VS Code has integrated development features that are, according to me, beyond what it advertises as a text editing tool. Support for frameworks and libraries such as React, Vue, and Angular is spectacularly and I am always left in awe because of how well this editor implements its features.
But if these sound intimidating to you, just know that there is a welcome page where the editor tries to explain many of its functions. There is also a playing ground right within the software you can try out a lot of the features advertised without the fear of interfering with your work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't really think of a time when I didn't like Visual Studio Code. I could say that it should support other languages as much as it supports the ones used for web development but that would not be okay because then I'd just want it to be a mere text editor that syntactically highlights the code written in any language without doing much past that.
Visual Studio Code is, in my opinion, a tool that should mainly be used for web development and if you try to use for any scenario then you might find that it has a lot of shortfalls Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
