perfectly exemplifies the need for human diligence and review regardless of how brilliant and automated technology becomes.

The biggest flaw with handoff is the inability to edit some aspects of the templates. I wish I could format things differently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My favorite thing about using GCPay is the customer service! I've been using this software for over 5 years and have never come across an issue that the support team wasn't able to quickly resolve. My biggest complaint with GCPay is not being able to use the "back" button to return to where you were on the screen. For example - if I'm looking at Application for Payment #12 for one of my Subcontractors and I want to go back and view Application for Payment #11, hitting the "back" button takes you back to the main project page and not back to the Subcontractor you were reviewing. GCPay solves the problem of having to look in multiple locations for the project related items you are working on. I really like that you have all Pay Apps, Lien Waivers and Compliance being tracked in the same system. The feature of blocking a Subcontractor's ability to submit an Application for Payment if their compliance expired is so helpful and minimizes risk for our company. What do you like best about JobTread?

What I value most about JobTread is the clarity and structure it brings to my business. It didn’t just give me better software — it forced me to think and operate more intentionally. Having everything centralized (estimates, change orders, job costing, schedules, communication) gave me a clearer picture of where projects actually stood and what decisions I needed to be making.

Another huge upside has been how usable it is with subcontractors. Being able to share scopes, budgets, and expectations in a clean, professional way has helped me lean into a subcontractor-based model and step away from employees. That shift alone helped my business survive some very difficult personal and health-related seasons while still moving forward.

The support and onboarding also stand out. The team didn’t just answer questions — they made sure I actually implemented the system and used it correctly. That accountability was pivotal early on and made the difference between owning software and truly running my business through it.

I cannot put enough emphasis on the customer support and the desire to see their clients succeed. I was overwhelmed by the transition into implementing JobTread into our business. They followed up with me and made sure that we had a smooth integration and the support has always been there to ensure we can utilize this everyday in our business. What do you dislike about JobTread?

JobTread is constantly evolving, which is largely a positive, but it can occasionally be challenging to keep up with changes as new features and updates are rolled out. That said, this isn’t due to a lack of training, communication, or access to customer support — those resources are strong — it’s simply the nature of a platform that continues to improve and expand.

One minor functional issue I’ve run into is within invoicing. The total invoice amount is auto-filled in the payment field, and if the actual payment amount isn’t adjusted before submitting, it will apply the invoice as paid in full. At the moment, there isn’t a way to correct that directly, which requires creating a new invoice to fix the mistake. It’s a small thing, but a confirmation step or edit option would help prevent accidental full payments.

What problems is JobTread solving and how is that benefiting you?

JobTread has helped solve the problem of lack of visibility and control across projects. Before using it, it was difficult to quickly see where jobs stood financially, what had been approved, and what still needed action. Now I can track estimates, change orders, invoices, and job costs in one place, which has significantly reduced uncertainty and reactive decision-making.

It’s also helped solve communication breakdowns — both internally and with subcontractors. Having clear scopes, documented changes, and shared expectations has reduced confusion, protected margins, and improved accountability. This has been especially important as I transitioned away from employees and leaned more heavily on a subcontractor-based model.

Another major problem it helped solve was scalability during personal and operational stress. During seasons where my attention had to be divided due to family health issues and business restructuring, JobTread provided enough structure to keep projects moving without everything relying on me being involved in every detail.

Finally, it’s helped solve the issue of inconsistent sales and processes. By running estimates, pricing, and workflows through one system, I’ve been able to sell more consistently, make better decisions, and operate with greater confidence. I love how Togal.AI organizes all our items in one easy-to-access software in the browser, which makes takeoffs effortless and super easy to get started. The features for duplicating items and comparing sheets are fantastic because they make it simple to find discrepancies and changes during Addenda Reviews. This feature saves me so much time by letting me overlay the previous sheet under the new one to easily see and mark any changes, ensuring I don't miss any details. Working from home or any laptop is seamless since Togal.AI works in a browser. The AI aspect really boosts our productivity and ease of workflow. Setting Togal.AI up was super easy; you just configure a few settings on the first takeoff, and it’s smooth sailing from there. Using repeating groups, greatly helps when creating takeoffs on Hotels & Multi Family Housing units that have specific Room Types, as you can create 1 room type and select all the other rooms that have that same tag, and effortlessly get an accurate count instead of manually going through every room and doing the individual takeoff! STACK is very intuitive & user friendly. The various functions are easy to learn & easy to use. I especially like the page that shows you all of the drawing sheets. It allows me to navigate quickly through the sheets I need to work on. I use STACK every day and like it far better than other software I've used. What do you dislike about STACK Takeoff & Estimate?

I'm not very familiar with the estimate function in STACK. I have always used an Excel spreadsheet for my estimate. I find it hard to figure some general condition items like lift rental and travel, per diem & lodging for out of town projects. To me it seems easier to do that portion in my Excel spreadsheet. I would very much like to see the "Multiplier" on the "measure" page to be able to use decimal figures like 2.5 or 3.75. Now we are only allowed to use whole numbers. The biggest business problem STACK solves for me is time. I can do my work much faster using STACK. I work for a general contractor during the day and the estimate for my painting company in the evenings, so being both quick and accurate is a big deal to me. We’ve had a largely positive experience with Acumatica. The platform is reasonably priced, especially given the breadth of functionality it offers. It’s also highly customizable and scalable, which has allowed it to fit the specific needs of our industry and continue to adapt as our organization grows.

A major advantage for our team has been how well Acumatica integrates with Excel and Velixo. Being able to import and export data easily, build reports, and work within a familiar Excel environment has made our financial reporting and analysis much more efficient.

We’ve also found the support team to be responsive and helpful, which matters a lot when implementing new workflows or refining existing ones in a system as robust as an ERP.

What do you like best about Bolster?

Instead of jumping around between Excel and paper notes and a handful of other software's that all don't work together, everything is under one roof. It has made it significantly easier to keep track of everything happening on my different sites with my crews and my subs. I also like the time I have saved by using the templates allowing me to do my quotes much faster, for example a bathroom reno that normally takes a couple hours to quote I can whip out in under 20 minutes. What do you dislike about Bolster?

There aren't really any downsides, the support team is fantastic and they are constantly adding and refining features. I will as an older guy it did take me awhile to get up to speed and get the full Bolster effect, but once I was there and everything was built out, the effort was worth it! What do you like best about Knowify?

Since my original review, Knowify has added so much functionality. They have completely reworked their service module to make it a far more robust experience which truly helps us manage this part of our business. They have added markups to documents, reworked and upgraded project scheduling, and recently added AI features which speed up processes for bills. Knowify continues to have stellar customer service, and speedily respond to customer needs. They are true partners, and are right there to help us when we need things like a customized report. What do you dislike about Knowify?

At the moment, the need to calculate commissions remains a challenge. The most urgent item right now is a desperate need for a service report that shows each comment and image by asset that we can generate on demand to provide to customers when invoicing them. What problems is Knowify solving and how is that benefiting you?

Werx offers excellent Value for Money with a robust suite of tools at a competitive price. A major advantage is its Ease of Use; the intuitive dashboard simplifies Project Management tasks like tracking finances and change orders. Information Access is streamlined through a central dashboard and mobile app, and the responsive Customer Support team adds significant value and confidence for the user. What do you dislike about WERX?

As a newer platform, Werx has some limitations. Its Project Collaboration tools are less developed, which could be a challenge for larger teams with extensive subcontractor communication. The native Time Tracking feature is functional but lacks advanced reporting. What problems is WERX solving and how is that benefiting you?

I had a couple issues on my dashboard that I raised to customer support. They took my call, immediately showed their product team, and fixed it. The error wasn't supposed to be happening. During the call my rep told me the changes they have planned, and the reasons they did things the way they did. It was nice. I appreciate the simplicity of Buildern's setup process, which required minimal implementation time compared to other software we've used, which took weeks or even months. This efficiency has allowed us to become operational swiftly, saving us significant time. Buildern's comprehensive capabilities, from handling everything involved in project management to bid soliciting and cost tracking, have streamlined our operations, making us much more efficient. The software has organized our entire business, drastically reducing the time required for bid solicitation and leveling from a full day to just 30 minutes. The financial insights provided by Buildern for project profitability are exceptionally useful, allowing us to make informed decisions. Overall, Buildern offers the best value among other competitors, with all the necessary features we require, facilitating seamless integration with other tools like QuickBooks. What do you like best about Premier Construction Software?

What do you dislike about Premier Construction Software?

Premier’s PM Module still has some room for growth on the Submittal and RFI side. However, with new features that are coming in the next few months, such as a Guest Portal, will really bring the PM Module to the forefront. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
