UDA team is very responsive, they are always willing to help, you can schedule training anytime if you need to, so that is a plus. **What do you dislike about UDA ConstructionOnline?** One downside for me in the estimating part is that, even when is very easy to start an estimate directly in the system, if you delete something by mistake you will not have an undo button, that makes me prefer to work my estimate on an excel and uploaded at the end. **What problems is UDA ConstructionOnline solving and how is that benefiting you?** UDA is helping me and my work with my organization, is so easy to have everything in one place and available for everyone. ### 2. Our program team consisted of engineers, hydrologists and land planners who were very familiar using programs; to owners, board members and lawyers who had never used a system with the capabilities of COL. We chose Construction OnLine since it provided all the structure and capabilities that we had decided was critical to the project and allowed us to incorporate the appropriate team member access to data. This feature provided the ability to store sensitive financial information such as invoices etc. COL’s program was easy to learn especially utilizing the short training modules and the “chat” feature which provided immediate assistance by subject matter experts eliminating downtime. We were quickly able to get schedules, program contact info, estimates and “to do’s” up and running. The engineers, hydrologists and land planners ability to upload large files, drawings and models with versions stored was critical in project coordination since team members were in various parts of the country. Once construction started, the ability for contractors and field personnel to record daily logs, upload photos, and perform checklist directly on their phones, or tablets provided efficiencies that allowed them to remain on site longer. From a management perspective the ability to customize reports and pull data, photos all from one integrated system allowed increase visibility and accuracy of consistent reporting. Finally, the program manager and me, deputy program manager, was impressed with our Construction OnLine Representatives checking in with us and encouraging us submit upgrades to the program that would make managing a large program more efficient. We have been using UDA's software for over a decade now and made the switch the online version several years ago. I've checked around for alternatives and was unable to find anything as feature-rich and complete as ConstructionOnline for our use case. Redline Planroom is especially helpful in estimating and marking up plans and communicating with our sub trades. Other reviewers have mentioned the possibly excessive number of clicks to navigate the interface, and while I can see where the comment is coming from, for myself, that issue is resolved by opening a few tabs and jumping between them as needed. Customer support, if included in your plan, is second to none, knowledgeable and eager to please. **What do you dislike about UDA ConstructionOnline?** As a Canadian user, the conversation to CAD makes an already premium product feel even more expensive. So many tasks in construction are contingent on other tasks and being able to link them is really handy. This is not just a glorified to do list like Trello. The estimation program was very well, especially with the cost books and assemblies. The red line takeoff is versatile and also integrated. The support on phone or need to chat is fantastic and thorough and the folks there are very patient. **What do you dislike about UDA ConstructionOnline?** One of the things I've been doing over the years is a specific type of range budget presentation for estimates to my client. Reports, although very good from UDA, don't work for me, and I have to export the budgeting report from UDA to a spreadsheet, and then build them into my custom forms. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of reports and information that can be pulled out of UDA, but we're just not using all of them. It also takes a while to build up to being able to use the entire program, and there's no downside from UDA. It's just a learning curve for us and our systems. **What problems is UDA ConstructionOnline solving and how is that benefiting you?** We purchased construction online after having a communications problem with one of our clients and getting the wrong sink and countertop installed. The best thing about construction online is the communications that are internal to your clients and team and the ability for clients to approve change orders and approve selections. Having to find new ways to accomplish the same function took some time. But the support from the company helped navigate this issue.
