"The best lightweight, but fully-featured editor for modern web development"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like that Visual Studio Code has everything that I need built into it, and I can easily add custom features with extensions. I can run tests with the built-in test explorer, manage version control, debug, and everything else which makes development very fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There are some small quality-of-life improvements that I would like, but I can't think of any major problems. I have been able to fix all of those small things by diving deep into the settings, or by installing an extension. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Light, adaptable, and with a plethora of add-ons"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Everything, in fact. It's been used for a variety of languages, including JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, and ASP.net. I use it often with Cordova, and it performs admirably.

This IDE's Intellisense has been an amazing feature. VS Code also comes with a variety of themes, my particular favorite being the dark theme, as well as a variety of fun extensions to play with, thanks to the enormous community it has recently attracted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There isn't anything I don't enjoy about it, considering all the goodies it has to offer. Since I'm a former Visual Studio user, I'm very convinced with how compact this is according to the amount of work & tasks it can handle. It is, in fact, the best IDE, I'd say. "A good paid IDE for CSS and SCSS programming languages."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It comes with economical plans for the users.

Its color-coded syntax is very good.

Debugging the code is a piece of cake for the users.

It boots up very quickly.

It has got a lot of theme templates for its users which can be easily customized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Its integration with Github Copilot is not very well.

I did not work very well with Python and GO programming languages.

It does not have in-built DB support which otherwise would have been very useful for the developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code is probably the best code editor on the market right now. Totally love it!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Easy to use with plenty of customization options as well as extensions that can be installed to enhance the experience. It's also pretty quick to load and not too resource intensive, which is the most important part for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Main things I dislike are all of the telemetry stuff which is enabled by default, and it's not perfectly clear that it's there and how to disable it. If I remember correctly, you need it disable it in two locations, which is a pain. I've also noticed more and more resource usage over the years, but it is still acceptable for now. "Excellent Code Editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It allows many extensions that make development easy for the developer. It supports many programming languages. Great syntax highlighter, Costing is reasonable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes it crashes on warnings and errors in the code; restart is the only option. Glitches with some plugins and restart the only option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the best IDE I have used so far !"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Some major upsides to Visual Studio Code will be :

1. Visual Studio Code is an excellent tool for writing codes and getting them on the market easily. It has many features with which we can develop the codes easily and efficiently. So, for all those who are working in the field of software development, this tool will help them to develop all the codes easily.

2. Microsoft Visual Studio Code is a lightweight and powerful code editor that supports code editing, debugging, IntelliSense syntax highlighting, and other features. It has a clean interface, which makes it easy to use, and it supports extensions, which make it a powerful tool. People who work in the IT industry can use it to write codes, and designers can use it to create CSS.

3. It is a great text editor, perfect for managing code and debugging. A big plus is the inbuilt terminal. I can even run Minecraft directly without the need of a separate client. The software has the most suitable packages for all types of coding languages. Another great thing is that I can easily search for files and lines of code using the search tool. The software also has inbuilt features for editing and debugging code. Visual Studio Code is perfect for developers who want to be more productive, but isn't suited for other fields. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

If I have to think about some downsides then I would say :

1. I think the debugging ecosystem in the platform can be more improvised.

2. There should be build-in support for databases so that I can avoid installing 3rd party applications for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
