"Crowned Code Editor!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The best thing i like about Visual studio Code is that it is free, open source and cross platform. Which means it works on Windows, Linux as well on Mac OS. VS Code is not an editor, it an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) . By providing plugins, extensions, right setting, configured shortcut keys, it has became a full stack workstation. It has support for multiple programming Languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Although VS code provides support for multiple programming languages, it is mainly used for web development purpose. As it does not fulfil the requirements of desktop applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Multi Project / Workspace does not work too well when trying to open up a couple of different projects and have them debug properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VS code over any other code-editor."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It helped me increase my productivity with many helpful extensions like thunder client, prettier, etc..., and the best thing that I like about VS code is that it suggests syntaxes. And the inbuilt terminal is life-changing for back-end developers like me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There's not a single thing that I dislike about this masterpiece. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio code for the Software Development"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The thing which I liked the most about the visual studio code is that we can use multiple programming and scripting languages in the same text editor and it also has the support of plugin which makes the development easier by providing us with code suggestions and code snippets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The thing which I liked the most about the visual studio code is that there is no support to perform the git operations with the help of the User Interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code Review by a Penetration Tester"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It supports multiple programming languages for coding, you just have to install basic extensions for running different languages. whenever you make a syntax error it warns you immediately which is awesome. It is easier to manage, complies the code quickly and you can also execute the source file through a command prompt.

It Works on many platforms like Windows, macOS, Linux, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Php and Python development needs some improvements.

There were some bugs in the previous version of visual studio code but in the current version, they are fixed. Its user interface seems more professional due to which some newcomers feel difficult to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent simple and adaptive code editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I really enjoy their plugin store where you can customize your environment and experience. My favorite has been including things like codemaid to help keep my code clean and neat on saving that way I can focus more on coding. It also works well with Unity3D, which is what we use for our video game development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There isn't anything I particularly dislike strongly about it. I'd have to say that maybe it's a bit harder to do native code tests with it versus using studio, but then it would defeat the purpose of just having the code application part of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VSCode + Portainer = Much Love!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is a lightweight but powerful code editor that you can transform into a fully fledged IDE for almost any programming language on the market. Featuring incredible extensibility, one could write extensions to deal with complex scenarios not covered by default tools and to integrate VSCode with a variety of tools outside of Microsoft's ecosystem. One such tool is Portainer which provides a web API to add and deploy custom Composer, Swarm, or Kubernetes app stacks.

With the help of a VSCode extension (developed in-house), we now integrate Portainer and VSCode to enable app deployment from within the code editor, making it easier for our teams to test and deploy new applications and updates quickly. No need to reach either a remote shell or a web interface.

Since the release of code-server, we now use Portainer to deploy a custom VSCode server stack to our researchers as their standard code editor. Hence, they're able to access our computational resources from anywhere without the need to learn a new set of tools (namely Git and remote shells). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The license used by Microsoft on their binaries is a bit odd. Still, for those that feel uncomfortable with it, there are 100% open source distributions like VSCodium that are fully compatible with FOSS licensing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best code editor and its absolutely free"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio Code interface is very easy to use and adapt. Everything is found in the fingertip like Explorer for file management, GIT or repository management etc.

- The layout ,text and icons can be customized as my wish which is really awesome

- The visual studio is as good as IDE which supports for hundred of programming languages by just adding third party plugins which is easily is available

- This also supports the command line tools integrated into the operating system Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Apart from all the advantages mentioned above the visual studio consumes high memory and sometimes freezes lot of plugins might be difficult to maintain in big project Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

""Multipurpose IDE Review""
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The most likely feature of VS Code is it supports many languages like C, C++, Python, C#, Javascript, etc.

It has many functionalities and valuable features like autosuggestion, autocompletion, etc.

It has many extensions for different languages. These features save our time and help to write error-free code.

I love the default dark theme that is more convenient for our eyes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

All things are good, but the dislikable thing is that is sometimes it throws an unnecessary error, and that is difficult to fix for a beginner. The interface is also not so beginner-friendly and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
