"Great tool for Code development."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It is a very user-friendly and straightforward tool for Developers. UI is smooth, also. I think we can easily connect with GitHub, which is the most valuable feature. Super fast when launching the application, all tools are fully functional, and my fav Data viewer option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Nothing to dislike, but I would suggest that as devloper, we work on different Programming languages, so when I'm using it, missing the interactive console to execute small snippets of code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best free and most popular in IDE the market"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

You can use VS Code to write code in any programming language Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It doesn't have a predefined environment for a least the most popular languages. So that new users could have a better experience right out the box.

In a large code base it is a little sluggish. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"So simplistic UI, yet so powerful"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like that Visual studio does not come installed with a lot of bloatware. It just has basic functionality that gets the job done. But it has a range of extensions that allow users to code in any programming language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I don't like that visual studio does not come with a good git plugin at base like Intellij/Webstorm. I know I can download an extension later, but git feels like something that should be always available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightweight IDE / Text Editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The most important part of using Visual Studio Code is being lightweight and also comes with support for multiple languages. With like folder view, inbuilt terminal support, extensions and git support, we have full IDE experience. If we want specific language support with enhanced capabilities, we can install extensions related to the specific language and can get features like IntelliSense and auto-completion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I use VS Code for most of my daily programming activities and have observed slowness while startup if you have a lot of extensions installed, especially on lower-end machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VS code the best Editor in the universe"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The extension and easy-to-use system. I can integrate anything as an extension. Same editor for all the different languages. It's so lightweight that it can beat JetBrains's IDEs based on size. And Nowadays developers must need to use multiple languages and techs. We language-focused heavy IDE like Visual Studio and Pycharm are tough to such devs as we have to shift different ide for that. VS code is doing all this along with awesome UI. It's live sharing feature is awesome. And it is FREE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

For debugging, it sometimes becomes slow and other big IDEs. There is a scope it can be improved. Formatting is cumbersome sometimes. Also installing extension sometime take a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Multifunctional Lightweight "Code" Editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code very lightweight and works very fast. However, this does not prevent it from being a multifunctional code editor. With VSC, you can develop applications in almost any programming language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code endears itself to software developers in every field. I can say that it is one of the rare applications that does not have an aspect that I do not like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
