I love how you are able to integrate third party development tools within the editor and they have a native fee. This brings my work to one central location so I don't have to keep shifting between applications. For instance, I have both docker and azure installed in VS Code thus making my work easier.
I also enjoy using VS code's interactive playground which you can use yo learn how to use the software to the maximum so that you end up getting the most from it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Visual Studio Code, even in its default state, is a particularly heavy application that almost feels like a full-fledged integrated development environment. ANd a case can be made for that considering how much you can stretch the editor's functionality. However, and in my opinion, it beats logic to call an IDE a text editor. There's not much difference between Webstorm's (for instance) resource usage and VS Code's. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
