"VS Code has redefined the way code editors are meant to be"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The huge bundle of shortcut keys and the ability to customize the shortcut keys is very cool.

There are even shortcut commands available to make your tasks so much easier.

The look and feel of the app is amazing.

The integration with installed packages and git is flawless.

Debugging feels a lot painless with VS code

Being open source and having the support of a huge community give it its own charm Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Honestly there is nothing I dislike about VS. Atleast thats what I can say for myself. I can only suggest what all needs to be done more.

Some important tools/packages like - 'Live Server' or linting tools or code for matting tools could've come already installed out of the box as these are used regularly.

The Intellisense can be develope a little more for better experience like we get in 'Visuak Sttudio Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A great tool for developers"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like it because it's easy to use and flexible. I can use it for a variety of programming languages like python, java, html, css, js and much more. I can download the plugins for the language I want and start using it with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I didn't use it much, but I noticed that the auto-complete for html is not very convenient, for example it does not provide a starting skeleton for an html page or completes the tags easily. Perhaps there are shortcuts I did not discover yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best IDE in the world for programmers: fast, versatile, and feature-rich."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like about this excellent and efficient development platform is that it is lightweight, requiring less CPU and RAM usage from your PC. It is excellent for writing code in any language. To use different languages, you need to install the plugin from the store, and then everything is fully set up and ready. It has all the main features that developers need for everyday use. What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

What I don't like about this tool is that when a new project is created, there is no option to create the workspace; you must manually create a folder and open the application from that folder. Another aspect that I dislike is that you have to download many plugins to use this tool in different languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VSCode Rocks!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

At first sight, I fell in love with the clean interface. Then I started exploring the extensions marketplace of VS Code, and I started finding gems that made my code so much better. For example, the ability to format your code .a certain way. The shortcuts are also awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

So far, while coding I didn't find any. However, the lack of organized information on their support pages is the only thing I can think about. When I hit a wall, it's always hard to find the information I need on the help pages. Sometimes, I can't find it at all. That's a bit frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excels expetionally as a text editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio code is at at times referred to as a cross between be an IDE and a text editor because of how broad its usage can get and how much a use can extend it. And this is the main reason why I love this code editor which is free by the way. The editor identifies most of the files I use for my development especially configuration files for node packages such as webpack and babel and provides you with intellisense that tries to guide you and make your work easy.

I also like Visual studio code's interactive playground where you can learn to use the app effectively and gain the most from it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Having so much functionality incorporated in it makes VS code very heavy within the text editor spectrum. It takes a long time to start up and to even open large projects compared to its competitors like sublime text. This does not make working with node modules any easier. "Best code editor out there!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I'm a long-time vim user that was loath to use a GUI based editor. VS Code converted me by being lightweight, fast, and just working. Extensions are plentiful and easy to install, and it's great to have all the modern conveniences of an IDE while still staying small and compact. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The biggest downside to VS Code is probably the fact that text rendering can slow down from time to time when writing prose.

Golang support is not ideal yet either. Using the language server can improve the Go experience, but I was still suffering from slow or nonexistent autocomplete, variable renaming, and other basic features. I wound up having to go back to vim for my Go code, but would love to come back to VS Code for it once the issues are fixed! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent Lightweight IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code has become my only code editor that I use. It is lightweight and extensible, meaning you have what you need and not what you don't. While Visual Studio has always been a great product, it has become bloated and oversized. However, VS Code is perfect. It's quick to download and quick to update. The customization options are also amazing. You are able to customize any aspect that you want and that makes it even more appealing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There are some code tools that aren't available in VS Code. Some powerhouses like Resharper have stated that they will never support VS Code and so you have to look for other tools that will fit what you need. However, it comes down to what you really need. Resharper and tools like that are nice, but when you can have a development environment that is cross-platform and allows you to customize it, I think it far outweighs not having tools like those. "Visual Studio Code"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VS Code is the only code editor that I use. It's an amazing tool. They have a lot of plugins, themes, and everything imaginable for writing code. This is a must use for a developer. New developers as well will have no problem getting started with Visual Studio Code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I don't like the new icons they used when updating vs code. Additionally, we use TypeScript and VS code can be super slow when loading types and providing feedback. Other than that, VS code is very stable and works well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best text editor ever for multiple programming languages. "
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is the by far best text editor i have used. The most important thing about it? It is free of cost. Second, it has almost every possible coding features and standards that other editors lack. Too many themes to choose from, too many extentions to make your coding as flexible as possible, version control systems, auto code formatting and many more features. It is like you never have to leave editor for anything outside abd it still keeps getting better with every update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The one thing I dislike about VS Code is that it requires too much memory and cpu usage. You will need a high configuration computer if you are using 2-3 high ram usage software along with VS Code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
