"User-Friendly, Fast, and Reliable and with Helpful Tech Support"
What do you like best about GCPay?

The system is very user friendly, it shows you a lot of information regarding what you're missing when submitting applications, the system has never crashed on me and works extremely fast, I had to use the GC Pay support once and they were really helpful to resolve my issues, overall the system is really good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GCPay?

The only thing I would say I dont like is that, even though it's really user friendly, it's very limited on it's capabilities and the "project owner" has a lot of power over the issues, once a draw is closed you cannot change anything and if they close it to close to your submission date you have no way to correct until they decide to open the next one Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from GCPay Team of GCPay

Alejandro, thank you for the great feedback! We are glad GCPay has been fast, reliable, and helpful in keeping your billing organized and payments moving. We will also pass along your kind words to our support team!

We understand the frustration when a draw closes close to your submission window. Those controls are set by the project owner to align with their billing cycle, but if you ever find yourself in a time-sensitive situation, our support team at support@gcpay.com can help facilitate communication to get things resolved quickly.

Thank you for being a GCPay user and for sharing your experience!

"Intuitive UI, Seamless Accounting Integration, and Lightning-Fast Support"
What do you like best about GCPay?

The user interface makes it very to understand what is in front of you. I am new in construction and have been confused by billing in the past but GCPay almost simplifies everything for everything. It also integrates into our accounting software which is also a major plus. The support team is unlike anything I have ever seen, the response time and helpfulness gets you answers almost immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GCPay?

I think if it would send reminder emails about subs submitting invoices, COs, etc it would make it much better. I honestly can't speak much on this yet because I have only used it for one project, so I am still learning where you guys could improve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from GCPay Team of GCPay

Alex, thank you for such an enthusiastic review, especially coming from someone newer to construction billing! We are thrilled GCPay has simplified waivers, integrated smoothly with your accounting software, and that our support team has made such a strong impression. We will absolutely pass along your kind words!

Great news on the reminder emails! GCPay does have automated notifications for subs regarding invoices and compliance, and these are configured on the GC side. Reach out to support@gcpay.com and our team can make sure everything is set up to keep those reminders going.

Thank you for being a GCPay user and welcome aboard!

"GCPay Review from an Accounting/Billing User"
What do you like best about GCPay?

What I like best about GCPay is that it keeps the billing process organized and gives us one place to track pay applications, approvals, lien waivers, and supporting documents. It helps make the status of each billing more visible, so we can see what has been submitted, what is pending, and what still needs to be corrected or approved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GCPay?

What I dislike about GCPay is that it can be a little clunky and not always intuitive. Some information is hard to find quickly, and the process can feel more time-consuming than it should be, especially when trying to review billing details, change information, or track down why something does not match our internal records. I also wish the descriptions, statuses, and error messages were clearer so it was easier to know what needs to be corrected without extra back-and-forth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from GCPay Team of GCPay

Joseph, thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review! We are glad GCPay has brought better visibility and organization to your billing process, reducing the reliance on email threads and spreadsheets across your accounting and project teams.

We appreciate the honest feedback on navigation, billing detail access, and the clarity of status messages and error descriptions. These are all areas we take seriously and will make sure they reach our product team. In the meantime, our support team at support@gcpay.com is always happy to help work through any confusing statuses or discrepancies quickly.

Thank you for sharing such constructive feedback. It genuinely helps us improve!

"Manual Schedule of Values and Limited Support Make GCPay Harder to Use"
What do you like best about GCPay?

I am used to Textura and maybe it's because I am so used to it, but it seems much faster and easier. With GCPay I like that before submitting they ask me if there are any changes we need to make or if there is anything else we need to invoice that is not on the schedule of values Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GCPay?

I don't like that I have to insert the schedule of value myself. Some clients like us to write everything line by line, others like milestone payments. It would be much easier if they enter the line items and we complete. And I wish there was a better integrated way to sign waivers inside GCpay (via Docusign) or something. And sometimes I wish there was a quick chat support or at least an email contact from our client to reach out to. More email notifications would help as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from GCPay Team of GCPay

Ali, thank you for the honest and detailed feedback! We are glad GCPay has helped reduce the back and forth on invoices and waivers, and that the pre-submission check prompts have been a helpful touch.

We hear you on the SOV entry, waiver signing integration, and notification improvements. These are all valuable suggestions we will pass along to our product team. On the SOV specifically, in many cases the GC can enter line items on their end, so it may be worth reaching out to your client or contacting support@gcpay.com to see what options are available in your setup. Our team also offers chat and email support directly.

Thank you for sharing such constructive feedback. It genuinely helps us improve!

"Well‑Designed Features, Opportunities in Onboarding"
What do you like best about GCPay?

1. It enables us to track pay apps, lien waivers, and approvals all on one platform.

2. It doesn't lets the subs submit pay application until all compliance documents have been submitted.

3. Audit trail helps with auditing and tracking changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GCPay?

1. Time consuming to make flexible rules for different subcontractors.

2. Difficult to explain to smaller subs.

3. Approval hierarchies, waiver rules, and compliance logic are locked in early

4. issues with integrating with Sage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from GCPay Team of GCPay

Nirav, thank you for such a thorough review! We are glad GCPay has eliminated the lien waiver chase, made backtracking previous pay apps easy, and reduced your email burden through automated notifications. The compliance gate before submission is one of our favorite features to hear working as intended.

We appreciate the detailed feedback on setup flexibility, smaller sub onboarding, and the Sage integration. These are all areas our product team is actively focused on. Please reach out to support@gcpay.com with specifics on the Sage issues in particular, as our team may be able to help resolve those more directly.

Thank you for sharing such constructive and detailed feedback!

"Outstanding Customer Service That Resolves Issues Fast"
What do you like best about GCPay?

My favorite thing about using GCPay is the customer service! I've been using this software for over 5 years and have never come across an issue that the support team wasn't able to quickly resolve. They are always prompt to respond and have a positive attitude which is something you don't often see when working with customer service representatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GCPay?

My biggest complaint with GCPay is not being able to use the "back" button to return to where you were on the screen. For example - if I'm looking at Application for Payment #12 for one of my Subcontractors and I want to go back and view Application for Payment #11, hitting the "back" button takes you back to the main project page and not back to the Subcontractor you were reviewing. You then have to search that Subcontractor again and go look at the next Application for Payment that you want to review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from GCPay Team of GCPay

Nicole, thank you so much for your continued trust in GCPay over the past five years, that truly means a lot to us! We’re especially grateful for your kind words about our Support team. Providing prompt, positive, and reliable service is something we take great pride in, and it’s wonderful to hear that’s been your experience.

We also appreciate your detailed feedback about the “back” button navigation. That’s a very helpful example, and we understand how that extra searching can interrupt your workflow. We’ll be sure to share this with our product team as we continue refining the user experience.

It’s great to know that having pay apps, lien waivers, and compliance all in one place, along with the compliance-blocking feature, is helping reduce risk and free up your team’s time. That’s exactly the kind of impact we strive to make. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

"Streamlined Invoicing, Effortless Setup"
What do you like best about GCPay?

I work for a subcontractor, and we use GCPay to invoice our customers. GCPay really streamlines the whole process, and we no longer have to use Excel, Word, and Adobe for just one pay application. Everything is in one spot for monthly billing, and it makes it so much easier. I appreciate not having to manually create the pay applications, print everything, go get a signature, just to re-upload all the documents and send them out. There are no surprises as the customer approves your billing line items before you actually bill, and they submit their approval after you invoice, so you aren't still guessing if there were issues with your draw months down the line. The initial setup was extremely easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GCPay?

The notary system isn't the greatest. I'd rather be able to upload my notary stamp and e-sign/stamp right in GCPay rather than print and physically sign or have to connect to an outside notary. I think the supplier waiver system could be a little better as well. The system automatically requests the waivers sometimes prematurely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from GCPay Team of GCPay

Audrie, thank you for sharing this.

It’s great to hear that GCPay has helped replace a very manual process with something much more centralized and efficient. Moving away from juggling Excel, Word, and PDF workflows into one system for pay applications really does simplify monthly billing. It’s also helpful that approvals happen upfront on line items, since that removes a lot of uncertainty and follow-up later in the cycle. Glad to hear the setup process was smooth as well.

On the notarization feedback, that’s a thoughtful point. The current approach is designed to support compliance requirements through either integrated remote notarization or approved external notary workflows, but I can understand the preference for a fully in-platform e-sign and stamp experience. The note about supplier waivers being triggered too early is also helpful, especially if it creates unnecessary steps before billing is ready.

Appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and detailed feedback.

"Streamlined Payment Tracking with GCPay"
What do you like best about GCPay?

I like that the contractors' waivers are here because it helps comply with their requirements, especially since we bill a lot of different contractors and can forget all the specific requirements they have. It's useful that the Statement of Values and all requirements are readily available in GCPay. The homepage is very helpful with all the projects and outstanding items clearly displayed, which shows me the tasks I need to complete to unlock our payments. GCPay is awesome compared to other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GCPay?

Only with some contractors, you cannot submit the billing without a notary. Sometimes our notary is out of the office so I have to remember to log in and submit the billing after the waiver has been uploaded. Maybe let me finish the billing and when the waiver is uploaded it unlocks the billing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from GCPay Team of GCPay

Justin, thank you for sharing this.

It’s great to hear that GCPay is helping you keep track of different contractor requirements and waivers in one place. When you’re working across multiple contractors, having SOVs, compliance items, and billing requirements centralized really does make it easier to stay organized and avoid missing key steps. It’s also good to hear the homepage view is helping you quickly see what still needs attention so payments can move forward.

On the notarization workflow, GCPay does address this through integrated Remote Online Notarization and automated lien waiver management. In many cases, you’re able to complete billing without waiting for an in-office notary by using the embedded Notarize.com option, which connects you directly with a certified online notary. Depending on the workflow set by the contractor, GCPay can also allow billing to be completed and then “held” until required waivers are uploaded, or it can unlock submission once the notarized document is received. This flexibility is designed to reduce delays tied to notary availability while still meeting compliance requirements.

Glad to hear GCPay is helping simplify a complex billing environment and improve visibility across projects.

"Efficient for Construction Billing, Needs More Autonomy"
What do you like best about GCPay?

I love that GCPay is super user-friendly and straight to the point. It helps keep track of where an invoice is in the process by using the audit trail. I also appreciate how easy it is to handle and view all the job numbers and details for billing. We get notifications for new jobs, allowing us to seamlessly enter necessary details in a user-friendly way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GCPay?

I wish we could reject an invoice and not have to call the GC to do it, sometimes it's easier if we know there is an error and want to fix it without having to bother anyone. It would be helpful to have a sub reject button where we could put a reason as to why, so the GC can see what we did. Though, that is also in the audit trail every time someone approves, signs, or rejects billings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from GCPay Team of GCPay

Norma, thank you for the wonderful feedback! We are glad the audit trail, job number visibility, and billing notifications have made tracking invoices so seamless and straightforward.

Your suggestion about a sub-side reject button with a reason field is a great one. Being able to flag and correct an error independently without needing to contact the GC would be a practical improvement, and we will make sure this gets in front of our product team.

Thank you for being a GCPay user and for sharing such thoughtful feedback!

"Effortless Payment Processing with Stellar Support"
What do you like best about GCPay?

I really like that GCPay streamlines a traditionally complex process, making it so much easier for subcontractors to electronically create and submit their pay applications and necessary lien waivers. It significantly reduces manual efforts and improves accuracy. I appreciate its structured workflows, clear audit trails, and the ease of collaboration between general contractors and subcontractors, which help keep payments organized and on schedule. The customer support is also impressive, with fast response times and a friendly approach to helping with any questions or concerns, whether from our company personnel or our subcontractors. Setup was very easy according to our management team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GCPay?

I cannot personally think of anything that I have issues with or would want to change. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from GCPay Team of GCPay

Katie, thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed review! We are thrilled that structured workflows, audit trails, and the collaborative experience between GCs and subcontractors have made such a positive impact. We will also be sure to pass along your kind words to our support team!

Having nothing to change or improve upon is the highest compliment we could receive, and we will keep working hard to maintain that standard.

Thank you for being a GCPay user and for sharing such a well-rounded review!
