"Develop applications and web pages with this smart editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It is a code editor that has many options for the development of applications, the ones I like the most, its debugger, its autocomplete and the options for refactoring the code, its interface is very light and it loads files quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes it takes a long time to appear errors, also depending on the programming language can cost a bit of work to process the syntax, the add-ons are easy to install however sometimes it can make you lose some settings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Awesome free IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Lightweight, a lot of plugins, open source, delicate but robust. Pretty much stable, adoption by a lot of people. Cool shortcuts, multi platform, very powerful IDE but very decent UI and easy to use and improve with plugins. Comes with a terminal! Cool! This tabs mode for opened files, cool! I now use it for my everyday task with plain text files regardless of the language. I use it for developing a back end in node.js with swagger plugin, and an Angular front end. Also I use it to develop a mobile app in IONIC 4 so it's pretty cool all the links between files and classes, the auto completion for functions and variables work as expected. On the left side of your display you find all this cool sections about your tree project, source code status, oh right! you can commit and push your files with ease! the find and replace feature works as expected, pretty fast for large files, like json or CSV files that I have to work to. 100% recommended. What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Pretty much nothing. I love the simplicity of the UI and the way they handle files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing piece of software that every coder should use"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The fact that you can easily customize it to your preference! it is very light-weight so anything can store VS code easily. It also does not require much resources. I can even run this off of a flash drive! Its also compatible with many different operating systems, such as linux, windows, and UNIX Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

In my opinion, there isnt too much to criticize. Maybe the way you open a new project, which does take a little amount of time, or the fact that it freezes up on rare occasions. Still, the code is frequently saved, so that is not too big of an issue ion my opinion Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IDE for all top coding languages"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I really like the support for languages it has.

The integrated git control and the integrated terminal are the best plugin features of it.

When I code in visual studio code, the best thing IDE does is syntax highlighting and code refactoring.

Also, we can build our plugins for products, databases and connect to the database and code.

And the Azure connectivity is excellent for the deployment of apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I don't think there are any! !!!!!!!!!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smart coding and very good tools for teamwork"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

As a programmer I use this editor because it has many tools and options that help me a lot in my work, I really like your autocomplete since it gives very good suggestions what helps me write my code faster, its interface is comfortable however it is different to the other editors that I have used, if there is something that I like is its dark theme, since it allows me to work for a longer time without damaging my eyesight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

t does not find the syntax errors quickly, and this editor tends to work slowly when large projects are opened, when its add-ons are sometimes not what is expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very powerful and strong code/file editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Ability to access Linux WSL system to do file editing. It also works well with Docker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Nothing really. The only area of improvement is if VS Code could integrate with ReSharper extension, that would be even better Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is an excellent html and JS editor. If you are familiar with Visual Studio for c# development, the switch to Code for html and JS is easy!! It's syntax highlighting is great. The integration with node makes it the perfect tool to edit Angular files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The user interface is a little clunky and sometimes hard to navigate around and find files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best features in a single editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It is an editor that has its own debugger, I can easily find syntax errors, it also has a web with many add-ons to install, an advantage of this editor is that it has a pretty good and intelligent autocomplete, besides that I can control the git repositories from the same editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes it can be a bit slow to find the errors, even when working with large projects, this editor has to consume a lot of computer resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
