
The support at Jonas has been very easy to work with and flexible in meeting our demands. The software is very user friendly, was very easy to learn for us, and has a great layout. Their reports have a drilldown feature which has been extremely useful for us and has really helped us see exactly where our numbers are coming from. In comparison to our previous software we find that Jonas Premier doesn't require as many steps to accomplish a task. We previously used to utilize Microsoft Excel to create all our Job Cost Reports but Premier has saved us a lot of time and effort as it provides this information to us through their job cost reports which has really increased our efficiency. We have really enjoyed starting to work in the Premier software. It has been helpful in realizing lots of efficiencies in reporting WIP and submitting monthly draw requests on time.
Onboard training was excellent. Support for questions or issues after implementation is excellent. Web-based software so employees and owners can view and add information from where ever they are working. Plus backup is current and ME rollover is smooth and doesn't require lots of processing to accomplish. Lots of reporting options and owners find the information easy to locate and readily available for review as needed. Very intuitive to use once for day to day activities. COVID getting in the way of our on-boarding transition! I am sure that having in-person training would have saved a lot of self-inflicted frustration. The Job Dashboard is an extremely helpful feature. It gives you a great overview of your job and a snapshot of all job-related items that need your attention. It essentially has all the information to answer quick and important questions you would have about your job. The software itself is easy to use and if you were to make any mistakes, you have the ability to easily correct those errors which is great! From a training perspective, there are a lot of documents and videos that are provided to users which were really helpful during our transitioning/training phase. Their excel add-in is also amazing when you're bringing in historical information and I can definitely see that it will be saving us tons of input time going forward as well. The software is the first of its kind to give us real time financial information on our projects and company as a whole. The Job Dashboard and Job Forecast screens are everyone's favorites. They show you everything you to need to know on the financial health of your project/budget at any given time and you can drill down into pretty much anything for more detail. Commitments and compliances are easily trackable and things like double entries are avoidable because payments are done directly out of the software. Premier's customer support is extremely responsive, helpful and knowledgeable and always offers solutions on how to best customize the software for our company's unique goals and objectives. The software is not the easiest on the eyes and initially intimidates our project managers because it really looks and behaves like an accounting software. However, once the project managers learn the true capabilities of Premier, they are truly blown away. The different modules are excellent to meet the accounting requirements for contractor, construction and development companies. I especially like the excel uploading/downloading function which has saved us a lot time! And compared with other softwares I implemented, the function to transfer beginning balance is much easier with Premier. The job costing module, the purchase order module and the Subcontract module are excellent and enable us to provide any reports that the projects team would request. Versatility - prior to Premier, our accounting software was hardware based with virtual logins which required annually licensing, maintenance and review. Not to mention the constant potential for hardware failure would basically shut down our accounting function corporately. Being able to have the same vast accounting program with more robust command and detail, on a Google web page - life changing.

To be fair, I would like more power over the reports produced in the Premier. Historically, we have given our Project Managers freedom to run their particular projects as they see fit, and with that, they all have different interests on how the reporting is produced; mainly to the advantage of handing it over to the customer directly from the system. Don't get me wrong, as an analyst, the ODATA option on the Premier package is all any accountant ever wants or needs, however, it would be useful if we could tell Jonas to spit out a report made specifically for a customer, without giving too much information, and have it presented in the professional Premier format. Jonas Premier has a great way of tracking our compliance and ensuring that we don't pay vendors that have not submitted the required information. I mostly work on the Accounts Payable side and data entry in Premier has been extremely easy and quick for me. On the project management side, Premier provides great tools for tracking changes to budget and ensuring that we stay within budget which we're really excited about! The dashboards are really what set Premier apart from all other Project Management and Financial Management applications we looked at. It provides management, at all levels, the ability to see the status of projects quickly, with also the ability to drill down for more information.
In addition, the fact that we do not have to learn, manage, and utilize two different systems for Project Management and Financial Management makes the system cost efficient and a lot easier to get operational. This is extremely important because, as we have grown, we have had to add a lot of additional personnel. Because the software is so user friendly, we have been able to get our new personnel operational extremely quickly.
Lastly, the customer support is out of this world. There has not been a time when we have needed assistance that we have not received a very quick and timely response. Most helpful items are the synergies between accounting and project management. Premier provides more transparency to each job and overall company financial health. We have been using Premier for a little over a year. We have yet to have any major dislikes. There is always a learning curve when you transition from one software to another. Our group transitioned from Quickbooks which has set a precedence in the accounting software market. There were items that Quickbooks provided from an automation stand-point that were more convenient and nice to have, rather than a need to have. Report functionality is great and there are so many options available in terms of report grouping as well. The level of detail provided by their reports is definitely something that will be of great help for us and we believe that it will help us stay on track and get the information that we need in a timely manner. More specifically, the Job Forecast screen. This screen has so much data right at your fingertips so that you can quickly see where any issues are regarding the budget. There are hyperlinks within that screen (and throughout the software) that allow you to jump to the actual document/information, which is incredibly helpful. You can add or remove columns of data and you can also export to Excel for further ease of use. Any question you would have about why a particular item is presenting a certain way - it can be answered from this screen.
Other really wonderful features include Net Zero A/P Invoices - this allows you to post and track activity accurately. The Add From ability in A/P and A/R allow you to save time by using past transactions and the ability to edit as needed.
And, the customer service and support is above and beyond. These folks (all of them) really care about their customers and the software and are primarily interested in providing an excellent product. They truly value feedback and they respond quickly and with courtesy and respect. We are 2 years into using this software and we are always treated like we just signed up. I love that everything is on one platform, tech support/customer support is AMAZING! The job dashboard is very easy to navigate for Po's and CO's. This system has improved level of accuracy, and time when entering data in AP. I am still learning how to run payments and entering daily reports but both modules have increased our efficiency. Premier has incredibly easy functionality. It just makes sense, which you can't say often about software products. The capabilities of the system are also incredible. From detailed job costing features for all our projects to the accounting capabilities for ALL the companies we are putting into Premier, it's so capable. The intercompany capabilities are like nothing I've seen with any other system. We have over 30 companies so it used to be a nightmare for me to book entries - having to rebook at every entity. Premier is able to book an entry in one place and record it all all the applicable entities. The intercompany JEs are automatically created at that time. HUGE TIME SAVER!
I LOVE the cost plus billing. It has literally cut my billing time down by 80% I'd say. Premier is also able to provide combined financial statements with full drill-down capability, so I can quickly determine what entries were made, what support is related to those, and what remaining entries are necessary. It's amazing! Can I also just say that I love it's web-based. This was important for us when we initially purchased Premier, but in light of the 2020 year this has been a lifesaver for us with everyone working remotely.
I'd also like to mention that Jonas is very responsive to customer suggestions, so when (if) we bump into something that wasn't as simple as it could have been, Jonas gets on it to make it better! With other systems, reversing entries or invoices was a multi-step process, but Premier understands all the steps and has incorporated them into one step. There are so many examples like this. Things like that really make this a stand-out system. Additionally, related to customer service, the support/service team is absolutely incredible.
