Generated using AI from real user reviews
Users consistently praise Visual Studio Code for its lightweight performance and extensive customization options, which allow for a tailored coding experience across various programming languages. The built-in Git integration and IntelliSense features enhance productivity, making it a preferred choice for many developers. However, some users note that performance can decline when too many extensions are installed.

"It's a good feature to code on it"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It has a great number of plugin options, perfect cross platform function as I'm using 2 computers with 2 different operating systems. It's full featured IDE can be ran at any system. It is open-source and has a great community that is continually making updates and extensions. I really like its minimalism as an interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I wish there was a way to have tab groups of commonly-opened files, because the tab bar quickly overflows.Installing packages is sometimes a bit convoluted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best text editor there is!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

- Code is very easy to get set up for any environment, and there are some environments where you don't even have to set anything up! It has a bunch of functionality built-in.

- Cross platform, I use it on macOS, Linux and Windows. Functions flawlessly on any platform.

Oh, and it's open source. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There's not much I can dislike about this product. One thing I don't love is the rare and random crashes, which have been happening less frequently as time goes by. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best IDE i've used"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The extensions: there are a lot of snippets than can make you save a lot of time if you get used to use them Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

At the beginning I didn't like that you can't scroll by pressing the middle button and move the mouse as you would do in the browser, but I got used to it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VSCode Review"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

EXTENSIONS! There are a lot of them, thanks to the community, and they are very easy to use. VSCode is very easy to use actually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best free code editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The themes and plugins available allow you to customize your editor to your delight. Making your own plugins becomes super accessible. Lightning fast load and built-in mini-map. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Occasionally, the program crashes and I have to disable plugins one by one to figure out which is the culprit. There is no built-in shortcut key for comparing two files. The current git version history plugins seem a little lacking to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Code Editor for Development perfect on the market."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I have been using Visual Studio Code for about 11 years and it is my favorite development editor. I currently use the Enterprise version of Visual Studio Code and it gives me everything I can ever wish for a development environment. Although most of the work is in the Java environment, it is starting to move to other platforms such as Php and JavaScript for Node.JS work.

- Very beautiful theme by default

- It is possible to create applications using C #, C ++, VB.net, and more.

- It has an advanced code debugger.

- It has autocomplete code.

- Manage queries towards SQLserver.

-The project manager and code is very well dustributed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Ctrl+shift+W used to close the current tab in version 2015, but they removed that in 2017 for some reason. I needed to manually add it to their list of shortcuts to bring it back. Also, the "go to" function (Ctrl+G) used to run extremely slowly when Visual Studio Code first came out. (It's much better now though!) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I wish that i could drag out windows from the editor for multiple screen usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
