"The holy grail IDE for software developers"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

As a software engineer I have used various code editors so far and Visual Studio Code was a life changer for me. I have been using this for last 2 years and I am completely happy with it. One thing I love the most about it is that it supports different languages. Another awesome feature is the IntelliSense and it makes the whole coding process effortless and saves a lot of time. Also there are a bunch of useful extensions that make your life a lot more easier - EsLint, Prettier, GitLense are some of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Honestly there is nothing I dislike about V S code. One thing I noticed is that sometimes there is a slight delay in response from Visual Studio Code while switching between applications in swift movement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Compact with lots of features"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The thing I like the most is it is very lightweight, it occupies very small memory while running. The feature of intellisense made developers life easy. Other thing is that we can add various extension based on our requirement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There nothing in dislike as such but I faced a problem while editing code that it doesn't support alt + select which is very important feature for a developer. It is missing here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing Coding editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

You can easily use some really useful shortcuts while coding. Also making new projects and working on them at a later moment is really easy. You can just save it and move on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It's a really good program, although it feels kinda buggy on low end machines. I wish they would fix this so you can use it on every computer you want with a smooth experience Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A brilliant Text Editor with amazing features!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I mostly use VS Code for web development, and by far, it is the best software for coding I have come across. The best thing about VS code is its wide array of extensions which are very helpful in the long run, and the inbuilt IntelliSense and debugger, which act like a second person helping you code! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I have not come across anything that I could complain about when it comes to VS code for now. But if I were to suggest something, it would be that custom themes should be more customizable. And some extensions are way too pricey, so it would be helpful to decrease the price a little. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for developers using multiple languages"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Very user-friendly IDE and great for switching between different languages. Always gets the latest updates very early. Easy to install and run programs and setting up on the computer is also quite easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The installation process is quite hefty and the size of the app is also quite large. It does not give us enough flexibility of what packages the user wants to install. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The All in One Solution for all IT employees"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The best part about this tool is the versatility it provides. It supports multiple programming languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, SCSS, Less, and JSON. Very useful for debugging and very lightweight UI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes opening .java files can be a task, as it is not the best option for Java developers, but very useful for web developers. It may get stuck at times and hamper the debugging process but its a rare scenario. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VS Code - "Developer's Tool""
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

This software is a single place for software engineers to develop their application and maintain it.

I write programs and develop an end-to-end application for the client and my self product.

The software has excellent add-on extensions that help developers debug and write code.

It supports third-party software integration as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It is difficult for beginners to start using this software, but its documentation is well explained.

I liked the product but having lots of features misguided me and wasted my time.

Apart from its interface, this software is the best support for developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Feedback"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It works well with a variety of languages, and I enjoy the plugins and how simple they are to install. The GitHub integration is fantastic, and you can do a lot with VS Studio. It has a pleasant and user-friendly interface that makes it enjoyable to use for ordinary programming activities. It looks for installed environments and selects the correct one most of the time based on your code; but, if it fails to do so, you can manually select the correct one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes the editor fails to recognize some errors in the code. No major complaints. else it's an amazing product for coders and programmers. Nothing to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
